I'm so excited about this series! I found your channel from your Rosewoof series and rewatch all the time! I've played Wild World, City Folk, New Leaf and New Horizons. New Leaf is by far my favorite! However my husband gave me the Isabelle Switch Lite for Christmas and I started a new island that day. My resolution this year is to dedicate myself to play New Horizons every day, slowly building up my island and completing my critterpedia. Now you've come out with this playthrough and it makes it hard for me to pack away my 3ds and New Leaf towns! Lol

QOTD: I am torn between New Leaf and New Horizons. New Leaf has been my comfort game for a pretty long time now, but it feels very limited when compared to New Horizons. On days, when I need simplicity and some relaxing peace of mind New Leaf is unbeatable. When it comes to wanting to be creative and enjoying the ability to customize almost every aspect of my world ~ New Horizons. Wishing you all the best on your new play through and that it brings you nothing, but happiness! I am looking forward to see your vision of Wayback come to life. :)

New Horizons is the first AC game I’ve played, and I just started October 2023. I’ve heard about New Leaf, and it looks so charming! I’ll probably buy it and play it. Also, this game makes ACNH look really Orange. Lol just the overall toning and colors of buildings and stuff. I wish ACNH had a train station and post office.

I LOVE the Alpine furniture set too!! I wish it was in NH. I have a room in my NL house of all Alpine furniture. I was having trouble for the longest time getting the Alpine wallpaper, but I believe I ended up finding one in a balloon one day? I was way too excited 😂

I'm happy that you're playing this game again! I've been watching since 2017 or so with your first New Leaf series in Rosewoof and have been trying to keep up with your videos, but it's sometimes a little difficult because there's so many! 💕 To answer the question... New Leaf is definitely my favorite Animal Crossing game! I love the Gamecube version with all of my heart but there isn't much to do other than fish and catch bugs, and talk to the villagers, of course. Wild World was one I never played until it came out on the Wii U, and I could only play it for a few days because I could not stand the graphics. City Folk is good, it's basically Wild World but with better graphics and worse controls! And New Horizons is good, too! I just wish the villagers had more personality and dialogue to them, and that the Post Office/Shrunk/Working for Brewster came back... But New Leaf has a lot to do, good villager dialogue, and decent customization + decoration options! So it's my favorite. (P.S: oopsies i wrote an entire novel with this comment)

I don’t mean to sound cheesy but this means the world to me that you revisited new leaf. I grew up watching your new leaf videos not to make you feel old but I am a highschool graduate now and life is a lot different than it was back then but it makes me feel like a kid again just hearing you talk and play this game. Though I don’t have a 3Ds anymore I started a play through of ACNH in celebration of this series and the new year here’s to more memories in this incredibly calming,relaxing, and lovely game series!

new leaf is by far my favorite animal crossing game i havent really played the others that well besides new leaf and acnh but i do have them, but new leaf by far my favorite.

My favorite is City Folk, it was my first Animal Crossing game. I also love New Leaf. I have played all of them except the Gamecube version.

I believe New Leaf would be #1 for me. I played Wild World first (visited an insane amount of towns and collected bizarre constellations from a handful - fun feature I'd love to see come back.), then New Leaf. Shortly before ACNH came out, my sister gave me her Wii, so I figured it was the perfect time to get the GameCube version as well as City Folk. It was very hard to get into those 2 games so I didn't do much with them. I bought a Switch Lite and ACNH the first day it came out. Very exciting to finally play an AC game on the day it released. After the last update, I got bored and decided to revisit City Folk and the GC game, figured they deserved a fair chance, decided to work to get perfect town for both. Motion controls took a long time to get used to for CF. After all that, I keep returning to New Leaf. Will be sad when online goes away for 3DS. There were lots of late nights when visiting dream towns would help me get sleepy when I couldn't sleep! Hehe.

I think New Leaf in general is really perfect for laying back in bed to play when you are having trouble falling asleep! I also really love that you went back to check out some of the older games. They're dated now and missing some nice QoL stuff, but they can still have so much charm

New horizons is great, i think they did really well with that and new leaf was what i mainly played but i did like wild world, it was what my older siblings played so i have a special place in my heart for wild world

Having someone else who also played AC or at least knew about the game really makes the games more special, I think :3

Isabelle continues her job in NL to this day, so does that mean its a paradox whenever someone starts on NL for the first time, after the release of NH. Even knowing that the AC games are more updates to the last ones, rather than sequels. There are stories like Sables story that got additions in WW and CF/LGTTC, but there is nothing extra in NL except for the pictures behind Sable. I started watching you since Rosewoof, and I have always stuck around for Pokemon, Zelda, and you introduced me to Kingdom Hearts.

Not me starting a new town because of this series already 👀 IM SO EXCITED

I kinda played Wild World, it was on a friend's DS that was with me for a couple weeks. It was enjoyable! That experience made me buy a 3DS a few years ago and try New Leaf. I hadn't had much time to play last year, but I'll definitely take my time to play more this year! I need a few minutes to relax every day! (Just finished the Ice furniture set today 😃)

I own every single ac game except GameCube (tho I only own wild world on wiiu virtual console) New leaf is definitely my favourite tho probably just because it was my first. Lots of great memories from this game talking to my villagers and going to my friends towns. Funny thing is that I don’t really remember the approval section at all so this is pretty interesting to watch. This video made me remember the moment when I got oranges from Isabelle. I forgot that was a thing!

Answer to the question! I’ve played all the games except for City Folk! New Leaf was my first, but Gamecube was incredibly charming and Wild World was pretty good. I was not a fan of New Horizons personally…it was a little bit too much customization for my liking, personally. New Leaf is my one true love though, I’ve played that game to death!

I started with New Horizons, and then bought a 3DS a couple years ago to be able to play New Leaf. I feel like New Leaf is more charming, but New Horizons is supreme when it comes to decorating. I’m hoping the next game is a mix of both!

Oh it's interesting Isabelle told you that since it's winter, bug catching won't be popping off like usual. I've never started a town in winter! In fact the dung beetle was my very last bug to get in new leaf 😅 Weird lil guy

QOTD: I've played Wild World, City Folk, GameCube and New Leaf (in that order). I think objectively my favourite would have to be New Leaf, it's just the one with the most content/quality. That said, I have very strong emotional ties to Wild World too, and I also had City Folk early on (GameCube and New Leaf were later on), so I love that game too!

I can definitely agree. New Leaf just has so much going on compared to the older titles!

I miss new leaf’s items. If they had all of the NL furniture items in NH I would love it. In NL, I had 4 fully decorated houses each with unique themes and was planning 8 in NH, but without 90% of themes or series I played it for a few months and that’s it. :(

I have played every animal crossing game and my favorite is definitely new leaf. The soundtrack is unmatched and I actually enjoy the more restricted and relaxed gameplay compared to new horizons.

New Horizons definitely opened things up in ways that almost felt stressful! I can see what you're saying for sure

I really loved the animals and Resetti from the Game Cube game, but each game added some real quality of life updates to the experience. I love the room decorating mechanic in NH and being able to decorate outside and just all the stuff. But New Leaf is a better daily experience I think. I love the shopping district and I love the animal interactions in New Leaf a bit more than NH. But they are all so fun.

Honestly I have a hard time choosing between New Leaf and New Horizons since leaf was my first animal crossing game and I have a lot of fond memories but I also met a lot of my friends through horizons so it’s very special to me aswell! I feel like people like to trash talk horizons for not having that much content but they also forget how much the devs blessed us with quality of life stuff… I too did not enjoy path plot reseting very much! 😅

You can’t technically move your villagers in this game the only way to do it is before you start up the game see where the new plot is and if you don’t like it turn off the game and then turn it back on and it will change its location

Hi crystal I had to delete my new leaf town because someone moved in right next to my house and it was in a bad spot so I am probably not going to play new leaf for awhile until it comes to the Nintendo Switch so that we can move houses 🏘️ where we want them to go ❤

New Leaf was my first AC game and currently still my favorite, though Wild World is a very close runner up. New Horizons, while very pretty, felt too cosmetic to me and just isn't as fun as the other games imo
