Amul is an emotion in India. It has become synonymous with dairy products. Amul not only did start a white revolution in India but also saved lakhs of farmers from exploitation. Starting from forced impregnation (rape) by human shoving his hands inside the uterus of the cow/buffalo to make them pregnant and then separate their babies as otherwise the baby would drink all the milk. Kill the male calves as they don't give milk and let me females live the same fate as that of the mother.

My grandma told me her father used to bring her Polson butter in 1960s and it was such a huge deal back then for an average family to afford butter and now a days we simply don't care about how much products we waste mercilessly. 🙂

The reason Amul's product quality has been maintained for so long is that it isn't listed on the stock exchange. Amul might have been one of the largest asset-valued companies today, but a stock exchange listing would've increased the likelihood that Amul being acquired by large corporations like Adani for financial gain, which would've resulted in a decline in the quality of the company's output. It's best the company's directors are chosen democratically by the union members rather than the shareholder with the largest number of shares.

Hey , I am from Anand, Gujarat and i can very proudly say that AMUL is one of the great company in terms of milk products. Here in Gujrat you'll only find AMUL milk products in every household i can bet you that.Also, amazing thing is I live near Dr. Kurian' s old house.

While pursuing my masters at NID, Ahmedabad I had the opportunity to visit Anand and the AMUL factory. Anand is a beautiful place and people are really friendly and kind. I was working on a classroom project and during my research I found out that female students at schools were performing better than male students. But the catch was that most of them would get married right after school. May be some initiatives should be taken around encouraging women to continue their education and provide for the further growth and development of Anand. EDIT: Thank you everyone for the likes. I apologize if my comment has come across as sexist to some people and hurt their sentiments in anyway. My intention was not to start a battle between both the genders but only to state my research findings.
