In the Snow (Original piano song)

Музыка

I have a bandcamp now, with 1 album containing most of the songs I've made this year, it's free and just an alternative place where you can listen to these songs outside of youtube.

and also, this is more improv, as usual, but there is some editing of my raw recording to make it sound nicer. 95% of the song is from one long recording while there were a few bits I rearranged/re recorded, I think it still counts as improv but I wanted to be transparent about it in case anyone notices

I’m having a lot of anxiety due to college admissions and finals coming up. This really eases me. Thanks so much for making this.

Improvisation early into a music writing career is very ethereal because you can tell much more easily the mind is following these core known threads of tonality. It's less like an exploration the way improvisation often becomes later, but more like recollection. You've heard all these ideas before, but not in this order, not with you at the wheel. Very therapeutic stuff. I got rid of my keyboard earlier this year because I lacked space in my room and don't have anywhere else to put it. But I've been missing it. I never uploaded or did much with my own playing, it was just for me. It sounded similar to this. Even if it's hard to make music, it'll come with time. Simply do as much as you can. It's like learning language, history and sport at the same time. Not all facets will grow at equal pace, but it's fine to be uneven like that. Trust the process.

It was very lovely. I listened to this as I wrote my notes on inflation in my country, wwww. This is for my Philosophy class. What type of piano do you have? Is it the normal piano that you have to tune yourself? Or do you have a keyboard instead? I haven't gotten to attend a real piano class yet, but I did attend a sort of a vocal training event (that was also them advertising themselves) and I never knew that singing and pianos are best friends in terms of pitch (disclaimer I don't know my words yet)! And while I was there, I was _kiiiind_ of taught on how to hit the piano keys, they did a sort of claw hand gesture and told us to hit the keys with our nails and to hit all the way. I tried, and, wow. I never realised how little control I had over my ring and pinky finger. And so, now I just had the thought to just maybe try watch some KZread videos or search around the internet, just for fun and for that extra bit of knowledge, wwww. Also, omg I didn't know you had more songs, I only knew of Slow Feelings and In The Snow! Nice :33333 P.S : I NEED A SPACE TO SHARE MY THOUGHTS-- I CAN DEFINITELY HEAR KIRBY'S PAD IN "Too Many Thoughts" ANDI LOVE THAT SONG. I LOVE THAT GAME (I emulated it..shhh...) I LOVE THEIR SONGS AAAAA- OK I'm gonna continue listening to it, I'm at the 1st minute mark :3

I'm glad you liked it, and also that you found the others on bandcamp but I'll get to that at the end I have a digital piano (I think that's what it's referred to as), which basically emulates the feeling of playing a real one (with weighted keys) and produces a mostly authentic sound, surprisingly these are still pretty expensive and I have a very basic Yamaha P500 or something like that. I would like to have a real piano one day, but they're probably too expensive for me, and with the one I have I can plug an instrument cable directly into my recording setup for a clear sound And yeah when a piano is perfectly tuned and since it basically has every note it's a good anchor when judging your pitch when singing... I think, I'm not much of a singer Very cool that you're starting to get into music classes, I wish you luck I wasn't ever really taught how to "properly" play the keys, I mostly picked up over time to have my hands spread out ready to move and play complex chords quickly, I just use the tips of my fingers which is pretty much the same thing as you said My best advice for playing a piano is keep your wrists straight, put energy into your whole body/emotion into playing the notes, make sure your posture isn't bad for health reasons, and don't be afraid to experiment or mess around. At least for me if I worry too much about doing something the right way it takes a bit of the fun out of it, these songs are just me fumbling around on my piano figuring out the direction I want to go mid song. Also, over time it'll get easier to press the keys, and pressing around the middle of the key with your three middle fingers lets your thumb/pinky naturally rest on the edge of their respective keys and I find that way most comfortable, when I have to stretch my hands wide to play complex chords I also move my middle fingers near the top of the key sometimes in order to hit the notes properly. Sorry that's a bit of a tangent, there's a lot that goes into piano but don't worry too much about doing everything proper when you're just starting out But back to the music stuff, I barely have any songs and I just created this one, basically the small album I just released is all the songs I made this year and pretty much all I've ever made so far, Too many thoughts was a scrapped version of Spring Ruins that was the first improv piece I ever recorded (I think). I sent it to a friend and was embarrassed about it because it needed more work, but I ended up making the Ruins song out of one of the melodies and forgetting about the original... Until I was making the bandcamp album and found the track and thought it was solid enough to be released, so I did a little bit of editing and cut out one segment that kinda sucked, but was really happy with it. Around the time I had made it I was definitely inspired by Kirby's Pad, I also love the song (and I used to play Epic Yarn when I was younger). I may have come up with the melody just trying to derive something from Kirby's Pad, but I really don't remember cause sometimes the melodies just happen, while making it though I wanted to create something similar in vibe anyway. Both In the Snow was created and Too many Thoughts was finalized in the same day that I also released the album, I'm not sure if that seems rushed but I wanted to start a bandcamp for a while/be a real musician(tm) and felt that I finally had enough of something to warrant it. Sorry, that's a whole lot of words, I'm just happy that you liked the tracks and I appreciate you listening to the album, I don't know if I'm going to release the 4th song on youtube cause it is still a little scuffed or I just feel nervous about my works all the time, but it also gives people a reason to listen to the bandcamp album I should cut my ramblings off here this is why I called my song too many thoughts my brain ceases to stop

@@CryCafe *The Promised Novel* Yeaaa, I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that you have 2 more songs in Bandcamp (one scrapped, originally, but I quite loved). Wow! It sure does emulate the feeling of playing on a real piano, I was definitely fooled. xDDD And WOW IT'S SO COOL THAT YOU CAN PLUG IN YOUR PIANO TO YOUR COMPUTER FOR A CLEAR SOUND, I LIKE THAT!!! I'm not much of a singer myself. It just so happens that the not-a-class I attended to taught us the breathing techniques to singing and whathaveyou. It was all fun though, I was already lowkey fishing for a way to sing better so I don't feel embarrassed over my own singing voice so that was very cool. D'awww, I wouldn't say I'm getting into music classes. xDD I won't be able to touch a real piano yet so I don't really count KZread videos as classes. Although..... technically it is still learning... it's just informal... so you're technically right.... lol.. But anyway, thanks.

Sorry I got the classes thing wrong, I thought you had gotten or were getting into some music class, but if you manage to get a DAW like FLStudio or something similar it allows you to use your computer keyboard as a midi keyboard, so while it doesn't feel at all similar to playing piano that's an option you might be able to use if you're inclined. There are also tons of singing tutorials on youtube that are pretty helpful, I used to delve into those when I was trying to sing but I never got over my voice, they help with proper breathing or 'form' so you don't damage your throat, but it's kind of hard to understand for me Hell yeah I'm glad you're vibing to my scuffed work, I'm very happy I made something that's vibeable, when I make I mix I really vibe with the songs I put in but can't take much credit other than I put the songs together in a good way, so I hope eventually I can make some huge banger tracks that make me feel a similar way Off topic but I still own epic yarn and a lot of kirbo games, I don't play them as much now but still have a collection, and I've done 2 whole covers of Kirby's Pad which you might've seen already, I made a video going through the Kirby's Dream Collection last year, that video is pretty bad but it's a thing the snow creature is supposed to be bread cat in a different shape, I didn't have a good way of drawing the cat head so I tried making it really fluffy, and did a lot of j shapes because that's what looked right to me, you can also see some of the bread lines near his back And in case you were confused, the 4th song was just what I was calling Too many Thoughts so you're already listening to it with your homework! Good luck with that btw, and thank you for your kind words, encouragement, and support, I don't know how to properly express it without sounding fake-youtuber-y but I really appreciate not only that but the long comments make me feel like you're really interested in some of the songs/mixes or at least have a lot to say so they're really fun to respond to, I don't often get to ramble on about music. But yeah thank you for your kind existing it helps my self esteem level up ++🐔 👍
