India's Infrastructure Problem

India is the second largest country in the world by population and is located in Asia. India's population has been rapidly growing through the past few decades, so fast that the government has not been able to keep up with the immense population's needs. Through the video, i explain why India was designed so terribly, and the new, Envisioning India 2030 Plan that hopes to fix the country.
The 2030 Plan is an incredible project that hopes to fix most of the infrastructure problems India is facing. The plan also hopes to improve India's public transit system and transition to sources of renewable energy. More citizens requires more infrastructure, so this plan hopes to set India up, for a bright future.
India is a country located in the continent of Asia. India is home to the Taj Mahal, and the second largest population in the world, with over 1.3 Billion People. While India is a great country, most of its cities are lacking key infrastructure that's needed to support such a large population. The India 2030 Plan will fix all of this, and will drastically improve the city in less than 10 years.

If this video was made 10 years ago, I would have agreed with you. Bangalore has worse traffic than Delhi. Delhi has one of best public transit sytem in the country. Delhi pollution isn't due to vehicles but burning of agricultural waste in regions near to delhi. Power outages rarely happen now. The only time outages happened last year were due to coal shortages which happened everywhere.

Western countries got to redesign their infrastructure because of World wars, as major cities got bombarded during these wars. This wasn't the case with India, that's the reason why today's India isn't well planned. Also you need to consider this, people on this subcontinent have been living for thousands of years, so the well thought out modern day city planning for this old civilizational society is far fetched idea. Although some might point out to well planned cities in Ancient India like Harappa, etc but my take on them is that they were destroyed long ago without proper knowledge transfer. 🤞 for the future of 🇮🇳

I will tell you why, for las 1000 years india was under foreign rule and the things never got planned because every invader would just destroy the city. During the british time the British just focused on infrastructure of places where they stayed so never really designed the city and it was all a mess. After independence people from rural area started coming to cities for job and started buying land and houses without any proper regulations and government didn't had any money to plan and build the city properly. Now there are very serious isse city like delhi but if you go outwards from delhi you will see proper roads, building, transit and thats because when delhi was full and more people were coming a board was setup to plan the cities where people can stay, buy homes etc and since then it has become quite ironic that the main city is less developed than satellite cities. Most of the houses built in Delhi is also illegal and doesn't follow any regulation plus there are many illegal immigrants who have settled in delhi but people don't bring a proper government to the power because current government of delhi is giving freebies and supporting illegal activities which is slowly decaying the city. They water supply board is in debt because of freebies, the electricity companies are in debt due to freebies, number of busses have reduced to half because even after getting money from center government isn't buying busses, metro is in loss after pandemic, crime rates have increased, there is no water treatment plant and they yamuna river which was supposed to be used as inland waterways smells and looks like sewage. If we want to make the city better then we have to stop the freebies and bring another government but I don't thing it will happen before 2025, it's sad to see my city in this state but it is what it is.

These were basically the paths where merchants travelled on horses. The roads grew and weren't fit for vehicles. Now the Gov't invested almost 1.6 trillion for next 5 years, only in improving and building roads .

I'm sorry dude ,but I'm gonna have to call the bullshit on this one. I've been to Europe and to Delhi. And I gotta say, Delhi public transport is 100% better than London public transport.

@@Shivammishra98643 easy reply. London metro is way too old where as Delhi metro is relatively new and is more modern. In terms of connectivity, both are face to face but Delhi metro takes the case in pricing as well. Delhi metro is pretty cheap compared to London metro as well.

The traffic in Indian cities does not need expensive things like metros or flyovers to be solved. What is needed are bus lanes to encourage public transport and discourage private vehicles. Metros are very harmful for the environment.
