September 2010

Pettit brings concepts of restitution, reliance and expectancy to life in a way that only he can, complete with a plastic snout. Who's watching in 2024? Mark Pettit Jr. Beloved “singing professor” inspired thousands of students throughout his four decades at BU Law.

I had Mark for secured transactions. One day, he decided to take whole class to see Repo Man, a movie somewhat relevant to Article 9 of the UCC.

How is restitution different from reliance? Restitution: Give back to promisee whatever she lost in contract. Reliance: Give back to promisee so she is in the same position as before the contract.

Ok so... An appeal is saying "hey! Someone with MORE EXPERIENCE NEEDS TO LOOK AT THIS!" Until the process is exhausted by experience.. sounds logical.. BUT, I am a firm believer in viewpoints as well... which changes over time and becomes progressive.
