INDIAN CLUBS | Sim D. Kehoe Exercise 16.
Today I'm going to talk about Sim D. Kehoe's exercise 16, out of his book that he published in 1866.
Exercise 16 is really interesting because it is done around the shoulders and round the head. It consists of a Moulinet that rolls to the front, and then Two Back Circles with the clubs crossing.
You can also do a asynchronous variation where you throw a Moulinet with one arm and a Back Circle with the other.
You can also break away from the start position by crossing your hands at the front, and then other way around, bringing them back to the front.
The start position, allows you to change directions so you can swing outward, parallel to the right, inward, and parallel to the left.
In this video, I will follow through I will swing all the transitions outward, parallel right, inward, parallel left, back to outward again.
Then I will turned around to show you a back view of the of the variations on the exercise that I like to do in a number of different combinations.

Historically Indian clubs were swung to music from 1830 till 1930. Drumming is used in the Zurkhaneh of Iran. I love to follow a rhythm, be it music or drums.
Спасибо ! Полезная информация.

The body cross is a great move, be sure not to allow your clubs to flare out to the sides. Always try to keep your clubs swinging on the sagittal plane. This means start your practice slowly and use a mirror/reflection for instant feeback.

Hi Paul I was wondering if you sell the clubs you use in this video or could you please let me know how to purchase some. Thanks

Hi Daryl, I custom make and sell clubs. I can make you a pair of the clubs in the video, I would have to source the timber before I can give you a price. FYI the clubs in this video are modelled from Kehoe Clubs, they are 23" in length and weigh 2.5lbs each. I can adjust the weight up if needed. Let's talk.

@@Wolkowinski no problem with that Paul. I have a few different sizes in steel but I suspect that the wooden ones will have a better feel. How can I get in contact offline/private messages?
