VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
This girl knows how to take charge while living her truth, and her tiny home is perfect proof! Sarah doesn't mind getting her hands dirty and using maximum creativity, from chopping her firewood for the woodburning stove to mounting a Jon boat on her roof for more headspace. Her artistic side shines in the ambiance of the entire bus, with a record player and collection of albums and curved cabinetry work to pieces of collected wood and herbs for decor. The overall layout is functional with an open design that perfectly suits daily life with her pup Bo!

She is an inspiration! She's learned a lot and is very self-aware. This kind of independent really hones some good skills as well as self-reliance. I love seeing all the young women who do this on their own. Her bus is really well set up! And I really get the toilet thing. I only have an outhouse, but it's mine and it's fine! So glad she was self-assured enough to share about it.
What a brilliant idea using an aluminum jon boat raise the roof. However you thought of that was absolutely brilliant
Such a cool conversion! John boat on top is such a great idea! Love the wood burning stove and low/no tech elements. Sending good vibes and safe travels!
This short bus is the best conversion ever! It looks so much bigger and is so beautiful!!
The shapes, textures and colors in this home on wheels are just beautiful!
WOW! What a beautiful, creative, and well designed bus interior! Love the Jon boat hightop too! But, I also like this young woman's attitude about her bus life, her resilience, and her choices. That is also beautiful to see (in any person, male or female, young or old). Brava!

Sarah your bus build is amazing and Beau is a beautiful dog. I like the fact that you have a record player on board as well and your collection of LPs the whole bus looks very cosy and sitting in bed reading your books must be like a form of relaxation as well more so when it is raining outside with the sound of the Rain.
Charming! Like when elements of the outside are part of the inside design -i.e. the mountain range heat shield. Love the axe., too. Appreciate the honesty about bus life. Bo looks to be a best bud. The best to both of you in your adventures.

I traveled for 12 years after my wife passed away, just the thought of doing repairs was enough to quit, but with living in an apartment has added even more stress and yes, I do miss traveling but at 70 , I would need someone else to help out. So good luck with your travels, I do miss them.

Thanks for the offer, but just remember, I live in a low-income apartment complex, not enough money to stay or move and the constant threat of being evicted because you complain about them violating your rights to privacy is very stressful . I've never ran into this type of trashy lifestyle over apartments, leaves a bad taste and feeling in your heart that people can act like this. I don't have a lot of money, but it could help out with house payments and it would add a newer car to the story and an old man with 2 ferrets ( not getting rid of them ). Hum, Looking for wife who needs someone to help with costs for her home/motor coach who needs newer car to go shopping in, OH, not wanting more kids either. Wife looking add here, lol.

@@rogerstroup7240 I really feel for anyone having to live in an apartment. We lived in one for a few months when first married 44 years ago, then a rental house while we built our first house. Then move to get away from being in a city, built two more houses, last move bought a foreclosure with good bones but cosmetic damage that my husband is working on.. We feel so absolutely blessed, no mortgage, just property taxes. We wish we'd done that right from the start. Now at 70 & 74, I'd love one of these vans just for some traveling but it's just a pipe dream. I imagine the suggestion of finding a travel companion truly compatible would not be easy. Hoping you find a way out of apartment living.

BOTH- "Adorably-Creative" young woman & her Cozy Schoolie-Build. Rock-On Little Sister! You remind me of myself SOooo much when younger ( looks as well )..1970's-'80 as a tall skinny kid/teen on my School Bus imagined getting rid of all the seats (loud kids too Lol) & turning it into my private studio apt. (with pets) It's still going to happen by golly!!! 😂💕🤗 Hugs!
I am pleased to see such a downhome build. It's obvious it wasn't professionally built, and that is such an encouragement to other who want to create something they can live in too! I'm a retired Professional and am researching videoes for my Grand Daughter, to encourage her to step out and give it a go. The John Boat idea is a really good idea. Your Rig looks so much bigger than it is. You go girl! And next time you are passing through North Central Texas plan to drop by my shop and spend a few days.( North of Fort Worth in the Country) My wife and I would love to help you finesse a few things you don't have the tools to build. I've got a full shop and we are both retired, so I have the time to donate. Would be fun. And I have hook up and a dump station next to my shop, so you can still have your privacy. Seriously, if you're passing through and need a safe place to spend the night and take care of some issues, come drop in. Many of our Class A Coach Friends drop in and spend a few days making improvements and doing maintenance on theor Coaches and toweds. So you're more than welcome when you pass this way. All our kids are grown and gone, so we enjoy the company.
Adobe casita - by far the best source of inspiration! And so sensible to go for vinyl ‘tiling’ and making it work by a protective coating.
I love her honestly and forthrightness about the challenges she's faced with bus life ....go Sarah!
You've done a wonderful job of this skoolie build, Sarah! You are such a charming and wholesome person too, lovely to meet you and Bo. I can see your artistic side in the use of natural elements, little hobbit cabinet doors, beautiful wood ceilings, very lovely Talavera tiles, and all your hobbies. You are living the life I wish I had led as a young woman decades ago, but life was different then. So very glad to see women acquire and master DIY skills. They are not the sole domain of men yet most women are afraid to try. This shows a bold spirit, courage, and tenacity. Bravo! Bo is a sweet dog. He must love all the outdoor time. In AZ, check his paws for Cholla cactus fish hook spines, and when you are in CA, check for the dreaded foxtail seeds that are like barbs and dangerous. Remember that while dogs tolerate cold better than us, they heat up faster and cannot cool down as fast as humans, so Mesa, AZ temps are not for summer camping. Go Northwest in summer and your dog will love the cool redwood forests and streams. Your bus size is excellent. Large buses are hard to park and turn, The Jon boat idea is genius. I've never seen that before, very resourceful of you. Van life necessity is truly the mother of inventions. You are right. Van life teaches you a lot about yourself. It also develops skills you did not have before. You have to learn a lot of trade skills, use power tools, be inventive, and learn not to sweat the small stuff. Its a growth opportunity. There are a couple of things I would consider if I were you. 1. Fireplaces are prone to fires and carbon monoxide poisoning. You could die in your sleep if it malfunctions, flue is blocked. Please consider a diesel heater. Carbon emissions are lower too. Be sure your insurance covers fire damage from wood stove. 2. Get a Planet Fitness membership. It costs very little at $10 - $12 per month. It offers you a workout, showers, and the company of other people. Its good for mental health and prevents isolation. A hot shower works miracles. 3. If you want your dog to feel cooler and shed less in summer, get an A5 Andis AGC corded clipper or Wahl Bravura Cordless Clipper from petedge.com and a pack of Geib Buttercup blades (#5, 7, 10, 30). Don't buy cheaper blades or clipper - they don't work. Don't buy from stores, only online professional sites as you get high quality. A5 is the Pro Clipper standard type. Clip your dog's hair on belly using #10 for crew cut, or #30 for shave down. Clip his flanks shorter from inside - thin out, and also under the tail, genital area. #5 can be used on top for a rough cut. You can groom other dogs too, as a side income. KZread has videos on grooming all breeds. Bon Voyage, and thanks for sharing.
She is a beauty ! 😉😘👍
Record albums are a must. Great video. Thanks for sharing
What a cute little bus!.It's simple yet has all the comforts of home.I love the closet.
I moved into a camper from a huge house four years ago, One way I found to save space in the closet was to switch to those wire hangers with velvet on them. They reduced the size of my hanging clothes by about half.

That is so awesome. I'm in the process of finding either a bus or camper van. I'm retired. I want to follow the sun. I have heart disease, so I'm concerned about building a bus out, so camper van might be my best option. I'm an artist & I went to art school & took a metal smithing class & LOVED IT. Really inspiring and I appreciate you being so real with what van life /Skoolie life is like - challenging but very enriching. I wish you happy travels.
This was a pleasure to watch. I really like to see the videos where an artist has been involved in the design. I am an artist as well and can appreciate the little things that don’t always jump out. Sarah put so much thought into her build and it really showed. Some of my fave things were the rounded corners on the closet door (as well as the mirror on the inside) and how huge the interior seemed! She was sitting near the wood stove, while Beau was on the bed. Honestly, it looked larger than some of the apartments I have had (with three kids and me!!) I wish I was brave enough, and had the carpentry know-how to do this. I just retired and would love to take off with just me and the dog.
Very nice! I love the wood on the interior. The convenience of an RV with the ambiance of a log cabin!
Totally LOVIN this bus! Beautiful!!

At 12:20 seconds you mention and show the location of your fire extinguisher and I would just like to mention that speaking from experience ,it is always good to have the fire extinguisher away from where the fire might start. Think of where it is most accessible and can be directed to the fire from the safety of being up wind and away from the fire 🔥 .

Remarkable young lady. You are living the free life I would like to have.enjoy life is short. God Bless.
Really rad and homey build. As a note, she should consider adding a metal strap between/under the holes for the front bench. It will stop the bench from tearing out of the holes in a collision.
