Incredible sighting of Tiger vs sloth Bear in Ranthambore

This is a wonderful view of an afternoon safari on Zone 6 in Ranthambore National Park on 25 October 2018.It was a great day for our Ranthambore safari when we witnessed a small skirmish between a tiger (one of the T8 cubs) and a sloth bear in Zone 6 of the Ranthambore National Park. It was a wonderful experience in the forest tour in reality so far. This scene is filmed by India tour guide Atik Ahmed.

If an adult tiger were to go after a sloth bear it would keep still and wait until it had a clear pounce to the bear neck or nape, they wouldnt go for the back and simply slap the bear. Young lions do the same, I've seen them sneak behind a rhino and slap or poke it in the hindquarters. Idk what argument there is but yes its quite obvious this tiger was more curious than anything because It was more a full grown adult.

@@SuperBingo96 That's not quite accurate, we can't base that on observation of KZread fights in enclosure/captivity. However, if I were to rely on what KZread shows me, I'd have to stick with the obvious: Lions do not believe in one-on-one, the Male has a coalition mentality, he's going to fight only for (1) Protection of his territory, (2) His Pride Family, (3) His coalition partners/brothers/cousins, and (3) His Food. And Tigers, they're loners, solitary hunters who really aren't used to encounters like the Male lion. Tigers are of a mentally that will retreat and not fight headstrong as the Male Lion..Both, no doubt are to be reckoned with. And so, when you say "easily beat", I have a hard time agreeing and all I can say is had that been a Lion with that Bear, the Bear probably would have been killed. Why? Because it would've faced more than one, outnumbered probably four to one. A Tasty meal it would've been!🦁🦁🦁

Yeah a full grown male Siberian Tiger is the largest sub-species of Tigers and weighs anywhere from 300 to 500 lbs, a fully grown male Grizzly Bear is anywhere between 1000 to 1700lbs and Grizzlies are not even close to the average size of a full grown male Polar Bear, this was a Sloth Bear (found in parts of Asia) which is a tiny sub-species of bear when you're comparing it too it's much larger relatives, a male Sloth Bear has an average weight of between 250 and 350 lbs, just a little guy when it comes too Bears and he chased that Tiger off like it was a playful house cat, in my opinion when it comes to land predators the Bear is King amongst peasants, especially a Polar Bear, in a one on one engagement there is not a predator on land that can kill a healthy fully grown male Polar Bear and I would be hard pressed too find any land predator that could kill a Grizzly in a heads up match (besides a Polar Bear) big cats (Lions/Tigers ECT) are awesome, fearsome beautiful creatures, they just don't have the mass to kill the upper echelon of the Bear family! So all in all I completely agree with u 100%, lol

That's like saying a tiger isnt able to take down a gaur since gaurs are MASSIVE and much stronger than tigers yet there are cases of tigers killing gaurs, quite a lot. Tigers adapt different hunting strategies for different animals and siberians grew massive in the last so they were well capable of tackling a bear in a clever way, a bears neck can be as muscular as you want but you really think a bears neck is THAT strong enough to not even feel 4 inch canine teeth and the bite force of 1000 lbs? The tigers would wait and attack the bear in an ambush and use its paws to get a good grip and then the tiger hit the spinal column.

I don't think it was a serious stalking attempt by the tiger - most likely curiosity getting the better of an adolescent tiger who couldn't resist the urge to stalk something with its back turned. Although sloth bears are not pushovers, they do naturally form part of an adult tiger's diet, so I think a serious hunting attempt by a full adult stalking that close would have resulted in the bear's demise (element of surprise - maybe different if the bear knew it was being hunted of course)

Overhead Millitary press slam 2020 Let me clarify. I'm talking about a full grown, male adult bear. Or say, a GRIZZLY. That first video was crap quality of a female black (?) bear. Lousy. That second link is garbage. I'm not gonna read all that crap, I have to go to work; show me a video of Tiger taking out a Grizzly or a brown bear. ONE small Asiatic Black Bear stalemated TWO Bengal Tigers: kzread.info/dash/bejne/q6eCw8GSgandmbA.html&feature=share In this video, we see a tiger defeated in combat by a little sloth bear: kzread.info/dash/bejne/YpubrJhrZ92amrg.html If you want to see more footage of the Sloth Bear owning the Tiger's ass, see this extended video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/doptvKmtgZuwisY.html Still not convinced? In this video, we see a Tiger stalk a Sloth Bear. Once the Sloth Bear stands his ground, that poor little kitty wants no piece of the Bear: kzread.info/dash/bejne/i3qXo8ilZ8S8oNY.html These are the smallest of Bears. Could you imagine what a Grizzly or a Polar Bear would do to a tiger? It would be a massacre. EDIT: I took the last one out since it's not the best example. While there may be times where a Tiger MAY kill a full grown male, I'd wager it's probably far less often than a bear defeating a tiger. Sometimes in nature, size and power are just too much.
