Или вешали на шею кирпич на цепочке, с которым надо проходить неделю вообще не снимая. А вообще в армии можно всё, главное не спалиться. На губу если и ездили, то за какие дикие залёты вроде самовола, бухача и т. д.

Not a tank. That was a БМП-2 (BMP-2) IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicle). The difference is that these things are lighter, have less armor, usually carry a lighter, faster firing armament to engage smaller targets. IFVs are also more mobile because they have less weight.

My point was that there's no military action in mandatory military service (conscription) going on, nowhere, people just fucking around out of boredom. This is only for a case of a total war, so there is at least some people in so called "army reserves". The main defence mechanism is "mutually assured destruction" doctrine.

Помню в учебке, уже весной, в начале апреля, когда стало пригревать, чувак га боевой зоне - Таурене - забрался на ящики, среди штабелей выдвинул один и массу давил. Не дует почти, сверху греет и сержант найти не может. А я уже на втором году спал в 66-м на инструментальном ящике, прочен барахло сгреб к выходу, лето, воскресенье, меня не нашли... Взлетку в учебке помыть щетками РБХЗ, а потом "машкой" натереть, эх... У нас "Машкой" был ящик из-под вэвэ, с кирпичами. У танкистов в До́беле трак.... В Отряде ВТС "машки" не было, зато потом на втором году мытье с мылом было каждый день в наряде по роте... А массу мы давили и под кроватями в кубрике и потом в ящике под телевизором....

To share a story, when I was in "training" for an "unnamed" branch of the "military"... There was a guy in our training group who was so short he required a waiver to join. However, one day he removed all of his clothing, hid inside a locker, and waited for this guy to come back and open his locker. He then jumped out of said locker, ass naked, and proceeded to charge at the dude who promptly fell on his ass and tried to scramble backwards while screaming like he was being violated by an animal. Our small friend received an article 15 for his efforts and that story was repeated over and over for years.

Yeah.... I remember when this first came out. I was doing homework in quarantine in the kitchen, and I saw the thumbnail out of nowhere. I thought, "Some guy in a mask?" and boom! I get this masterpiece. I listened to it all the time when I did homework. I wish we could go back. It is better than war. We must remember that every day normal Russians do not war. I have families in Ukraine too.

This may be the most effective Army recruitment video I’ve ever watched.

Favorite story is of French soldiers getting their MAS 36 rifles stuck together by sticking one gun on the other side of a stored bayonet preventing them from being separated, Forgotten weapons did a cool vid on it.

I had an interesting chat with a NATO official once. He noted how Balkan people have this silly notion that the Army exists to transport, provide and support the population in times of crisis. Be it distributing supplies, firefighting, floods, building field hospitals, transport or rescue. And that no army could hope to become professional with that mindset. My response was that unlike it`s Western counterparts - Slavic people don`t share the same "conquest" mentality, our armies indeed serve the people, be it against an enemy with a rifle or natural disaster. They are made of ordinary people doing their best when times get hard (which, in the Balkans seams to permeate quite often. ) So, this video indeed makes me happy. Its a Slavic thing after all, to try and stay human while everything points otherwise. So I raise a vodka bottle and salute my Eastern brethren - За ваше здоровье, солдаты!
