penn state played a very pathetic game, demonstrating the unworthiness of franklin as our head coach. When he has every single advantage and complete support system that nearly any football program in the nation would envy. And yet is still unable to produce a top 5 or championship team. After nearly 12 years, I think what we are seeing is that Penn state has now been reduced to the level of teams such as Indiana In the big 10. Penn state has become mediocre and is clearly unworthy of any ranking, probably in the top twenty. Don't believe me? Take a look at franklin's record When he plays any top 10 football team in the nation or any big ten perennial power. It's absolutely pathetic! And they just signed a long term contract with this loser of a coach franklin. It's because the penn state school administration and the leaders of pennsylvania Are happy with penn state football producing a winning season, Getting a bowl bid and filling the stadium. But the long term fans and tens of thousands of older alumni base Absolutely know what a loser franklin is in comparison to the legacy Championship tradition That joe paterno built from nothing. I don't agree that indiana is a good team after losing every single football game in the big ten thus far this year. Quite to the contrary, Penn state has diminished into mediocrity. And if you read what the youtube reviewers are saying, you are going to find that my opinion is in the overwhelming majority. We need to fire franklin! And, Produce a contract that requires the new coach To yield a national championship team; And, give him latitude to do his job with all the great tools, funding, support and facilities that joe paterno built That are second to none in the nation for college football.

I know it’s pretty unlikely that anyone will actually see this but I just had to say why I thought PSU seemed to struggle. It was a tough loss last week to OSU and people were absolutely nasty about the loss and said some pretty bad things about the team and I think it got in the players heads. Not calling anyone out but as a Nittany Lion fan I can understand one’s frustration but we need to show some grace to our team. You can’t win them all and we need to remember that the players are still kids. Our QB is only 19 years old dang it!! You can't expect intimidate success. I'm not saying that they were hopeless and couldn't have done anything to beat OSU or to absolutely blowout this game here but we need to understand that Penn State is still a team of humans or kids for that matter and they can't be perfect every game. They've got a lot on their shoulders playing for this program and if they lead it well and show the world who we are, that’s all I care about.

I think the "gotta remember these are just kids" argument goes out the window now that we are in the NIL era. These players are young -- but they are essentially junior pro athletes, making six figures or in the case of Drew Allar, reportedly almost 7 figures!Let's be honest and realize they are no different than other athletes under age 21 who are playing professionally at basketball, soccer, or baseball, etc. Is losing to OSU the end of the world? Of course not. But it's also fair to say PSU's quarterback performance last week in a big game was one of the worst and most inept we've seen in a long, long time. These aren't just 'student-athletes' who play for a meal plan and paid tuition, like in the old days. Given their lofty salaries (err, 'endorsement income'), there's a reasonable expectation that diehard fans may be critical when level of play doesn't match level of pay! 😂

I have no problem with Coach Franklin. It is a difficult road rebuilding a team and he has done a fine job. I am glad to see the 1st interception of Drew Alar’s career. Now he can relax. Also, finally a long ball and it won the game. This will give him confidence that he can throw the long one. I don’t expect PSU to defeat MI, but I expect a hard fought game and who knows? Miracles happen. How about MI, Ohio State and PSU going into seasons end with 1 loss records.

Okay that was not a good game but as a psu fan here's why i have hope: the coaches are letting drew allar play the game. That last td throw was a DIME. The kid clearly has the stuff, our receivers are just not creating enough separation consistently. Better play calling and more creative routes, plus cleaning up the miscues on defense, and you have a really solid team. Will it happen? Probably not, i dont have a ton of faith in our coaching staff when it comes to gameday, but the pieces are definitely there

You nailed it. Good players. Lousy coaching. No faith in the coaches on game day means you should have little hope. Franklin is locked in for years and his coaching gets worse every year. I expect to see them around 14 or 15. When #6 Penn State loses to the #3 team they drop 4 places., Funny how teams from the SEC, the PAC12 or Ohio State can be in the top 10, lose to a #25 team and only drop 3 or 4 places.

I'm guessing your talking about Alabama and LSU. When they loose it's always really close games, against really good teams. Penn States lost to Ohio State was predictable. You say they only lost by 8. But if you watched the game, they got a meaningless touchdown on the last drive to make it seem more respectable. Throughout the entire rest of the game Penn scored 2 field goals, that's pitiful. And it means their offense is non existent.

I couldn't agree more. Many of us who were consistent fans of the Joe Paterno dynasty know exactly how bad Franklin really is. It's not what the administration or What are the leadership of pennsylvania want anymore. Joe paterno built the penn state football dynasty from nothing. Now these leaders simply want to produce a winning team that gets a bowl bid And fills the stadium. Franklin says it all the time. But take a look at his contract. And then take a look at the history of teams who have played penn state in football in the big ten such as indiana. And then you'll quickly realize the franklin will never produce a top ten team. This year i'm not sure they belong in the top twenty. Franklin is Simply not capable, and if he was in the pros, he would have been canned a long time ago. He simply doesn't have the ability to compete against the likes of the top 5 teams in the nation and it's painful to watch. And it's not just me and you. There are many tens of thousands of older fans and alumni who fully understand what's going on; Pennsylvania is a sham.

The reason defensive players do not kick the ball the length of the field is because it is illegal to do so. It is not illegal to attempt to pick the ball up or recover a fumble, which is what was happening on that play. Nobody was punching or swatting the ball backwards. They were trying to recover and/or score a defensive TD. And why would it going out of bounds benefit the offense? The offense HAD the ball. Maybe they should have blocked better?
