Thanks for posting this man. Really helped me sort it out. I used a small bottle brush for cleaning out the condenser and used gaffer tape to hold the lock clamp in place on the lower connector. This stopped it "walking" around the connector neck so I could get it tight with the socket on the nut with the bendy extension.

Thank you so much for this video!! It was awkward, but I managed to do it without detaching the wires or taking apart the motor. Just by detaching the motor from the barrel and shifting it slightly to the side. (I even left it connected to the front--no zip tie cutting). It helps to have a second person pull the drum out of the way and gently shift the motor to access the screw and remove the condenser.

Just wanted to say a big thank you for this video... was about to buy a new machine, but luckily thought to search youtube. The gunk in the drier outlet / plastic chamber was disgusting! Totally blocked. Now working as good as new, drier literally better than I ever remember it being! Thank you :)

Glad to know I helped. I've still got mine, it's overdue a clean actually as I find for me the performance drops off after 2 years. It's been 3 years, but I've not been using the drier function as much as I used to.

After buying 2 new sensors which didn't fix the problem, found your videos. Thank you, Thank you. spent an hour disassembling and yes my tank was thick with fur, I was able to clear most by getting my fingers deep into the tank.then washing out the rest. and oh god getting at and retightening that damn screw on the bottom tank seal. however in the end all done and working perfectly. no doubt in a couple of years I'll have to do it again. Cheers mate this video saved my bacon. :)

Hi, thanks for making this vid. I'm so glad you mentioned WD-40 to get the bottom part of the condenser back on. I messed around for several hours with mine before finding this video and the oil trick. Now struggling a bit with the loop and screw so the condenser is leaking but will persevere. I phoned for help today and the repairman (who said the condenser is a nightmare and he wasn't interested) said he would throw a few kettles of hot water down and loosen the lint with a coat hanger rather than remove. Less effective than removal but maybe would do the trick for some. Fingers crossed I can get the screw in to the second loop! (Update edit - I was putting the screw first through the narrow loop but it went on easier through the wider loop and then just catching on the narrower one. Got a small drip from condenser so another attempt to go. Think it's because the loop isn't catching the rubber all the way around.)

All done now. Very slow drip but attached some sponge and will check a possible hairline crack as per your suggestion on a comment below. My machine is a Hotpoint WDL540 P C and everything is identical inside. I'm just watching the video again to decompress and recover now! Thinking about it, that coat hanger idea likely wouldn't work since the filter at the bottom of the condenser would still be clogged. Thanks again for this video.

Thank you so much for this video. Been fighting an E13 error. Replaced the temperature sensor but didn't help. Started to poke at other bits and it was full of crud, though not much had made its way down to the filter. In the process of reassembling everything and crossing everything else that it works. EDIT: Reader, it worked. Thanks again Tip for reassembling the filter - of the three prongs, only one of them fits in the hole in the plastic condenser outlet. Bit of pushing the drum out of the way and you can get it back in, in one. Think that may help with reseating the seal as well.

My thin rubber gasket had glue points round the casing, nearly bent the heater element. Found the awkward bolt/screw easier with a screwdriver. No rust marks on bottom casing. But we don't use the dryer that often. Good video, thank you, especially with that xxxxxxx screw😁

Thanks for this video. What a horribly designed piece of machinery. I have already pulled mine out and replaced it with a standalone dryer as I now have space for it since movjng (with easily accessible filters , what a luxury!!). I will clean this pipe and then it saves the machine going to the tip when it could be good for someone to use even temporarily.

I have bought a reconditioned hotpoint Aquarius washer dryer and it’s made by indesit it says… so I am assuming this happens to all indesit/hotpoint/whirlpool 2in1 machines? I have a little indesit 4kg dryer but like you for my work uniforms I set it to wash and dry so I can just stick them straight on in the morning it’s a very handy feature 💯🙂 never owned one before bar 20 years ago briefly but this looks a nightmare I don’t want to be doing this lol 😫

It took me 4 hours with my Candy. The problem I wasn't able to unscrew it, so I simply brushed it as well as I could and vacuumed it. As a result, the drying works 😊, but smells like mold 😮. I'll try to disinfect the washing machine and check if it helps.

Great video- thanks... But, whatever way one looks at this, washer/dryer, the design is absolutely dreadful. Most puzzled why the filter, and filter tube, has no form of access panel in place, to enable the user, swift access to the parts, to then clean them or replace them.

Hi ,very nice video it helped me a lot. I made opening and cleaning as shown. Issue that I have after put back to service is small water leak from this rubber sealing, the one that is kept by screw with spring. I hear click during installation ,but apparently it is not seating properly . I will repeat it hehe . Design is distaster . There is litteraly no space . In my case I have even less space ,because my unit is installed and covered by structure so it is very hard to even turn the unit. Tip dont buy small apartments where everything has to be meassured. 😀🤣

Did it today, what an agony for the first time! There is a trick with the bottom condenser holder, when you remove it you can turn it around so you can screw the screw a lot easier from the bottom side directly with a screwdriver, it is a lot more accessible in that way

I also found that when I took it off, so I shifted it to a more accessible place as well-- should make the job much easier next time! Edit: just tried it but it ended up pushing against the plastic of the drum. Tried a few other options but ended up having to switch it back to normal. Still, at least I have the knack for it next time.

I did this today on my indesit wd12x - it was caked in lint. I reattached the tank to the drum and it's seated properly and tight - but there is a teeny tiny leak/weep when in use from the bottom gasket. It may well have been leaking before - but how concerned should I be of this?

I've just finished this job on my machine and have the exact same very slow drip. I cut rectangles of a sponge cloth and cut a slit in each by folding them in half then pushed them on to the hard plastic tab that sticks out at the bottom beneath the condenser's lowest point, where the drips gather. Sponge should absorb and dry out with each cycle since it's a tiny leak. Just seen Liam's suggestion about the condenser and there is a thin line at the bottom of mine and I have been pushing hard to get it on, so maybe that is a hairline crack. Will look into that too and seal if so. This whole job took me three half days, some blood, almost tears and yoga-like stances to get at it all. On the plus side, it's the first time I've seen the dryer working properly! The fan was just a big spinning cotton ball...

The "spray" inlet of the condenser is supposed to also clean out lint. SO is that pipe a case of "bad design" or is this a common problem of all washer dryers?

  • @killcar5nbike2

    @killcar5nbike2

    2 жыл бұрын

I can't say if other machines suffer this problem. The whole set up is a poor design really. If a bloke in his kitchen can see problems in this design, and tumble driers have had lint traps since they were invented. One can only assume the person who designed this has either never done a load of laundry in their life, or just didn't care.

@@killcar5nbike2 YES. More or less alll "combos" suffers of lint on condensers. It also depend how many drying cycles you usually operate. Miele has a special clening program they suggest to operate after ALL drying cycles ... this definly vanish all promeses of energy saving ... but you know they are German. Anyhow some one should invent a simple "filter-Drawer" ejectable from the machine's topside. Something that operates stopping lint between the fan housing and the condenser pipe.

Hi Liam, First, thank you for your video, I didn’t realise with the first reply, you don’t realise how your video saved me, I did have an epic fail when doing mine, a bit fell out of my screwdriver into the machine, so I tipped the machine a bit and the water inlet pipe at the back (old pipe) snapped in half as I pushed to the side a bit too far. A bit of water did go in the machine so I wiped down and left it for about 5 days for any unseen water to evaporate. At least I mopped my floor 😂
