Ritwick _ thats a fair point. But from operating in these environments, I can tell you, this is not common place, tactically it’s not good at all, it is merely done for cinematic effect, looks cool, but never used. Thanks for your comment however, great to have feedback from you all. Respect to you all brother

Indian army is the best in the world when it comes to high altitude mountain warfare and controls the world's highest non-polar glacier in the Himalayan moutains where the temperature ranges from -25°C to over -50°C, at an altitude of near 19,000 ft. Having fought more than 4 wars in past half century along with the daily terrorist activities, the experience is what makes them stand out despite not having the best and latest weaponary in the world. At that height and temperature a lot of them might get jammed or stop functioning.

Since 1984 the Indian and Pakistani armies have faced each other on the Siachen Glacier, in the disputed territory of Kashmir, at a height of up to 6,700 m (22,000 ft), in temperatures as low as -60°C (-76°F). At this altitude, they are higher than climbers standing at the summits of the tallest mountains in Africa, North America, Australasia, Europe, and Antarctica. Reports suggest that Pakistan spends as much as $588,000 (£354,000) a month and India about $1 million (£603,355) a month maintaining troops on the glacier. Almost all of the war's 2,000 personnel casualties (between 1984-1997) have been due to the extreme weather conditions.
