Wtf 19 views? That's a great video - thanks for the comparison. I'm searching for an upgrade for my old video mic. The Tascam XLR thingy is exactly what I had in mind. And I think the AT mic sounds a lot better than the videomic pro.

For indoor shoots, would you not rather get small diaphragm condenser microphone? I am in the market for a microphone which works with outdoor and indoor solution. While shotgun may work for all purpose, would not choose the smaller diaphragm one? I watched "STOP Buying Shotgun Mics for Video Production (Here's Why)" video from Shaun Hautly which explains the difference. Hoping to hear your take on it.

That was a very informative video. I wasn’t aware of the drawbacks of shotgun mics indoors. All things considered, if I can only afford to buy 1, I would still buy a shotgun mic for its versatility and just EQ the recording in post if needed. I’m now intrigued and am looking at the audio technica AT2021
