The beginning was the best part for me. I loved the nods and hints of Spielberg influence thrown in. I liked the antagonist, I think he had a good arc and motive and I am a big fan of the actor.

@@razorpit I didn’t like the rest of the movie. I think it was ruined by introducing a new character because it’s a closing of a franchise, it should have returning characters and a new villain. The whole Helena character was pointless, and she was not only an unlikeable character but she had no meaning.
@Darth_Melek
10 ай бұрын
I think they made her unlikeable on purpose. She heavily reminds Indy of how his son became rebelious and how it got him killed which Indy blames himself for that, meanwhile Helena who's his goddaughter which he basically neglected went down a bad path after losing her father to his own madness, she tried to keep people away and just get money in order to "survive" as crooks tend to do. But in the end when Indy just wanted to give up completly and die in the past she couldn't let it happen again. I think that in the end she saved him from his past while he saved her too. I like it because it was intentional and also unlike other characters she wasn't a cliche of a smart researcher or anything.@@I_O246
I was so so SO impressed with the de-aging in this film. If I didn’t know how old Harrison Ford actually is, I wouldn’t have known the difference. How far the technology has come in so short a time! The only time I truly noticed any difference was when Indy was hanging from the rope - the rope looked weird, but not his face. Incredible work by the artists.

I’m not surprised at all at Harrison doing many of his physical acting, but God damn is it amazing to see him in action! Especially meant to be his 40 year old self! Still got that energy and you can tell, not only physical alone, but mental like when he talks about his voice The first 20 minutes of this film clearly shows James Mangold, Harrison, and everyone got what it takes to make a classic Indy adventure in modern cinema. The rest of the film then shows that they could also do a new Indy adventure, and like what Harrison been saying “Tell a story about Indy that we think we’d never see.” I enjoyed this film. Showing the old Indy we know and love to an Indy we never expected. Life won’t always be in your favor, but you gotta keep going. GIVE EM HELL INDIANA JONES!

The beginning sequence was definitely the best part of the film. The cgi on Harrison to make him younger looked good, I just wish they would have tweaked his voice to give him a younger Harrison voice too.
For Ford, only his reflection has changed..apart for this, he still has that middle aged energy in full.
I was sure they only used his CGI face attached to a younger body double but it seems he really did a lot of the acting with his own body. He's got great posture and movement for an 80 year old guy. Much better than DeNiro and Pesci in The Irishmen.
This movie blew me away on so many levels. I am old enough to have seen the episodes before this one when they came out. This is how it's done.

I’ve become mixed on de-aging as this film and The Irishman made me realize that there are more things to consider when it comes to de-aging as you not only need to make your actor look young, but make them also sound, move and feel as young as they look. Now I’m split on casting younger actors or de-aging them, or a third one where you cast young actors and deepfake them with the original actors face

I loved the movie. Some of the super close up de aged shots were a little uncanny Valley. I kinda wish they ran his vocal performance through the same system Lucas film used for Luke and darth vader. Just to get some younger more on point options. But it's still all in all a great movie
Story is also important, as well as having likeable "co-stars"

I did not enjoy this movie overall BUT that opening was fantastic. Harrison Ford really did give it his all and it shows. Loved this look behind the scenes showing what all went into this.
Wish this would have been the whole movie.
Harrison was around 49 when he shoot Indiana Jones and the Last crusade, so the actor should be 55 years old in 1944, but the character is 10 years younger than that. Mystery explained
When will it be available on VHS tape? 😂
The film is decent and it serves quite excellent as a reference to all the previous ones! I've seen it twice in the cinema! We should be grateful to Harrison Ford for returning back as Indiana Jones for the very final time...!! In many aspects it is quite better than the "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull". An obvious downside: his age! Ford he is visibly older, because.... well, he is!! There's a gap of 15 years between the two films!! Nevertheless, he doesn't seem as an ordinary 80 years old person. He's quite fit and in shape, thus he's portraying the character with success, humor and decency!!!

Apart of me wishes the flashback scenes were done with a different actor. Same build, maybe someone who's good at doing a Harrison Ford impression, dress him up and just film him in shadows and use the night time setting to mask the actor underneath maybe digital enhancing points where you can maybe see the actors face and use the de-aging tech as a tool rather than the main thing I understand that'll take some people out of the movie, but I'd prefer it over the uncanny Valley that was a de-aged Harrison. I just don't think the tech is there yet for scenes that last more than 2-3 minutes
