There's a difference between sledging and friendly banter. Australia's matches involves sledging which is personal and racial most of the times which is not on. Cricket only has place for friendly banter, not sledging.

If sledging is restricted to calling the opponent a bad batsman or bad bowler or something along those lines, i'm fine with that. It is ugly and cannot be justified when it goes beyond that. What baffles me the most is how the Australians after having ripped their opponent's personal life apart on the field put up a friendly face to greet them outside the field and call it "sportsmanship". If your mind is capable of stooping that low to get things done then it means you are inherently a bad person and all that sportsmanship is mere facade.

I think it was Rohit at the end? (I don’t follow cricket at all sorry!) He summed it up so well and spoke beautifully. Australians are hurt. This is not us. It’s not in our culture to cheat and we really hate it when anyone does, hence why the CA gave Smith and Warner a year suspension. So this has really hurt the whole of Australia. It’s good to see someone can really understand that. He’s a true gentleman.

Much bigger crime was performed by harbhajan who slapped sreesanth and he himself was punished for only 5 one day ban 😒 I was a fan of these players but they lost my respect with such hypocrisy.

I don't see a language problem with Rohit Sharma but i guess he couldn't collect the thoughts for random speech. Here he just replicates what DK says and that too he lags a lot. Dead Man May be they should speak in two languages, perhaps not always but whenever they can. At present, they do not have a natural flair. I understand your dilemma as if Harbhajan being a Punjabi were to speak in Punjabi, I will struggle too but in those situations, I yearn for subtitles in English. We do not develop our translation industry because we keep switching to English. It can provide employment to lot of people. We need a rethink on language as I am not saying that all should accept Hindi but I am saying that wherever possible they should first say in their own language and if they want to translate because of people like Johnty then they can repeat the same in English. All these channels should have in their video department, a translation department which should translate everything that is spoken whether or not any one repeats the same in English. My feeling is that it will encourage people to be more precise in stating exactly what they desire. They won't be able to claim when controversy happens that they did not mean what they were saying as English is not their first language. Moreover, more people will be able to enjoy these cricketers if they were to speak in their own languages. Their influence can then go everywhere including in rural hinterland. People will be more proud of them. Unity does not come because of all speaking English but it will come by allowing all languages to be spoken at the same time. All will then be taking pride in other languages too. It will be proving to the world that we can be one people in spite of so many languages going together simultaneously. Anchoring will become quite a task then.
