I have tried a handful of lights over the past year+, these are by FAR, (aside from Kessil lights) that I have tried. I am changing all of my tanks over to these lights, they are amazing!

Are you still going to change the sump to the trigger one you have in your saltwater ?

@@guzkr0111 no for a few reasons. I can fit a lot more media in my DIY 75 and can also run a higher water level. I can also run two 7” filter socks in the current sumps, vs. 4” socks on the trigger. Another issue with the Trigger is that I would have trouble running my constant drip system...with the drainage piping....etc. Trigger sumps are good for saltwater, for freshwater...diy sumps are much more beneficial and efficient.

Awesome tank!!! Love the lighting... and that "SHIMMER" tho!!! How do you get that shimmer? I have 2 tanks of Africans. A 90 of young ones and a 56 cube with some fry I scooped up for the wife lol. I run a Fluval 3.0 plant LED's. It has the app that controls the lights and I run them next to each other in my finished basement. I had a problem with sone algae in my 90 but started usin Chemi-pure in my 90, it is PRESTINE!!!. Now I need that "Shimmer" effect. I've seen it in the saltwater stores and had a awesome light when I had a saltwater setup. It just got to be too much for a truckdriver, so I took it down. Just got back into the hobby and figured I would do Africans again. So, my lights have 5 light settings I can adjust. They are pink, blue, cold white, pure white, and warm white. All can be adjusted between 0-100%. Any way to try and replicate a look like you have there? Help plz!!!

You will need a light type like Kessils or similar style to get the shimmer effect.

LOVE your lighting especially the effect. I know you don’t support that lighting company anymore but do you have any suggestion for the floodlight that gave shimmer effect so I can get them for my 260gl tank?

I have no issue with the company I bought these lights from whatsoever. I had an issue with one light I received from them and they replaced it no questions asked. I would recommend picking up some lights from them 21ledusa 👍 I have Kessil lights on my 250 and they are really nice but pricey.

Do you still have these lights running today, cause the vid is a year ago, and if so: you don't have troubling algae or something due to this lights? I love those shimmering because I have had sea water for 30 years and now I'm looking for that welknown shimmering with a cichlid tank. gr.

These were in the 12000k or 14000k range. White-ish blue in color

No, I don’t do water changes on this tank, it has a constant drip system on it. They were fed an hour or so earlier. These lights pick up any and every particle in the water.

Each light is centered over each cutout of the top brace. Each light mount is mounted with two screws as seen above the tank in the video.

Great video, I was actually wondering what kind of lights to place above my cichlid tank, but this looks great, is there any chance you can provide info how you wired those flood lights, or how they are wired? that would be so helpful to me. Thanks in advance!

The three flood lights have their own individual plugs, the plugs are plugged into a 3 to 1 adapter which then runs one chord to the outlet. I t is plugged into a WiFi outlet so I can control it through my phone.

I have a 75 gallon tank with a Lifegard 9000k LED bar. I want more of the blue light than the yellow. This company go out of business? Have you tried any other lights that are similar?

Question for you. Do you have any of the blue lights from that website or just 3 of the white 30watt 12k?

Hello I have a 125 gallon fish tank and want to do africian cichlids. Where did you get the rocks? I also love the leds as well. I am starting fresh with my tank. I know in a few months I will be having a new tank stand should I wait till I get the new stand or what should i do? Please I needs some advice. Thanks

Thanks. They are 30W 12000K flood lights. Unfortunately I had to remove the link because I received a second order of lights for another tank that are not working and appear to be used and beat up. I am not receiving any response from the company after I have made multiple attempts to contact them. That said, I will no longer support their lights and will have an update video to follow.

@@jamess2697 I removed the link to these lights from my description. I ordered a second set for another show tank that I am setting up in my fish room and I’m not happy with what I received. They basically sent me a box of junk and I have now been trying to contact them for four+ days with no response. That said, for now, I will not be supporting them.

@@jamess2697 The lights on my 300 have been fine, no issues with them… Yet. When the boxes arrived, both shipments, the boxes look like they had been through a war zone and had “China”written in sharpie all over them 🤷‍♂️ I’m waiting to see if and when I hear back from them. Until then, it appears to be a crap shoot whether or not you get a descent product from them.

Yes, I have Wi-Fi outlets in the house so everything is controlled from my phone and the lights for example, are set on a timer through the app

Hey I ordered the 21led USA 30 watt and they didn’t have a remote so I called the company in Arlington Tx. And they said sorry about the confusion they aren’t rob with multicolor remote. Which is weird because they have on the website it is. I’m so confused.. it’s a killer light just doesn’t have the color effect. :(

Thank you, I just added a handful more fish this past week. I’d venture to say there are around 50 fish in there or so. That includes 4 catfish and two Plecos. Little to no aggression the more fish I have in the tank. The fish are much happier.

What watts size would you recommend for a 125 & how many lights looking for some advice before I buy some

The 30W. That said, I am happy with these lights so far, HOWEVER....I purchased two more of these fixtures from the same seller and am not happy with what I received, nor have I heard back from them. I will no longer be supporting this company or their lights other than the three that I have on my 300 in this video.

All depends, assuming you are talking about cichlids, depends on what type, what size, filtration, etc. if it were the same type of fish that I have in my tank I would put around 30 comfortably. It is all personal preference really, this time last year I had about 70 fish in my 300, now I am down to around 40 or 45 or so. I plan on adding a few more at least because in my experience the higher the fish number

@@yrnolan4474 sorry! I just assumed fish because I get asked that question quite often. As for the lights... if you want to look like I have on the tank you see here I would do three of them spaced out like you see in the video when I show the top view. Some people also like more of a shadow area and they will do two on a 6 foot tank so it is not as bright and there are some darker areas. That said, I have also seen people do one in the center so the ends are darker. It’s all personal preference really. I am a big fan of the three evenly spaced across.

@@yrnolan4474 I have castle lights on a few of my tanks and they are great lights of course but way over priced in my opinion. These lights pretty much look identical to my new Kessil 360X lights, just $400 cheaper. Of course these flood lights are not programmable, but for the freshwater application I am using them on they do not need to be so to me it’s a no brainer.

Any word on your situation with the company you bought these lights from? I read you had some issues with them. I actually purchased 1 just to see if I liked it. Shimmer is great but the color is no where near 12000k. Appears to be like 5000k-6000k. In your video, your lights look blueish (as 12000k should be). Do yours have a blue tint in person just like vid?

I had an issue with one of the lights I received for another tank, the company was quick and responsive with sending me a replacement at no charge. The customer service was very helpful. The lights on this tank…they do have a bluish hue to them, not sure if they are 12,000K blue or not, but they look exactly like they do in the video in person. I will be ordering more lights from them here shortly, most likely 50W 12,000K or possibly even their 20,000K for my new 600 gallon build I have started.
