I’m liking the Eureka audio better!

Eureka release of Yes Madam sounds like the German releases of Royal Warriors & this. The German release of Yes Madam sounds like the EUREKA release of this film. Overall the clarity of the German releases is my go to for audio.

Eureka subs are clearly superior. I like the auto too. More harmonic distortion. Prefer it with a bit of noise rather than scrubbed clean (and the German release sounding more shrill. The lost some of the bass).

While I'd say the clip you posted on Twitter goes to the German blu, I'm not so sure about this footage. Yes, it does sound clearer overall, but it's almost like the sound it's too opened up, and some effects end up sounding weird (especially obvious during the street fight sequence). Now, this is very subjective, but there's also a disconnect between my expectations of what I remember HK films from that era sounding like on crappy transfers that we had back then, and the more modern sound on the German blu. It's objectively better, but also a bit jarring because of that (and because the image does not look like a modern film to that extent), if you understand what I'm saying. I think that somewhere halfway between these two releases would be perfect for me. Also, is that just because of KZread, or is the audio on the German blu slightly out of sync?

Is about what you like. The gun scene in the German Blu-ray is too sharp but overall the clarity and the music shine. Listen to the club scene in the EUREKA release, in one part the bass hits distortion levels. Some people like that overall sound from those mixes. Again is about showing the differences and whatever version people like is not a wrong choice. Overall I still say the upcoming release by 88 Films is the release to get. I really appreciate your comment fam. There is a reason why I did not do commentary on this video because I want people to engage in the comments and not put any ideas in their head.

@@TimesSqKungFU I am patiently waiting for that 88 boxset to get released! I haven't seen two of the series before and the other two its been a while. I've been holding off so I can experience them in all their restored glory.

Could you please do a review on the movie “Private Eyes” by Sam Hui? Also, great video.

German Bluray has cleaned-up the audio too much that its lowered the quality, most heard in the music.

The muffled sound in the EUREKA one becomes distracting and it drowns out certain instruments and effects. The German one is very bright at times but everything is detailed. The Laserdisc doesn’t sound muffled like that like the EUREKA release, it actually sounds better.

I have both. The German blu-ray sounds like the muffled Eureka track squeezed through an equalizer. Result sounds artificial, sharp and often distorted on the high end.

Original and Home release audio. It sounds good.

Thanks tge comparison. Subtitles definitely goes to Eureka, sound wise German definitely superior.

Will you be doing a comparison between the Eureka 4k supercop and the 88 films 4k release? Would love to see your video comparison for those releases. Would also like to see/hear your comparison between the blu ray vs 4k disc from each set.

Is not in my budget right now and will be launching a Patreon soon to handle such request. From the people I spoke to that do have it say it looks the sabe but with more features and the other cut is in 4K unlike the eureka release.
