I just ordered this, what I like especially is that it looks so simple to use compared to our last machine which had tonnes of menus and options and even smart app connectivity which I don't need. It was confusing. Why don't more manufacturers make simple to operate machines like this with Manual controls, knobs and buttons ? I have to say, it's simplicity + 9Kg is it's main attraction to me.

General Comment : My 13 year old Hotpoint basic machine died ( electronics apparently ). The replacement Whirlpool has a Cotton cycle that is standard at 3hrs 50mins. After only a couple of washes, heavy towels come out feeling like cardboard on an 800rpm spin ( so not very fast ), are noticeably lighter, and feel a bit "threadbare" when dry. Two shirts deteriorated to the point that after 3 washes, when I was tucking them into my pants, my hand when through them ! So those longer cycles might get things clinically clean, but they wash the "life" out of things I think. So everything goes on "Mixed" cycle, that takes 1 hour. The "Rapid 30 minute" cycle is terrible : even a pea sized amount of detergent and when the cycle is complete, the drum is full of suds. So I guess there is a sweet spot between too long a cycle, and too short. For me, it's between 60 and 90 minutes.

Another great video ! I really like the short wash times. I think this is good for clothes that aren't very dirty ( eg a shirt worn over a t-shirt for an evening out ). I prefer being able to select the delay time by 30 minute increments all the way to 24 hours.

i bought the 1400 9kg one and I have to say yes it's a nice-looking washing machine but its the end of the spin that is the problem. with a 400 spin as your clothes, especially jeans still feel wet and when you have no choice but to dry them on your radiators your uPVC windows and doors are covered in condensation it's annoying avoid buying one and get something different unless you don't mind all the cons of the washer

Thanks for your video. My new Indesit machine is pretty good. I do find the wash cycle settings quite confusing compared to my old Miele machine. Also there is no prewash setting on this machine which I always found handy. What do you do if you want to prewash? Thank you

Hi , my machine isn't working properly. When turned on , the light come on but the play/pause botton keeps flashing , when it's pressed the door lock light comes on then the machine turns off by it self. Any tips on how I can fix it ?

so got the 1400 spin version yesterday, really like the 1 hr washes for freshen up. Not so keen on having 1400 spin and it only allowing me use it on 2 programs, kind of defeats the purpose of having manual control knob when it's not really manual, it makes absolutely no sense, just let the owners do what they want please ........ On program 1 and 2 I can only get 1000 max spin, that's a bit ridiculous. Overall though for the money I'm really happy, so simple to use and most of all, no complicated menus and ridiculous app connectivity no one needs in a washing machine. Just hope it lasts a lot longer than the 3 year old Samsung it replaces, had a Bosch only 3 years before that.

Great detail as usual but with my small kitchen, depth too much. I want to buy new filter coffee maker; would really appreciate a vlog on them. Thank you.

Never understand why they stopped a hot and cold mix. Surly it cost more to heat the water from cold.

everything now is down to cost, energy saving and water consumption. I think the general idea was that modern machines use a lot less water and by the time the hot water got from the hot tank the machine would be almost full. The other thing which is probably more relevant is that most machines today are designed to heat to 40 or less so it was probably deemed not needed because most people don't heat beyond 30 or 40. I think the old machines only used the hot water on 60 degree and higher programs anyway. It seems a ridiculous waste though considering the vast majority of People have endless amounts of hot water in the winter from their central heating system but as climate regulations get stricter and stricter it wouldn't surprise me to see the heating element removed altogether and we won't be allowed to heat the water at all. So much nonsense now in the name of saving the earth. I used to have a washer that had hot and cold fill and I used to run the hot water until it got hot then turned on the machine and monitored the temp via the manual thermostat, it would click at the temp of the water and let in cold as needed, it worked a treat, otherwise all that hot water I have in Winter would go to waste, now I know most People wouldn't have gone to the bother but I was happy enough that I got 40 or 50 deg washes for practically nothing. It costs hardly anything to turn the drum and pump out water compared to heating the water. Now, I can't do this and I have to pay for the heating element to do all the work and I don't have a manual thermostat. It would seem more environmentally friendly to use existing hot water but it would probably cost too much for a monitoring system to mix the water to the right temp, it was fine back in the day when people washed at 60 or higher temps because the hot water in the tank would probably have been around 60 anyway. This is another reason I can't understand why people use 9 kw electric showers to heat water when there's tonnes of water heated by the central heating for most of the year, the Summers are very short and the heating is going most of the year or at least half so I use the immersion for the times I don't have the heating on, yes I know the immersion heats more than I need but in reality we use the water anyway so it heats just about enough for our needs and it's not that warm by the end of the day. You could buy hot fil washers for homes with solar hot water heating but they probably cost a bomb but not sure if they still make them.

Hi there. I bought the 1400 version of this model. Is it normal that when I set this up for a program and press the go button I have to press the on/off button for the program to start? If I don't the drum moves ever so slightly then the door unlocks. Worried it will cause issues down the line. Many thanks, Aaron

You shouldn't have to press the on and off button for it to start. I am not sure if it is a fault with it, if it is within the 12 months warranty i would contact Indesit on 03448 224 224 to see if they can help.

Hi, I wanted to ask, will I find good washers below £300? Also what is the average price for washers nowadays, as I bought mine 8 years ago and now it's broken , bought for £200. Also what do you think of bush washers? Theyre really cheap but are they really any good or are they bad? Thanks😊

To be honest we don't deal with Bush as a brand as they are mainly available in the multiples like Argos. We don't get that good feedback from customers though that have had a machine for 18 months then come to us to buy another machine. It really depends on the brand as far as price, makes like Indesit youre looking between £250 - £350 but other more premium brands like Bosch are starting at around £400+

Make sure the program you are selecting allows a good sized load and can spin at the full 1400 spin, as some programs will only spin slower and allow a smaller load

I’ve got a indesit wasn’t my choice it was in the property before I moved in. Got to admit it’s the worst machine I’ve ever hand. It takes to long, can’t see how long I have wait before its finished. And I have to keep cleaning through because of using a low heat settings. Which I never had the problem with my Bendix which I had for about 16 years until my daughter-in-law over loaded it.
