That explanation of Loki being an Asgardian and growing stronger as they age actually slipped my mind! Just like in the Avengers Assemble series where that one episode, Thanos destroyed the Avengers by making them all very old using the time stone. It worked with everyone but when he used it on Thor he only made him stronger so Thanos reset everyone.

Loki is a frost giant that was adopted by Odin. There are plenty of "regular" Asgardians as well. Loki's powers basically are just magic that his stepmom taught him plus the attributes of the frost giants packed into his little humanoid form.

Just a little detail i found the other day while rewatching season 1 When Mobius is talking with Loki in the time theater he says "you weren't born to be a king Loki. You were born to cause pain, suffering and death." And in the end of the series not only did Loki turn into a king but by holding the timelines he is preventing everyone from pain and suffering.

I thought Loki looked older. I thought it was just me and maybe just the way his facial expression was contorted for that one scene to show how difficult or how much power he had to use. Him being actually older adds so much to that entire temporal space walk.

Originally in terms of MCU shows, I had WandaVision as the best. However, Loki season 1 and especially season 2 not only easily takes the cake as the best show, but it is one of the best pieces of media that came out of the MCU. Loki may now have the best character development in the entirety of the MCU, that being equal to or even surpassing Ironman and Cap.

  • @cArLoSlOpEz-bb9kr

    @cArLoSlOpEz-bb9kr

In my opinion, it for sure surpasses at least Cap’s development because we knew he was always great. Ironman and Loki both started off arrogant and prideful but they both made incredible sacrifices for the betterment of literally everybody and ended up with choosing what they least wanted in the end, Loki a throne and Ironman his death.

Yup, but he also happened to be on the most dangerous and most vulnerable spot ever. If the Council of Kangs realized what happened, they would definitely try to take him out or make him leave his throne, just to gain control of all these timelines again under the Kangs' rule. I could definitely see this setting up the main threat of The Kang Dynasty, with God of Stories Loki being the main MacGuffin, a living one.

I had forgotten about this detail and originally thought Loki just didn't go because he was the only one who could time slip; therefore, if he did go out and end up dying, there would be no trying again. So basically risking his life wouldn't have been worth it, and him going onto the gangway was a last resort after finding out pretty much any other solution is impossible.

I've followed the MCU for years now and in my opinion, Loki is the best thing they've done, better than the movies and all the other series. Thor Ragnarock gave me a glimpse at the lighter side of Loki's character as he was played as a fairly unlikeable villain up to that point. Brilliantly played by Tom of course, but there weren't too many redeeming qualities to Loki as he'd be constantly stabbing (mostly figuratively but sometimes literally) people in the back. The character arc that Tom and the writers absolutely nailed to perfection in this 2 part series is a masterclass in plot, development and execution. And I also found Mobius uttering the words "Let time pass..." quite heartbreaking. Thanks also to The Canadian Lad for helping me appreciate it even more.

Hell yeah, im glad you pointed out that Loki was aging when approaching the Loom! I commented that on your video and i was wondering why no one was talking about that. You can visually see Loki struggling and not being able to continue walking, so he's forced to stop and then he ages more. Then and only then is he able to continue walking, as Asgardians get stronger as they age. I also love how Loki was able to learn and progress his powerset to include EVERY other Loki variant we seen on the show! Loki didnt know how to Enchant before Sylvie and seeing Classic Loki gave him the confidence to expand his duplication casting powers. Remember how Loki explained that he creates a duplicate image casting of whatever he creates? He has to visually see and know how whatever he is duplicating looks to cast them. Classic Loki said that he was able to make a duplicate so real, that Thanos thought it was real, which means that Classic Loki is able to create *physical TANGIBLE duplicates.* Whereas our Loki was only ever able to create non-tangible duplicates. This means Loki is now able to manifest real, physical duplicates of whatever he projects. He also has Lokis main weapon from the comics now, Laeveteinn. It's basically just a sword but its a flaming sword that can also act like a wand and concentrate Lokis magic. In Norse Mythology, Laeveteinn is basically a miniature version of Surtr's sword. So if thats the case in the MCU, that means Kid Loki not only killed Thor, but he possibly also killed Surtr and took his weapon. This could have been why Our Loki was so shocked when Kid Loki passed him Laeveteinn in the first place, as this kid is proving that he's the real deal since he killed Thor and Surtr. But Loki also learned Quantum physics and Quantum mechanics, so he would have been able to understand the equations and science on He Who Remains chalkboard. I believe that He Who Remains left his equations so out in the open on purpose, so that Loki would see them and figure out the way to have complete control over time and the Multiverse. He Who Remains already knows that Loki understands Physics and the science behind his devices, as he and Loki sat and discussed their current situation. So He Who Remains knows that Loki understands the science, so why would he leave his work and equations on the chalkboard for Loki to figure out? 🤔

Anyone realise in Season 1 Loki asks Mobius if they're taking him somewhere to kill him and Mobius says that he's taking him "somewhere to talk" and takes him to the time theatre. And in season 2, that's where Loki timeslips to, to talk to Mobius.

8:12 but Loki is a Frost Giant. How can he be an Asgardian?? Odin's magic of showing him as an Asgardian is only applicable on Asgard.

That magic of Odin is not only applicable in Asgard. And maybe Odins enchantment made Loki an Asgardian despite being born as Frost Giant. And remember Loki wasn't always an Asgardian or frost giants his variants showed it.

I don't understand why you would think that? Loki hasn't spent a single second on Asgard during the series and yet he still looks the same, so it's clearly working outside of Asgard as well. I actually think that whatever Odin did to make him look like an Asgardian wasn't just acting as some sort of veil hiding his true Frost Giant form underneath. That he somehow changed his body on a physical level.

@The Canadian Lad - Great find about Loki ageing! You could add that he also aged another century before stepping outside the TVA (to add to his knowledge), explaining why he and not Sylvie went outside as he was already older and more powerful to begin with. Two things need more explaining: 1 - why did Loki prune himself? 2 - what is the significance of us seeing Rennslayer 'awaken' at the End of Time, on top of what seems like the shield displayed on the floor of the TVA? (I guess we'll be seeing her and Miss Minutes again).

I dispise that Sylvie faced absolutely no physical or emotional repercussions for her actions that Loki had to bear the infinite burden to fix. Literally everything that ever went wrong was her fault and she is a massive hypocrite throughout the entire season and the writers had the gall to treat her as "One of the crew" at the end, absolutely the worst part of the season, I loved her in season 1 and would have loved her in season 2 even more if there was just one scene of her somberly reflecting on the fact that everything was her fault and quietly apologizing to Loki, because she effectively did exactly what the TVA did to her but to Loki.

In episode 4, Loki and Sylvie had their talk in the pie automat, and Sylvie said she couldn't kill Timely because he looked scared, but what she said after about HWR shows her subtly doubting her action. She said that HWR didn't look scared, or maybe he did and she just didn't notice. It's subtle but it's there and shows some doubt on her part. After that conversation with Loki, Sylvie actually toned down her anger a bit when discussing hope and free will, then into episode 5 where she helped Loki realize what it was he really wanted, and in episode 6 where she helped him remember the conversation they had in the automat about replacing HWR with something better. Second, Sylvie killing HWR in the citadel was always meant to happen. How many times did Loki go back to try to convince her or stop her otherwise and each time that he wouldn't kill her, she continued on and killed HWR? Every time because it's a loop set up by HWR. We know that HWR can pause time or even remove Sylvie from the moment in the citadel to save himself, but he never stops her and instead just lets her kill him. As a final nail in the coffin, HWR gave Loki an impossible choice: kill Sylvie and save HWR to maintain the sacred timeline which would doom every variant and branching timeline to death (also, can HWR be trusted to partner with Loki to maintain the sacred timeline after we know he doesn't do partnerships? lol), or let Sylvie complete her mission to kill HWR, and set the multiverse free allowing variants and branching timelines to exist as they're meant to be? Pre-determinism vs free will. Ultimately Loki chose free will and played a sacrificial move, which puts HWR in check for now. Whether it becomes checkmate remains to be seen.

Let's not forget that Frost Giants are just as long-lived as Asgardians. So maybe they get stronger with age too. And we have only seen Loki to change into his birth form when he is in contact with Frost Giant magic. Which makes me think that his Asgardian form is more than just an overlay, that his body is actually changed on a physical level.

The one thing everyone missed is that, whatsoever deep down, Loki still thinks he is the Asgaurdian. And one thing we all know is the Love of Asgaurdings for the Gold. Everything in Asgaurd is built from gold. Especially the Throne. Hence when Loki decides to sit on the throne. He summons all th gold from that rock to form his golden throne...and for me, it's just a beautiful thing. This detail was most pleasant for me.
