India's Best School? | Ep.2 Gems of India | Dhruv Rathee
Around 40 kms from the touristic city of Jaisalmer, lies a magical school. A school which has completely reimagined the way of teaching, building and training students. This is the Rajkumari Ratnavati School in Rajasthan. Built by an NGO called CITTA, it is a building made of sustainable materials, implementing the use of solar panels and rain water harvesting system along with traditional architectural style. This school provides free education to 400 below poverty line girls in one of the most backward regions of India in terms of female illiteracy and female unemployment.

I'm also from Rajasthan. In my village there is no doctor yet. I'm doing mbbs and going to be the first doctor in my village. 🙏🏻 In this journey I had so many struggles. Because my school is 7 km away from my village so I have to cover this distance by walking in 45°c temp. And when I dreamt to be a doctor there are so many people's who laughs on me but now they all are silent. In rajasthan villages seeking education is also a big struggle. But these type of good project can change the whole society's mindset and illiteracy.✨

Seriously this shows just how much Education is important! The first lady didn't even understand what does 'Desh' mean. It just gave me chills! Truth of the matter is still a large number of men in India just marry so that they will have a 'permanent naukrani' in their homes whose work is just to feed them and bear their child. They don't want women to get educated at all!! It's by our own choices that our country stays backward! Thanks Dhruv for such episodes, it really goes to show there are still good people out there!

Agar ye paisa direct education ya rojgar pr lagaya jata toh shayad accha hota. Aur aapne kaha ki rojgar hoga tabhi education ke baare me log sochenge pr aisa nahi hai. Uneducated person ko jyada accha rojgar nahi mil sakta us se wo keval pet bhar sakta hai ( kabhi kabhi wo bhi nahi 😢) padhai likhai toh bahut dur ki baat hai toh technically wo education afford nahi kar sakta. Agar government direct ye paisa education industry pr lagaye toh india ki litracy rate increase hogi then sabhi ko sahi tareeke se rojgar bhi milega. Finally india ki economy bhi increase hogi naa ki Statue of Unity ko Dekhkar.

Despite allocating the budget of ₹1,12,000 crores on education , A US based NGO is involved in one of the most ambitious project that was meant to fullfill by the Government as their part of responsibility. The fact astounshes me that some social media pages were misleading/promoting the government for this unique innovative initiative.. Shame and tight slap together to bureaucracy who once took the oath for the betterment of nation. 😄 We are deeply thankful to CITTA for bringing up and accomplishing this ambitious initiative and we wish for the accomplishments of this project..
No one will understand the struggle of water in ragisthan of Rajasthan these women are definitely not that lliterate but so pure from heart. They are traveling miles for few liters of water huge respect for mother's of Rajasthan.

Why this best school is only for girls? At least 50% boys should also allowed to read . Isn't this discrimination on gender?

@@Vivekkumar111This is called protective discrimination, as you could see that the people thinik that only girls should learn house work and the boys are not taught anything this mentallity should change that's why it is very important to educate the girls so that they can educate their future generation!!
People from different community coming together for such a noble cause is truly worthy of praise. Our political leaders must learn from them 😀 Hope our future generations will rise above the difference of caste / religion and bring peace to India 🙏

I really agree with dhruve rathee that rajasthan is really the richest state in terms of historical monuments and culture. I live in odisha . In odisha there are lots of holy temples but none of our monuments match the beauty of the forts and havelis of rajasthan. Rajasthan attracts so many tourists because of its beauty and culture . I am not saying that odisha temples are bad , they are very beautiful too. But the thing is rajasthan 's forts and monuments attracts eye more than a temple.

That is because most of our odia temples are either new or reconstructed.... they don't match up to the beauty that was commonplace before.

@@Vivekkumar111 boys have more facilities in general than girls. there are schools where most students are boys bcuz many girls are traditionally not allowed to study in schools. so thats y, as girls are falling behind, more girl schools should be made. at this point of time, this would create a balance. however, in the future when everyone has equal access to education, making girl schools where only girls are allowed will be a discrimination for boys. bcuz in that case, girls will be getting an extra advantage. but now, girl schools just make the situation balanced.

@@Vivekkumar111 Because the women (and girls) have been especially disadvantaged in the past. Having some projects dedicated to erasing those disadvantages for women, does not equal discrimination against men. In the future, ideally we would have equal opportunities for everyone!

I am from Jaisalmer and I have seen this school many times with my eyes, it is very nice,
Well done, we need more Non Profit organisations like this. this woudnt have been possible without the locals support. thx dhruv for bringing this out on the youtube.
I hope our Indian architects will get some inspiration from this project. The amazing blend of culture and modernism, instead of those same old designs if we can create something like these that would be perfect to showcase India's great culture to the world and will be intriguing to them as well. And I'm quite sure it's not even that expensive as well.

There are such school constructed by Indian architects as well, one such example is in Bhikangaon, khargone, Madhya Pradesh fully sustainable as well. Please go through some research before posting

I am a frequent traveller in that area. Most of the Hindu and Jain temples (also the Fort) are also cool inside despite being 45+ outside. Glad that this school will bring a thought among modern architect about architecting buildings in sustainable manner.

Once I visited golkunda fort in Hydrabad i experienced there the air flow and cooling by water it was very nice nd far far better the modern air conditions . ancient architecture was much advanced then our modern technology..
