I’ve seen A lot of videos but this one is best when describing layouts.
Man even the videos from those so called pros or even the companies aren't as detailed as this. Thanks very much. Got a used ball for cheap and plugged it today. Now i can plan out on how to drill the ball

Glad it helped! Thank you!
I had to watch this video a couple time. But definitely the MOST informative in explaining how to layout a ball. Thank you for this video. You are a genius and great explanation!
Who knew how technical that is??
Love to see a left hand drill for lefty’s.
The USBC has measured the effect of side weight and it does matter, its show affect on motion is bigger than intermediate differential.
Good info

pap layout is the reactive layout
G'day mate. Greetings from Sydney Australia. I bought myself a Hammer Axe 11lb ball from Amazon, should arrive in Australia next week. I'm a straight shooter...currently my main ball is the Phaze 2 pin-up with finger-tip configuration. When I try to bowl straight down the lane it hooks late affecting my aim. What layout settings would you recommend for my style bowling for my new Hammer Axe 11lb ball? So I can let my ProShop guy know here in Australia to do for me. I'm also a right hander.

Hey there! The Axe doesn’t have a strong coverstock or core, so I think you’re fine doing the same layout if you wanted to keep it simple. If you absolutely don’t want it to hook, you can always put the pin below the bridge. I’d also consider learning to adjust to the hook on your Phaze 2 and seeing if it helps lead to more strikes… that might be worth testing out!

@@FloppyPENGuinn I'm 166cm tall and I weigh 64.2 KG....Ball to body weight ratio might solve my game and ball config too I think. i'm in my late 30s
Other than middle and ring finger being on opposite sides of the bridge. Are there other differences for a left handed lay out? If so, could you walk through a left hand lay out?

Great question. The main difference is, instead of going to the right side for the PAP, you’ll go to the left. From there, everything is the same. You’ll start out by going to the left side and you’ll want to just mirror what’s in the video

@@horseshoe_nc No problem! Im glad you asked. Lefties sometimes get left out of the equation and I don’t want that to be the case

@@FloppyPENGuinn it is understandable, I think left handers make up less than 10% of bowlers.
hello, I have balls that I used one-handed before. Now I've decided to take two hands. I filled it and want to drill again. should i use the old angles? I write the balls and old measurements below. can you suggest me? 900 global the break (40*3 3/4*25) morich seek&destroy (70*3 3/8*40) brunswick diamond back (55*4 1/4*40) Hammer Razyr (60*4 3/4*45)

Hey! So, something you must consider is how your PAP changes when going from 1 to 2-hands. It normally will change a very big amount, which drastically affects layouts. With that said, I would suggest increasing your pin to PAP distances more, so that you don’t have any problems with the ball over-flaring and burning up. 2-handers typically like pin to PAP distances of 4 3/4” or more. So, for any balls you want to be more controllable, something like 50x5x40 would be great. Anything you want to hook more and have that hockey-stick motion would be like 65x4 3/4x25. Hope that helps you out

@@FloppyPENGuinn I understand, thank you very much. Are the measurements you gave the same for symmetrical and asymmetrical balls? Which would be a better option for urethane and weak core balls, especially for short lubrication patterns? controlled movement? sharper movement?
@FloppyPENGuinn

@@noweanji Urethane is dependent on what you want to do. They’re great for short oil patterns, many exist like the purple hammer, pitch black, etc. Symmetric balls are typically going to have a sharper movement downlane, whereas asymmetric balls are smoother and roll earlier because their cores are much larger (typically). I would meet up with your local pro shop operator and have him watch you throw some balls and go over that with you to determine the exact best option for you individually

Pap layout
CG does matter a lot for Full Roller layouts with Symmetrical balls. You also never explained how to make a layout based on "our" game.
Didn’t you moved up the finger holes.

You’re the first person to ever comment that they noticed it. What actually happened was a bit of KZread editing magic 😅 it’s actually not the same ball 🤯

Could you go into a lil bit more detail on how to put a layout on a ball or go slower I’m having a hard time understanding

Noted. I have been trying to keep these videos around 8 or 9 minutes, but you’re right-sometimes I could definitely slow down. I’ll make sure I don’t blow through anything in the next ones!
