In The Heart of Afro Fijians Culture: The African Connection Pt 3/10 (Sous-titres en Francais)
Blacks in Fiji can trace their roots for thousands of years back to the Lake Tanganyika area in East Africa.
Lake Tanganyika is an African Great Lake. It is the second-oldest freshwater lake in the world, the second-largest by volume, and the second-deepest, in all cases after Lake Baikal in Siberia. It is the world's longest freshwater lake. The lake is shared between four countries-Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Burundi, and Zambia, with Tanzania (46%) and DRC (40%) possessing the majority of the lake. It drains into the Congo River system and ultimately into the Atlantic Ocean.

Here are the Fijians clearly declaring that their ancestors came from Africa thousands of years ago, by ship. This establishes two facts. The first is that these are our people, and they're Africans by descent. Some people keep pushing the false narrative that these people have nothing to do with Africa. Secondly, the fact that Africans travelled to this island by ship thousands of years ago, tells us that Africans have been sailing the seas for centuries. Also notice that the distance between Africa and Fiji Islands is about 9,000 miles. The distance between West Africa and North America is about 4000 miles. So if Africans could sail 9000 miles to Fiji Islands, means they could've also sailed to the Americas, which is a shorter distance by comparison. Thanks brother for this great video.
THE REAL FIJIANS WERE HERE SINCE TIME BEGAN . THE PEOPLE WHO CAME FROM AFRICA ARRIVED , FIJIANS WERE ALREADY LIVING ON THE LAND
Tanganyika, today is Tanzania. We have a place known as RUFIJI in Tanzania. Welcome home
Do more interview him with the locals people not only the guides,we need more of their stories from the elders.
All I see in these comments is a lot of non- Fijians trying to explain their own history to them. Lol.
Bula, Fijians originated from Africa.
Being a grandson of a fijian chief, our legend state we traveled down the river Rufiji in Africa south of Tanzania. Apparently we were warrior who also worked as gold mines Egypt
For all those people arguing... We're all from Africa man its the mother land
If a fijian says she or he is from Africa then they are, some went and returned landing in Vuda, BUT.... the Real I Taukei will say otherwise...We were always here... RA TU e delani yavu makawa
Waoh! They do the same as we used to do in Tanzania, especially in special occasions like this
As an African living in Fiji I can tell you I’ve heard all these stories about African connections but the reality and treatment on the ground is different..
