I would have thrown the camera out of the tree if he got an attitude with me like that. Hunting isn't about killing and getting it on video to make money if you aren't out there for the right reason then stop hunting.

I'm glad your shot was tight immediately after stopping him. Too many bowhunters wait like 2 seconds b4 they release. That's why u get plan B,C & D entering into the equation. Great plan & I'm glad it worked out for u👍.

I like the reality of the vids where not everything is a highlight reel. The hunt is a journey. I have filmed so much for my channel that didn't make the cutting room floor, but in reality I wanted to show it all. I might start doing that...

“Ditch noodles” lol I love it. These public land challenges are great, and also an awesome way to get to know dudes from other channels! Gonna definitely follow the other guys in the trip. Looks like a damn fun trip.

Lighted nocks would of been nice!

Great show! They sure were in them! On a side note, I think lighted nocks should be a prerequisite of participants of future Public Land Challenges. 😉

When they work...and don't fall out...I don't believe they are as accurate and they mess with the arrow balance because they are heavy. Other then that they look cool!

@@dougkraemer8327 Baloney. They don’t have any noticeable negative effects to arrow flight within the average hunters effective range. One drop of super glue will take care of any loose nock. They do far more than “look cool”.

Love the style of these videos with updates from each group! It's awesome seeing everyones action in one place!

So cool seeing real down to earth guys hunting on public land instead of the usual rich guys hunting in a pen with guides/cameras/wildlife biologists/food plots etc. My favorite hunting channel by far! Keep 'em coming guys!

Lighted knocks would help drastically in seeing your shot impact. Especially on film. I switched after fighting them for years. I’ll never hunt without them. They help to answer so many questions.

I feel that the shooter needs to apologize to the camera man. He sounded pretty rude to him when he was asking him if he was on the deer. The camera man told him a few times that he was . Then the nerve of the shooter practically telling Jake that he needed to answer him right now (24:30- 24:36 time stamp) You can tell in Jake's tome when he answered him that he was a little annoyed by this. Come on guys just take the shot at the deer and stop worrying so much about the camera shot. If you get the camera shot then so be it but if you don't then no big deal. Remember that this is about hunting and not some big hunting production where you have to get the shot on film. Leave that to all the other big production companies. Just remember to have fun. Maybe Jon's attitude has rubbed off on others in the group and that is why no one seemed overly excited about him getting a deer. Just my opinion here folks.

Love the videos! One suggestion for Aaron, it you attach your beast sticks upside down to your backpack, when you set your backpack down, it will free stand by itself and not fall over. It’s simple and small but I have found it helpful for me.

Even if the other hunters didn’t shoot a deer, the knowledge you gain as a viewer is crazy! If I meet anyone interested into getting into hunting I tell them to watch all of the public land challenges!

Good way to end the evening after getting home from the woods. Had a little two year old 7 point hit a scrape about 45 yards from me, he circled around and about 45 yards away from the scrape(still 45 from me working a circle) watch him rub the hell out of a few small trees, and high tail it out when a big bodied old 9 started stomping about 90 yards away. Unfortunately light ended before he came in but I’ve seen him around lately so time to push my set up a little closer to his area. Good luck! And congratulations!

They collectively shoot a deer about once a week. Eventually it's not exciting when you have 10-15 people doing the same thing day in day out for years on end. At this point it's just a buisness for them.

@@MickieDsNuts Part of the thing that got me hooked on THP a couple years ago was how it really felt like a team effort from the crew and they were all genuinely very excited for each other anytime they dropped a deer. Especially considering how the whole crew is buckless through the first week of Nov this year, I was expecting some hooting and hollering and more excitement back at camp, maybe even a few more guys from the crew going out on the tracking and retrieval. I really hope it's not just becoming "business" to them, because I think my interest will begin to fizzle. There are plenty of deer hunting channels on youtube to watch if all I want to see is a deer get shot. THP is the only hunting channel that makes me feel like I'm along for the ride at deer camp, not just watching a deer get killed. I really hope they don't lose that.

Hey guys. Please take no offense but I think you're a little off base. There was no excitement at camp because he didn't kill a deer yet. He had a questionable hit on a deer. Not time to celebrate and be excited yet. As far as the group joining on the recovery... it wasn't just a recovery. He was still hunting that deer. Not a time for a big group of people marching around. I'm sure if the video footage showed a perfect double lung it would have played out like you hoped. But the footage didn't show much and the arrow showed guts. Hope that sheds some light on the situation so you understand how that all happened like it did. I'm sure they haven't lost their passion at all.

Hunted every inch of Indiana for 45 years…. God makes you earn em here! Bow hunting the Hoosier you better be 25 ft up! They’re born looking high.And I do believe in scent control clothing and products here.I also believe our population is considerably low for the last 7 to 10 years.Face paint and ghillies in the trees work here too. You would be surprised on how easy it is to get close to deer from the ground since they are looking up so much. I've used a tree climber for 2 years and saw more deer this year only hunting from the ground within 1 month.

There is no way those hoosier deer are harder to hunt than Pa deer. Our have an extensive tunnel network and they sneak up behind you and gore you before you can get a shot off. And it is always an uphill drag!
