Great reaction! They hit all the right visual notes to complement the feel of the song. The colors and set are 100% Havana. Kirstin in particular maintains a sort of languid heat the way she sits and gestures. I love this cover! In the live shows Mitch walks up to Scott and grabs his face then cheekily pushes it away when he sings “I loved him when I left him.” You can see it in his face in the video that he finds that line amusing with that sassy little smirk, lol.

They did this mostly during the 2019 tour, they were completely playing around with fans who were obsessed with "shipping" a romantic relationship between Scott and Mitch. (Yes, they dated briefly in high school, but since then have been friends, and are now each in their own relationships.) I agree with you about how PTX changes these songs just enough that they are not really covers. Scott’s riffs fit this song perfectly. Kirstin had her full Latina mode going on. Recommend their original, Happy Now.

"Havana" was written and debuted by Camila Carbello. My favorite thing about Pentatonix's version is Kevin playing his invisible flugelhorn (though it might be a trumpet).

I love that they took the rap of the original and put it to music.

Kevin plays his invisible brass instrument in their original song 'A Little Space ' that they perform with 3 members of K-Pop group Ateez 😉 Its fun , has a very catchy rhythm and was co-written by Kirstin & Kevin .

This is one of my fav PTX videos! I love the song, and they make it their own. They all have amazing vocals, but I must agree with your two about Scott’s voice! They were on a music reality show in the US about a year ago, but they were in disguises. It was kind of obvious being a group of five, but it could have been another group. As soon as I heard Scott’s voice my daughter and I immediately recognized him and said it was PTX, and it was! I really do love all of their voices. It’s actually been awhile since I’ve listened to them, but I think I’ll have to re-start. Your reaction has re-ignited my interest in them. Being that I discovered Home Free the following season on the Sing Off, I kind of stuck with them.

This is one of several songs where Pentatonix does a "gender swap" - the original (by Camilla Cabello) is performed by a female lead, but PTX has Mitch or Scott sing the lead, instead of just assuming that Kirstin will sing the lead because she's female. PTX will almost always let the lead depend on who does the best job for them for that song. Havana, Dancing On My Own, Problem, The Prayer, just the ones off the top of my head.
