Incels at the End of History

Men are born for games. Nothing else. Every child knows that play is nobler than work. He knows too that the worth or merit of a game is not inherent in the game itself but rather in the value of that which is put at hazard

Speaking of Red Dead Redemption, always remember that even when John Marston actually did the Gov's dirty work to hunt down his old outlaw members to keep his family safe, they still went for him and his family. So NEVER do their bidding from the start.

@Gomam0n Drugs usually don't create the bizarre public domain compilations that were so prevalent. There were two types of those, short cartoon collections (usually ~30min) that were recorded on reused tape (at the slowest tape speed) and contained at least one racially insensitive cartoon in it's original form. The other was silent movie collections that featured silent films with needle-drop soundtracks, usually of '20s jazz. What if I also told you that some of these quickly-created video labels could have one or more licenses that were too duplicated at *slow speed* on _secondhand tape stock?_

Posting Alinskys rules here to enhance the conversation, for those who have not seen it: 1. “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.” Power is derived from 2 main sources - money and people. “Have-Nots” must build power from flesh and blood. 2. “Never go outside the expertise of your people.” It results in confusion, fear and retreat. Feeling secure adds to the backbone of anyone. 3. “Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy.” Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty. 4. “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules. 5. “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions. 6. “A good tactic is one your people enjoy.” They’ll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They’re doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones. 7. “A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.” Don’t become old news. 8. “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.” Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new. 9. “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.” Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist. 10. “The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition.” It is this unceasing pressure that results in the reactions from the opposition that are essential for the success of the campaign. 11. “If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.” Violence from the other side can win the public to your side because the public sympathizes with the underdog. 12. “The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.” Never let the enemy score points because you’re caught without a solution to the problem. 13. “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions

it used to be 'nerd' was the term that popular people would use to ostracise people they wanted to keep irrelevant, but the people making the video games were probably also 'nerd' types. Then that label was converted for use by the hipster liberal types with the 'women can do it too ' attitude etc, so now they needed to make a new word I guess, its more political now though whereas before I guess it was just a natural result of inherent social behaviour.

They can’t stand the thought of a cool teenage or young adult white guy who has a hot girlfriend, smart ass sense of humor, a bright future and an interest in video games targeted at them. Like you said the games reaffirm these macho values and the old good ones wanted that kind of audience, so all the kind of annoying people who want to ruin them nowadays were ignored by the developers. There’s also something very populist and idealistic about games. You’re in this free market western country, you go into some place off the street, get hired and buy games with your paycheck. And the games are all about fighting tyranny, authoritarian enemies, getting the girl, kicking ass. They instilled something in us.

The modern game is definitely a shell of its past self. I was not really a competitive gamer but I could see and respect games that did appeal to that crowd because they oozed creativity. Nowadays games are so neutered, even Japanese games are woke or at least self-censored and they are as cringe as I feared in the past. A niche game changing for a modicum of normie attention is guaranteed to ruin its appeal for me. I also reject the pornification of our society. People who tell those missing attractive characters to “Go watch porn, incel/coomer” are doing a lot of harm to those trying to avoid that behavior. I believe marriage and children are great gifts and sex is made to facilitate that growth, but it’s not the end goal like the belief of the weird perverted yet puritanical mainstream. We have a lotta broken people from this messed up system. The best thing is to pray to God that those troubled souls get the help they need and can’t find by themselves.

  • @Dousch

At least it makes sense in objective reality, you can’t say the same about the gender delusion.

I remember old tenchu, that you have to wait and was engagin, was fun, and even players and critics that used to criticie lack of mecanic are giving up, like Yatzee, i think he become softer with time. I hate how modern difficulty is mae the enemy more spongy and you weacker, instead of better programing, they just make the eney stronger, you are not making them harder in term of smart, but more tedious. I think the only moder game i have seen where they actualy program a better ai, or not better not so incompetent and actually make it fair, is ironicaly advance wars reboot, the devs, make the ai have to scout and acutally program a different ai and make it a bit more competent. But yes, gameplay is basicly dying, everithing is better grafic, and yet games like hack and slash outside the soy of war, hach and slahs dying, side scroller beat them up, outside river city girls, streets of rage four and i think one more, gone, lets not talk stealth, 4 game is being relegated to some companies, strategy, is basicly disapearing, skill is nearly gone. But the problem is do you think you can put a rat kid, a rat kid in front of a stealth game, even street figther the father of figthing games is becoming casual and i am not a hardcore gamer, i want to have fun but basicly you do nothing, and if you increase difficulty the difficulty jump so much is infiuriating. X com, one of the last actually atempts to bring more turn base strategy, was nerf like crazy, no videogames is becoming more about i dont know pretty grafics and that is it

This seems very strange to me... Are you implying that the harassment, death threats, and threats of mass shooting ascribed to gamergate supporters is okay? Also, I feel like complaining about difficulty in games being too easy is strange too. There are usually difficulty settings, or ways you can challenge yourself if you want, in most games that are primarily gameplay driven. Is it really that bad to let more people be able to enjoy the game if they dislike difficulty? While sure, overcoming difficult pieces of gameplay is a good experience, there are people who can find difficulty in even the easier difficulties. And those who want to do things that are more difficult have the ability to do so. If someone plays something that's too easy for their skill level, they can always go back and play it again, but more difficult. Even in games without difficulty options, there are challenges programmed into the games or imposed by the player that they can use. It is not unreasonable that accessibility allows more people to enjoy a game. And in competitive games, I think the same struggle is there as has always been. There is nearly always in a well made and popular competitive game, a very high skill ceiling. The struggle is still there. And some games are more story driven, or support an agenda that you oppose. You don't have to play them if you don't want to. Some people will enjoy them. Reviewers will even rate them highly, perhaps because of the messages they contain. If you don't agree, you don't have to play and buy the game. If a particular game becomes popular, I think it generally does not affect you that much if you don't seek out relevant interaction with it. To you, it does not matter, unless you make it so.

Actually the agenda does affect us since it infects our favorite franchises that used to not have these agendas. Telling us to just "not play it or watch it" is a spit in the face. Because we want good products from our favorite franchises without it preaching down our throat
