I think you are right. American food is "ingredients". You have the sausage, the eggs, the toast, but they don't do anything with it! We don't have many true dishes. Whereas with Indian food and Thai food (I haven't tried Malaysian before) you get explosions of flavor...and in a very good way.

OMG YUM! To be honest I love all of these options😍 Both the Insian and Malaysian breakfasts are such comforting and amazingly spiced and flavourful dishes 😋 I personally have a sweet tooth and I remember really enjoying IHOPs pancakes, super fluffy and light and you can get them in soo many flavours🥞 Their omlets were also really good! Portions in IHOP were insane, even whenwe ordered the half-portions, but I do wish there was an IHOP in SG 😜👌

My rank: 1 American because pancakes. 2. Indian 3. Malaysian I'm Malaysian but that Malaysian breakfast is wayy too heavy for me..maybe fine for lunch but if I eat that I'd be feeling full all day which isn't good. I'd go for some noodles instead. I love spicy food but for breakfast I want something light. I'm not looking to have a party going on with my taste buds in the morning. I'd be eating something spicy anyway for dinner. So yeah pancakes, bit of fruit and coffee and I'm good rest of the day.

It was south Indian convicts who built early sg. I love southern food. I don't like spicy bf either but dosa aren't spicy. I take a 2 egg dosa for brunch weekends. Never eaten idly n I'm diabetic n definitely can't eat pancakes, American style. That nasi lemak looks sad. Where's d sambal? My fave is d rm 2 one that has wonderful sambal n not much else. I go JB to pack it home. used to be 1rm. I ladle 2 scoops.of.chilli.over my chicken rice so it's not a bf food to me, esp.if the hawker made it with chilli padi! How's things on d job front, Kumar? like sub n comment to help. Ps is that an American friend who said dosa looks sad? It's made from toddy, fermented coconut flower sap n there's a chance of being poisoned to death. Too, too exciting 😅 Chinese also have a sponge cake made from toddy.
