Hi Kathy. Thanks so much. I think you'll enjoy it.
Yea, I lived in Cincinnati off and on for almost forty years. Skyline was one of my mother and I's favorite places to eat. The cheese coney's is my favorite. She passed away Feb 1st will be two years and I moved back home. I crave it sometimes along with Popeyes which we don't have here either😭😭. There sauce is a little thinner than yours but urs looks just as good. Brings back memories. Tyfs God bless you

Oh really. That's interesting. I would love to try Skyline. Sorry to hear about your mom. I think the original sauce is a bit more blended. But it sure is good. Take care and stay safe.

Hi. It was really good.
I watched this video when it came out and put it on my must make list. Well, I had forgotten all about it and then one day remembered. Tried to look for recipe on your website which I prefer for following your recipes, but couldn't find it or a link. It was tue first time I have followed along a recipe by pausing you video and I must say that actually worked okay. I do like that you list things off pretty clearly and I will be writing this recipe down into my notebook for future use. 😋 It was family appoved for a repeat. Not to be a regular monthly occurrence but from time to time they said I can make it. On the otherhand, I really enjoyed it and could probably solely subside on just the sauce- which would work if I was cooking for one. 😆. Happy to have some leftovers to enjoy later this week. 😍

Great. Hope you enjoy. I usually do put links, but sometimes forget. I'll have to go through the videos and check. Hope you keep cooking and watching my friend.
Looks interestingly delicious Dave. When I make some I will save some sauce for when the chili dog recipe comes out. Thanks.

Hey Graham. You’re so welcome. Hope you and pooch are well.
Yep that's Skyline
I got hooked on this stuff 45 years ago when we lived just across the river from Cincinnati. Skyline was my favorite, but Gold Star and Empress were good as well. For lazy folks, you can buy a pouch of seasoning mix at the grocery ready to go and just add the ground beef, tomato paste, and water. Genuine Skyline is also sold as canned or frozen in many groceries. To duplicate the texture of authentic Skyline, use a stick blender to really smooth it out.

Hi. Yes, I can see how you can get hooked on it. It's so good. Didn't know about the grocery store. Have to look for that.

Empress puts dried chilis in there’s! However, Gold Star isn’t as good as Skyline and Empress!
Must try this Cincinnati chili 🌶️ sauce 😋

Hi Dave. As always, you make me hungry. Will that recipe work halved? And can the leftovers be frozen? Btw, I like the face fuzz. Hugs from downunder. 🥰

Hi Kathy. LOL. That's a good think. Sure it will work if you cut it in half. Thanks, just trying it for now. See how it works out. How are things down under?

@@TheCooknShare It's a lovely summer here in Tasmania. Cold there?
As an ex Cincinnati resident, we have it a couple times a year. I’ll have to try this recipe. But, we’ll serve it “5 way”, with the addition of kidney beans.
All you fellow Cincinnatians out there, what do you prefer; Skyline or Gold Star?

Skyline at the parlor. The frozen ones at the grocery store isn't the same.

There is a link to the website, but no link to the recipe itself and the recipe does not appear on the website (at least I cannot find it through the search bar or scrolling through posts).

Okay. I'll work on that, James. Thanks.
This looks like a good, relatively simple faux Cincinnati chile recipe that has the typical listed ingredients consisting of unsweetened chocolate , vinegar, Worcestershire sauce with the Greek spices. Except according to a chile nerd from “ Elite Recipe Source” ( less than a thousand subscribers) who did a lot of research, no where from the ingredient list or Skyline chile site do they list the ingredients especially the chocolate which HAS to be listed because it is an allergen. The site owner thinks that Yeast which is listed early on , even before the spices and onions and garlic, is very important and gives the chile the Unami taste absent because the beef is not browned. Ha, ha, I think I am going to try your recipe next. I will go with the guy who has a million subscribers.
