Sachin was Criticised as Bad Captain but He came close to victories Over seas Some of his Decisions were really good Sad he wasnt Supported properly , Even Laxman made Debut in His Captaincy :) But he found his soft spot in middle order only problem was bowling dept it clicked Sometimes failed There was no consistancy

What a memory, scintillating cricket match it was. I remember sachin’s brutal 41 of 26 balls, then Ganguly playing his role and finish by Kanitkar. Next day while town was discussing nothing but this victory. First ever 300 plus chase by India if I remember correctly.

I still can remember the thrilling of the last boundary by Kanitkar. So many tables & chairs were broken in jumping after the last 4 of Kanitkar........there was a DIWALI like environment all around after this match. On next day, news was coming in news paper that somebody got heart attack and died, saying 4,4,4,4 after watching the last 4 of Kanitkar ..... A truck driver left his hand from steering while he was listening the live match in radio when Kanitkar hit that last 4 and caused accident.........somebody jumped from 1st floor........ and so many........This was the greatest ODI match of all time.

I remember this match! We were all glued. Sourav played well but for me the man of the match will always be Robin Singh. He was at that time the Bevan India had got.

match ended at around 5:15 on a cold Sunday evening, it was the month of Ramadan, india won exactly 1 min before the fasting time was over, adhe se zada logo ne 1 min pehle he Roza khol liya tha patakho ki awaaz sunkar, itne zada involved tha India us waqt cricket me.. Childhood memories resurrected Sachin was everywhere then in every house One man show..what a Match winner he was billions of hope on one shoulder ..no one can ever match him..pure imotional days were those far beyond money like todays

this perticular match, & kolkata test match 2001 against Australia, VVS Laxman played 281 run innings, are 2 incidents, which changed global image of Indian team of easily surrendering team into transforming into a strong fighter team which fights till the last breath !

Who can forget this match? Earlier, for many years, it was only a loss for us, in the final against Pakistan. This match changed the Indian cricket's mindset. With Sehwag's entry, after a few months, the mindset changed upside-down

OMG...i remember when i was a kid , during this match i had to study as a punishment and suddenly i heard neighbours shouting and clapping with joy, ppl in my society came out , there were firecrackers bursting continuously and full on party..lol the next day at school my freinds were teasing me like "how could u not see this match?? Kanitkar was a hero" ..lol it was simply amazing, those childhood memories..!

I started to see cricket when Sachin started playing for India twenty five years back and given up cricket after he retired. only see even today recorded matches of Sachin. but it is for sure coz of immense faith and confidence had in Sachin , made me to bet in favour of him and today I have become bankrupt. still all these I love my god Sachin.

This match was fixed from Azhar.. but sourav, robin singh and kanitkar changed the result against fixing.from 1994 to 99 most of triangular cricket tournaments final were fixed. Kanitkar never got further few more chance after this big contribution in such high voltage match. Actually it was his punishment from the gang of match fixer.

I was 8 years old.....I still remember because it was my first match in stadium....Dhaka bangabandhu stadium.. . Bangladesh

Still remember this day, I was hardly 11 years old- There was a power outage in our colony and there was only one TV put outside on the street by the TV repair shop guy. The entire street must have watched this match on that single TV. Good old days! TV repair shop businesses are no more, neither is the camaraderie that people used to share.

Back in the days, when Sri lanka, Pakistan & Australia used to celebrate Sachin's wicket as if they won the world cup.. until 2000 it was Sachin only (til Dravid & Ganguly get the form)

actually the bad light was the main problem.. in the latter part of the indian innings, it was evident no one could actually see the ball properly!!

Robin's 82 and those 5 runs from Srinath were important too

Kanitkar registered immortal name in indian cricket only due to this match..remember watching each and every ball of this match at a jam packed electronics shop as the cable TV used to be in very few homes those days..

He was ready to get hurt. Pakistanis tried to hurt him. This was the day when he won the match for INDIA and respect for him from every INDIAN. I watched final moments of this match at a roadside tent in Mumbai. When Kanitkar hit four, the whole group screamed. Sadly this was the only best moment for Kanitkar. He never made it big for India.

This was a historic match. For the first time in the history of ODI a 300+ total was successfully chased.

No there was a match in 1992 between sri lanka and zimbabwe when 300 got chased but at that time in 1998 this was the highest chase, the difficulty level in this match is much more than any,as this was a 48 over chase and the last 15 overs were played in very poor light.The ball was hardly seen well.Dadas wicket bowled by aaqib javed is an example that he didnt even see the ball.The difficulty level is atleast about chasing 375 today atleast if not more taking into consideration the par 50 over score would have been 330 by extrapolation and atleast 15-20% inflation in runs due to two new balls,grounds being smaller and no reverse swing anymore at the backend of the innings as well as one extra fielder less outside the thirty yard circle.

I still remember the scores robin Singh 82 , Ganguly 124 and Sachin 41 and kanithkar winning shot. This is the first cricket match i remember. I was 9 when the match happened. I still remember watching this match in our poor visuals solidaire TV...

Great Start by Great Sachin Tendulkar.

This is the most remembered and ingrained in my memory match .. India has had such tight finishes yet this match where just two bowlers took it to the victory point where Indians had given up and Pakistanis were already celebrating after Sachin's wicket .. 😊

Now a days anybody rarely talks about Robin Singh. He might not have been technically great but had a big big heart. And was never scared of anything.... Salute sir

I was in 4th standard when this happened, those days anything above 250 was considered very difficult. I remember watching it with my entire family and talking about it all day with my friends in school the following day, good times.

sachin blistring knock laid the foundation of india. his innings of 41 in just 26 balls evens the runs and balls difference and also disturb the line and length of pakistan bowlers.

It is the baap of all T20 batting ,somebody was telling me one day that Tendulkar did not play enough T20 matches.I told him the guy was playing T20 style throughout his one day career😂 just need to watch an innings like this ,the one against New Zealand when he opened first time and the 20 over match in 89 where he smashed the Great Abdul Qadir.😅

Can never forget this match. Me and my friend, we were in 9th standard and watched the last overs in our tuition centre it was Indian Team's ritual that time when Sachin gets out the whole team falls like pack of cards but this match was on a different level. When Kanitkar hit that last 4, it was celebrations and fire crackers and tuition was over half an hour early. What a great memory !

Please watch the first final bro.. this is the second final. Sachin hit 6-7 sixes off saqlain and mustaq ahmed. Made 91 of 78 balls if i remember correctly

vinay pandey You're quite wrong (yet so confident). This was the 3rd final. India won 2-1. Rashid Latif also alludes to the fact in his post-match interview with Shastri. You should be more careful before stating something so confidently..

This is the only final in ODI history in which India beat Pakistan ..... Otherwise Pakistan beat India 8 times !!! From Australasia Cup 1986 to Champions Trophy 2017 😱

Who compares kohli and sachin except some 2008 born kids???sachin can only be compared with bradman..in terms of handling pressure,he can only be compared with one person..that man's name is sachin ramesh tendulkar...

Robin Singh and Chris Harris both were genuinely talented all rounders

India's Tail (Last 4 Batsmen) was really bad at that time..... and with an average Middle-order, defeat was certain if India were 4 wkts down.. ... i think Yuvraj was the key who gave strength to the Tail by coming in at No.5/6 followed by Mohd.Kaif...

My favorite player DADA forever. because his strong mind and strategies. He is like a warrior who knows how to fight.

the way Pakistani celebrated Sachin's dismissal. it says everything.. but this match was an epic..I still remember Jan 1998 and people in India celebrated this victory as diwali..Dada and Robin singh was brilliant..and in last Kanitkar..who became unforgettable after hitting that boundary.. thanks for uploading

When sachin got out....I was crying like a kids.....when the match is over.....and india win .......i was in amazed.

Wow wat a mtach..wat a memory..Just awesome..proud 2 be 90s kids to witness such epic, historic match..still fresh in memory :)

1998 Sachin was Don.....of Batting he also played great knocks Vs Australia same year.

I was 20 then, brought back memories. First tension then ecstasy and then the expletives!

I had stopped watching after the anwar-ejaz show and was so sad...at the start of india innings I heard my uncle saying-Tendulkar is off to a flyer ...so some hope...then there was a powercut just before I cd switch on tv...boy was that the longest power cut in which I prayed to god....then we arranged for a battery transistor to hear relay...and I remember with gr8 joy it was something around 200 in 30 odd overs for just 1 wicket when finally we started listening live..which was a superb score in those days and hope of victory was rekindled...after some time power came back on and we finally witnessed history being made..was personally a gr8 fan of dada...and when we won it was just 10 minutes of total ecstasy and the moments were of hysteria and disbelief !!!this was the most ecstatic win I have ever gone through in my years of watching odi(this wd be followed by 2008 t20 wc final,the two Tendulkar desert storms,and obviously the 2011 wcfinal....INDIA WON AGAINST PAKISTAN with WORLD RECORD CHASE & SOURAV SCORED CENTURY...it was just a dream match.

Breathtaking Inning. Watched this match in my village at neighbourhood. Almost all were sure that India will loose after Pak made 314 which is considered to be impossible to chase at that time...But Dada, Sachin and Robin Singh made it possible. And who will forget that brilliant much needed four by Kanitakar..!! This are golden memories. Always love to cherish again and again. Thank you for uploading it

I remember each ball of this match.... Azhar,Jadeja,Sidhu, the 3 most experienced(at that time) could not show that day... but the day was for sachin,robin singh and sourav ganguly
