The way rent prices are these days I’m praying for low income housing. I have tried applying to different places and I haven’t been accepted yet hoping 2024 is different! It’s a blessing to have a place regardless doesn’t matter where you live you make the best of it ! Your place is cute ☺️

I grew up in housing. 3 bed townhouse. My bedroom was the size of a walk in closet. I loved it because it gave my family stability. Before that, we lived in a 2 bedroom apartment. I'd live in housing again if I had to.

This is a really nice apartment. Public housing or not, it's a good size and updated. I love how you've organized the bathroom with the bind and the rack over the toilet. For the window in the bathroom, try to have your management get it open. So that the bathroom can be aired out, and mold doesn't start to grow.

You guys have a nice apartment. I grew up in the projects back in the seventies in St Petersburg Florida. Best time of my life growing everyone kept their apartment nice and clean. On Friday nights we ate fried fish and grits. Played a lot of old school music. Ohio players Earth wind & fire. Didn't realize how rich we were in the projects. Much love. Neighbors help raise your kids as well. I am 62 yrs old, miss those days❤

I grew up in the projects in the Bronx back in the 60s and 70s. Back then it wasn't considered ghetto. We had a 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment on the 12th floor. Very spacious living room and kitchen. The entire apartment was tiled but my parents put in carpeting in the living room and cream colored linoleum in the kitchen and hallways leading to the bedrooms. I thought it was beautiful. Everyone got along with each other, we all hung out together in the Playgrounds and Basketball courts. We all went to the same schools up until High School. Back in the day it was fun. Until the late 80s, thats when things started to change and deteriorate. Crack took over. Dealers by the corner stores and some blocks leading into the neighborhood. I started losing a lot of my friends, first to the drugs then to the violence that came with it. In 1996, I finally moved away after my mom passed away. Moved to Florida. Now the place is like a dump. Filled with gangs, violence and drugs. Imagine 5 big 16 story buildings with 8 apartments on each floor, thats a lot if people living in fear for their lives, their children's lives. No thanks...36 years was enough. I'll stick with my nice quiet place in Florida.

@@Bobtailbaddie It's called a "𝙂𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙣𝙃𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙒𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙤𝙬" or a "𝙂𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙣 𝙒𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙤𝙬 It's a window structure exactly like yours, it extends off of the outside of your home, creating a nook where plants and items can be kept. These windows extend off of the house at a 90-degree angle and typically have a glass roof to allow as much sunlight in as possible. You can have some really nice leafy plants and or flowering plants and they'll thrive there. I think it will look awesome. I hope you try it out and let us know how it turns out.

I live in an apartment , but , I've never lived in Section 8 or income-based ( I don't know which is which ) , and it's clean and a roof over your heads and that's a blessing , because a lot of people ; where I live , right now , the city's demolished 3 of the 5 housing projects that we have and are slowly rebuilding them , but , they won't be for Section 8 or people under the age of 65 , because they're making them apartments for the elderlies that live here ; so , the city basically kicked out the younger ones or gave them Greyhound bus tickets to wherever and the rest are either living with their families or out on the streets ; homeless ; and there ate only 2 homeless shelters here and they tore down the Salvation Army . Anyway , your apartment is cute and I haven't heard of project apartments with a pool or gym , thst's cool , good luck with everything and God Bless You .

Is this supposed to be a "humble" way of living? Lol. You americans take everything for grounded. This is a beautiful home. People don't know what it's like to live in actual poverty and starving..

A TV isn't going to be the difference between someone having a home or not. And investments can fail. Get real. Life is too short to never enjoy anything just because you're poor.

Trust, low income housing can get pricey at 30% gross of all of your income or flat rates that are right up there with private market rates. The government is making lots of money from low income housing.
