#abandonedhouse #abandonedplaces #abandonedplacesuk
Today i explore an abandoned house lost in the mountains for decades, this abandoned house is the definition of a Prewar time capsule and has been left completely frozen in time for a number of decades in the mountains, This hidden gem of an abandoned house sits untouched in the welsh countryside with the beds still made, dinner table still set and vintage furniture dating back to over a hundred years. As this beautiful abandoned house is slowly decaying and being taken back by nature this could be the last chance to see how the family that once lived here lived. join me as i explore this abandoned house left completely frozen in time for nearly 60 years and see what remains inside.
if you enjoy exploring abandoned places then stick around as i upload weekly

The picture on the easel looked like American actress Grace Kelly who married Prince Albert of Monaco. Also you need to prime a hand pump to get water. What a fabulous place. Please someone restore it!

I thought immediately of Grace Kelly. Why her photo would be there I could think of no reason. We seem to think alike - I was thinking the pump would need priming, but it's likely the leathers inside the pump probably would need replacing as well. Interesting property. I heard somewhere that the boy's school was closed down in the 1980s due to abuse of the students.

I think it's more a care home than a hospital. The room that had the chart on the wall with patient and Dr names is very typical of a nurses station in a care home. Absolutely stunning place Adam. That corridor, which arched round with a garden view, made me think of the game Resident Evil where the pictures of the 7 ages of man were hung. 😂 you always make me smile Adam…Sluice is the room where bed pans, etc would be “sluiced” ( rinsed) off. Used to have them in hospitals where they contained a waste disposal, rinse then hot wash…so imagine it was in use when the building used for elderly folk. Absolutely stunning place Adam, chandelier’s, a beautiful photo of Grace Kelly on the easel when you came in, and such beautiful plasterwork on the ceilings, over doors, fireplaces. It’s a disgrace to allow this amazing place to get damp, black mould…I think this should be taken over by the local authorities and used for something where people can enjoy it again…it’s criminal to let it go to rack and ruin. So glad your documenting what it’s like, because as you say…they don’t make places like this because of cost anymore. Thankyou Adam…but have to say my heart sank when you walked into that green mould room, minus a mask! Tut! 🙄 sigh! Please take care! you KNOW it’s no fun getting lung infections! 😥…love Helen 👩‍🦳🫶😘

Unfortunately local authorities don't have money to refurb these buildings. There is a similar one near me. It's permanently locked up. Once the roof goes and they get into this state it's not economical to bring them back. I used to work in one. The fees paid by the residents plus the staff/energy costs has meant that they are rarely viable nowadays. Sad.

That's what I thought too and all numbered. The smaller ones maybe for babies. Could this have at one time way long ago been a workhouse and they renovated it to be fancier and turned into a care home for all ages? I'm not sure if you had such buildings in the south of England but those cubbies (if they were used for wine, that'd be a helluva lot of wine)! 😬

I think it must have been a care home at some point....also heard a women talking twice, & footsteps !!! thank you for your hard work you do to bring us great content...... I think you both need to return at some point & do some paranormal investigations..... stay safe guys x

Beautiful mansion, why have they left it to rot and decay, wouldn’t cost that much to renovate and make into a hotel or spa, that chandelier was amazing, and the angels on the coving, thanks for showing us round Adam, nice to see you and Matt together again.

Such a shame this building has been abandoned. I hope someone renovates it before it falls into further decay. Hopefully it can be lived in once again, turned into a hotel, or put to some other use.

If it was a nursing home, several years ago, a policy came in, making that all rooms should have a on suite.
