Indian Scout Bobber 21 | Zipper's MaxFlow Air Filter Upgrade
In this video I upgrade the ugly stock Indian Scout Bobber air filter for the much sexier & improved Zipper's MaxFlow Intake System. Designed for the Indian Scout, Scout 60 and Victory Octane, but it also fits the Indian Scout Bobber.
For more info on the potential improvements of the Zipper's MaxFlow Intake check out www.zippersperformance.com/ai...
I’ve owned the Indian Scout Bobber 2021 for around 2.5 years now. It had it's 10'000 mile service a while ago and was due to have the air filter replaced, however, due to a stock shortage it wasn't done at the time, so I've been riding around with what's probably been a compromised airflow!
Well no longer dagnamit! I decided it was time to replace & upgrade. To add something special while still maintaining the potential of tuning at a later date.
Any questions about the install or other mods I’ve done, just let me know and I’ll do my best to answer 😉

I just want to thank everyone who checked out the video so far. 1000 views and counting 🎉 I’m glad it was useful for anyone considering a similar upgrade or even if it was just mildly entertaining for some of you. Stay Groovy & Safe Riding 😎
I love watching these videos and seeing everyone struggle taking off the stock intake like I did lol.
UPDATE: I noticed after the install, that I could smell petrol or exhaust fumes, maybe both! After a comment from someone about where I placed the filter, I thought I’d re-route it to the side of the bike and allow it to be more exposed, allowing any fumes or smells to vent easier, so I’ll see if that helps. Bike’s still running great though, so obviously it’s better even with the stock fuel map, of course getting a custom tune to my setup would improve further, however, I’ll provably hold off until I replace the actual exhaust at some stage.

Could you show us how you re-routed the filter to the side of the bike? Cheers!

@albinalm5194 yeah I can do. I’m away to Japan next week and weathers a bit garbage to do much outside, but I can sort something out at some stage.

@@ShaunPaulJohnston awesome! I love the look of some Harley Davidson with side mounted intake.
Love that filter definitely better than oem one . And sounds great.

Yeah I saw it a while ago and though, aye, I’ll be having that 😂 I’ll get the bike out tomorrow and see if I can feel or hear any difference from the stock one.
You will notice more intake noise when you open up the throttle. Enjoy!

Is it a good noise though? I guess it’s too late now 😂
So I managed to get a short ride on the bike last night and then driving to work this morning and yes, I can definitely feel and hear a difference. I’m pretty sure it’s not placebo either, there’s definitely more grunt when opening the throttle and I also think it feels a little smoother. Additionally its got more power, which I noticed when I pulled into the fast lane and got some wheel spin without meaning to.
Hey nice video. I got some questions. Did you change something of the fuel intake? I read about that you have to change the amount of gasoline injection after change? Does the engine got hotter after the change?

I personally didn’t, from what I was reading, with only the air filter and mufflers being changed, it was probably ok. However there’s a chance I could benefit from a retune but do far the bikes running well enough as far as I can tell. I’ve not noticed any other changes besides the noise when you open the throttle fully, which sounds even deeper
Hello, it's something I have in mind to change after putting the vance I have in the garage.... By the way, what grips are you wearing? Cheers

Hey @Xarly, cheers for checking out the video. Yeah, slowly upgrading parts here and there myself when I can, still lots to do in the coming months/years. The grips are from Trip Machine, this is the tobacco brown I think 🤔
The new filter seemed to sit a bit higher than the stock filter. Was it? Did the fuel tank have to sit higher?

Not at all, fits perfectly. Is maybe just an optical illusion but there was no issues with fitment
i love those shocks. what are they?

Whats the area in front that the stock cleaner connects to? There must be a purpose.

@@gregwarner9624 unsure, possibly they planned for something there and never added it, or is used in other models and not the Scout
Have you got a fuelpak fitted on it

What a trash design. I wondered why the fuel capacity was so low.

Yeah it would be nice to have a bit bigger fuel tank. I can push about 120-130 miles from a full tank, normally just topping up around 115 miles.
