I thik I couldn't stand him at a party, but for sure he gives something extra to track and field in general where top athletes sometimes tend to take themselves too seriously. Hats off to him for his achievements.

@@lilise3965 he's just telling the truth, he knows that Barshim is better than him and has jumped over 2.40m several times, won three olympic medals, and Harrison who is also competing in both high and long jump... but he also knows he can compete against them and beat them.

@@milvao3400 WhenTamberi was at the top of his game a very serious injury forced him to skip the 2016 Rio Olympics and stop competing till the 2021 Olympics. In sports competitions it's all about here and now. Past and present and world records do not matter. You just have to deliver. As results go, Tamperi has been consistently winning everything there was to win for the past 2 years.

@@lilise3965 not true, in Eugene he didn't win any medals, he placed 4th, but that's not the point. Barshim is the best of his generation, even Tamberi recognized that several times but, as you say, it's about here and now and he can still beat him on a given day and he was still able to win gold both here and in Tokyo. And about the American, he's both a long jumper and a high jumper and he has great results in both. Imagine Tamberi and Barshim doing long jump.

Tamberi is a living legend. Gianmarco is a fantastic person and deserves the successes he has achieved. A terrible injury had interrupted a career that would have been even more incredible; he ie returned in the last years like an hurricane!!! Grandissimo

Where all the competitors are serching for the necessary concentration he seems to need just pure energy. If he's not stopped by injuries he's that kind of athlete capable to give his best under pressure, at the right moment, in the greatest competitions.

I'm just an average italian, a bit more focused on soccer (and tennis) rather than other sports... but it's impossible to not aknowledge such character, such energy and such capacity to overcome injuries. L’altro ha fallito tre volte errore a 2.38 . E Tamberi non ha nemmeno fatto il terzo perché aveva già vinto. Lui ha passato 2,36 al primo salto,, Harrison al secondo quindi ha la stessa misura ma con un errore.

No perché Tamberi ha saltato 2.36 al primo tentativo (per ogni misura gli atleti ne hanno a disposizione 3) mentre Harrison al secondo. Avendo sbagliato entrambi a 2.38 Tamberi ha ottenuto il risultato migliore all'altezza precedente.

Perchè fa atletica se fosse un calciatore tutto ok? Con tutto il sacrificio e la tensione che comporta questa disciplina , stemperare con allegria e condivisione ,mi sembra più che accettabile, anzi ammirevole, tutt' altro che facile...quanti sanno affrontare la gara così??? Non è da tutti e per tutti, e ognuno si concentra e si carica a modo suo, e questo è il carattere e lo stile di Tamberi che non toglie nulla agli altri o danneggia nessuno...se lo vive così... deve essere QUESTO che ti infastidisce tanto,chiediti come mai... Temo proprio sia un TUO problema, non un difetto di Gimbo.

Anche a me come showman non piace: va benissimo festeggiare e molto bello il gesto verso lo statunitense quando questi ha sbagliato l'ultimo salto, ma la scenetta che ha imbastito prima dell'ultimo tentativo a 2.40, nella quale alla fine non ha neppure saltato è una buffonata che poteva evitare. O fai l'atleta o fai il clown: a X-Factor c'è sempre posto. Ah, e anticipo i commenti di insulti dei tifosi: è una mia opinione, spero si possa accettare e rispettare in quanto tale, grazie.
