In This Corner of the World - Hope in Tragedy (Spoiler Free Review)

Фильм және анимация

In this spoiler-free analysis of the anime movie In This Corner of The World, I dive into the core themes of the film and attempt to explain what this movie directed by Sunao Katabuchi is all about. While most war movies set in World War II focus on the front lines of battle, this movie takes a more reserved approach when describing warfare. This makes the anime feel much more real in comparison to other films set in the same time period. This movie is one of my favorites, and I tried to do it justice by exploring the characters and the story in great detail.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. It shows the humanity in war, when humanity is normally absent or outright lost. People suffer under extreme circumstances such as war, and it's painful. But this movie goes to show that even a war can't divide love and human relationships in the long run. For me, this movie is 11/10. An absolute masterpiece

I watched this movie on a film festival in Norway. I went in blind. Had no idea what it's about. Then the opening started and the main theme started to play, I knew this one would make me cry. And it did.

I remember finding this movie on Netflix one night. I had heard good things about it from some other people who had seen it already. I knew that the atomic bomb was going to be dropped, that's just history, but I didn't realize the other things that would happen. I think this film should be revered with some of the other classic anime movies. Thank you for commenting btw!

Good movie. Grave of fireflies was indeed more devastating for me who has seen some terrible things. Hope part was the best in this movie

spoilers on this comment unintentional I may have asked this before but like in the movie there's this one section I really can't understand when suzu goes back to visit her family she's like exhausted and sleeping which I need to ask was she dreaming the whole married and living with another family part or was that part in the movie legitimate? Thanks

My girlfriend gave me this manga as a present last week. I cried so much when i finished it haha. I think the manga resonates more with japan/asian readers, because some words lost their meaning after translated to english. Also, i can really relate to many traditions, which adds to the emotion factor too! Do check out the manga, it's great :P

I just came to this video right after having watched the film knowing you had something interesting to say about it. This movie presents to us a unique anti-war story, but it's also a display of how the average civillian tries their best to make ends meet during a conflict of this scale, one that no one desires, regardless of which one is on the recieving end, or the ones causing it I'll admit that I wasn't 100% emotionally invested in the film, but I found it compelling the way it handled it's ideas, for what it's technically speaking, the longest animated feature film thus far
