@SANJEEV KUMAR YADAV 2-3 din me headquarter wapas aana hota h but lobby to lobby thoda bahut aage peeche ho jata h. Ab family HQ station me h ya kahi aur ye bhi matter karta h. Mere papa almost daily ghar aate the but sabke saath ye possible nhi ho pata.

@@Amit-cm2gp 80k plus is the salary of a Mail express guard if his millage is not very high. If millage is high then 1lac is also possible. PS. Millage is kilometers he did his duty in the month.

Saw few comments stating they never saw a Guard performing such duties. He is assisted by C&W staff who tell him about coaches as you cant expect him to perform the below mentioned things and things mentioned in video to be done in just five to ten minutes. In a proper running of train with economic benefits C&W, Commercial, Loco, Engineering, RE, RPF and many more departments take part. It is the post of Guard साहब that serves as coordinating agent among these different departments. If you imagine IR to be a human being with different parts of body as different departments then you can say that the part above the shoulder belongs to Operating department and Guard is the neck of the human body connecting different departments to Operating. You can live with one hand, one leg one kidney but you cant live without your head and it is your neck that provides balance to the head and connects it to the rest of the body. From keeping record of PW Bills received from Commercial, OPRs 22 received from C&W, Escort of RPF personnel to safety of train in a block section which comprise 95% of Railways, maintenance of proper detention memo, everything is done by Guard, some of the mentioned above have to be done before the departure of train from the station he took charge while others to be done in the block section. The section between two consecutive stations is known as block section. In a block section duty of LP/ALP, TTEs/TSs (in case of Mail/Rajdhani) and even of RPF personnel is defined, but just as in family, duty of head of family is not defined so is with Guard. In case of any emergency or grievance to the train in a block section and even at station it is the Guard who is the In-charge with every responsibility on his shoulders. At stations where crew of train changes it is the Guard who informs that whether his train is ready to receive the starter signal or not, as fuelling of Locos(in case of diesel engine), loading and unloading of parcels, safety of ladies coach is ensured or not. Every staff perform his duty and informs the Guard that they have done their duty and then Guard tells the ASM that my train is ready to receive its proceed signal. Even after getting the proceed signal the LP will not proceed unless the Guard tells him to do so. Sometimes C&W staff don't perform their duty properly (like filling up of water in coaches and many other such thing). Passengers complain about this to TTEs who reports the same to Guard(sometimes the passengers are smart enough to complain directly to the Guard) and then Guard makes sure the filling of water or any other such problem is solved. The duty of Guard is very complex and it is a tough task to explain it to an outsider (not a part of Railways) so they have given a brief description of his job profile. At last just one request to everyone, no Guard expect a thanks from anyone but it hurts when someone says that Guard don't perform any task and just sit in his Brake or when you guys talk about him or to him in a disrespectful manner like Guard aaya instead of Guard aae. At least they do deserve some respect. Proud son of a Railway Guard.
