I have a bottle of Indri, but I'm not a huge fan of their regular single malt. Since they were newer I omitted them from this. I do plan on doing a buying guide for Indian Whisky

Like the Paul John but as Bill has mentioned indian can be a tad bit agressive and I found the Amrut fusion to be a good combo of a bit more mellow but still a unique flavor profile to keep it on the shelf over maybe another bottle of scotch :)

I agree and think Amrut Fusion is a buy all day long. It has some nice peat influence but not so much to scare some people off. It has such nice flavors and Amrut does a great job with this one. My bottle is almost gone but I am looking already to replace it.

I just came across your channel and find it very informative. I would love to hear your take on Japanese whisky as it’s something I’ve been buying more of recently.

Amrut and Paul John are awesome, like few years of aging in warm climate makes 'em so much better than anything Scotland can provide. For me personally this type of fast aging so far tastes so much better than 18 year old scotch. Same goes for Kavalan from Thailand. Except for peated stuff ofc, no one can beat Bruichladdich.

Thats a lot of opinions in a small amount of space. Only thing I disagree with is that Indian Whisky tends to be a little aggressive that I think the prolonged aging of Scotch helps to deal with. Other than that, I'm a huge fan of Indian Whiskies

@@TheWhiskeyDictionary Taste is subjective ofc, but that aggressive whiskey from hot climate also has a massive amount of taste, where as all (over 200 different bottles) I've tried from Scotland from no age to 24 years even at cask strength feel pale and watery by comparison. My personal top favorite whiskeys are Kavalan (Taiwan), Amrut (India), Teerenpeli (Finland), anything from Bruichladdich. Doesn't mean I think Scottish whiskey is bad, it just doesn't hit the spot for me as much.

If you love Indian whisky you really need to try some Texas Balcones Single Malt at cask strength. Its even more warm aged than India

Indian whisky is a not a daily drinker. Bolder flavors and a little harsh on the palate.

I could see that argument, many of them are pretty expensive. I find that Paul John of all of them is the best bang for the buck. It's hard to know exactly how much more expensive it is just because it's coming from India.
