Incredible Cenote Diving “The Pit” Tulum, Mexico Video
Hi! Check out one of our latest adventures, diving in Cenote El Pit, aka “The Pit”. Remarkably eerie and inspiring, this cenote was a treasure trove of ethereal beauty. The coolest part for me was swimming through the acid cloud at 27mm, which you will see in the video is misty blue. It’s a layer of Hydrogen Sulfide that is a by-product from the decomposing organic matter sitting on the bottom. Spooky! The dive started in fresh water and at 12 meters we hit a Halocline that gave way to the dense salt water below. 1st scuba dive in fresh water ever, and 1st dive in both fresh and salt in the same dive - pretty sweet. As scuba enthusiasts it would have been sacrilegious to travel to the Yucatán and not explore its famed cenotes. This video is from our dive in Cenote El Pit, aka The Pit. It was absolutely magical - from the dancing light, to the topography and eerie acid layer at the bottom it rocked our scuba socks and had us hooked at first sight. I was in the drive-through when I watched the first five seconds. I saw the staircase that headed down to the opening of the cave. I screamed “YES!!!” out of excitement. I screamed it at the lady who had already taken my order. I did that same dive 2 years ago. It was the most incredible spiritual dive I was fortunate enough to experience. I am so glad you shared this because the camera I used did not record any of the dive. Now I can share my experience through yours. Thank you for being awesome guys!

It was like another world. I could not recommend it more. And what you are seeing in the video is just the tippy top. At the bottom through the cloud it goes down to 130 m and goes on for Miles in complete darkness !!!!!!

Thank you so much Linnea! That was one of our first videos in Mexico before we even started vlogging! It was like exploring another world 🌎! The temperature actually wasn’t so bad. The Pit stay around 20C/68F year round. So chilly but not ❄️🥶!
