Well, let’s face it. The villain from the animated movie would be hard to translate in a Stage Musical and they most likely wanted to keep the musical somewhat historical accurate anyway.

I can understand why they took the musical in the more serious direction they did, and it's more respectful to the actual history. But the lack of this song definitely stings a bit.

I thought so too at first but I really love how they incorporated the melody into Stay, I Pray You. It showed how beautiful the melody is, something I never noticed because In The Dark Of The Night is rather cheery. I love this song, but it's not like it was erased from the original movie so I don't mind anymore. What will forever bug me though is that they switched "on every leaf, on every stalk" to "on every stalk, on every leaf" in The Prince of Egypt. It makes my skin crawl.

I love how Anna is not only extremely good at singing (she has improved so much) but acting as well. She gives personality to the songs she sings, it's not just a cover that copies what the og singer does.

It has been 20 years since Kevin Conroy sang "Am i blue" by Ray Charles. In honor of the fallen dark knight, id really really love to hear Anna sing "Am I blue"

It was in the episode This Little Piggy of Justice League Unlimited. It's a good episode and a good performance. It also plays on a radio at one point in the DCAU movie Batman & Mr. Freeze: Subzero (though not performed by Conroy). Someone involved in the DCAU (possibly Conroy himself) was definitely a fan.

Im suddenly getting ptsd flashbacks of me being exposed to this movie through this song as a very small child and getting nightmares from it WHILE also banging my head to this absolute banger of a song!!

In fact, as a Russian speaker, it has always seemed strange to me that he says "Dosvidaniya", because this farewell implies that you will see each other again. It would have been more logical if he had said "Прощай, Аня". This roughly translates to "I apologize for anything I might have done to offend you, because this is the last time we see each other." And "Прощай" is exactly what I would say to someone I'm going to kill lol

Gosh, I swear, no one can slay villain songs as good as Anna. And the way she said "Do Svidaniya"? Girl, that's basically iconic! This is just pure perfection!

The amount of indignant rage you put into 'one little girl got away' Is probably my favourite part and really sets the scene for the rest of the song.

There are simply no words for how amazing I find her tone and clarity and intensity and all this other technical vocal stuff, but I think the fact that her voice gives me goosebumps every time I hear her sing really speaks volumes to just how talented she is.

YAAAAAAAAASSSSS MY QUEEENNN!!!!!!!!! God, I love this song so frigging much!!! Rasputin is one of the most underrated villains of animated flicks of all time. Christopher Lloyd portrayed him so well. And the movie? "Anastasia" came out in 1997. I remember it well because I had turned 17 not too long before and I was going through hell in silence. I was mentally ill. I didn't know what I had but I knew something was terribly wrong. When "Anastastia" came out, I asked my parents if I could see it on my own and they agreed. I was a little nervous but not much. I was excited. As I sat in my seat, the lights dimmed out, the ads and then the coming soon movie trailers came on. Felt like forever. Then the entire theatre went dark and the movie started. And for over an hour and a half, all my worry, confusion, sadness, anger, depression and despair just melted away. I was free from the outside world, free from my own wretched thoughts. And I enjoyed every bit of the movie. It has a very special place in my heart and even at 43, it still resides in that particular spot in my heart. My late Mom always said that "Harry Potter" (the book series) saved my life and God help me, it did. But I can't deny that it was "Anastasia" that gave me the hope and courage to go on. To fight to live. And I am forever grateful to this fantastic movie. I'm sorry for my babbling but...oh well!!! Great job on the song Anna!!! I was singing right along with you!!!
