Thank you so much for your kind review!🙏😊 Jepp, this is fairly large equipment!😅 I know my feet are small, since I’m a tiny man, but the comparison of my euro size 43 feet makes an impression of its size.😂 The slim teeth on the 4 teeth bucket has a weight per tooth of about 70 kilos when their new, the large ones on the 5 tooth bucket weighs about 100 kilos each when new!😄 Pretty hard to change by hand, turns out as a heavy gym exercise!🤪😅 Thanks for watching, and for sharing your thoughts!🙏😊

Thank you very much for your kind feedback!🙏😊 Yes, large equipment like this, has a pretty high maintenance budget!😄 That’s why our machines are bought with a maintenance deal with the supplier, so that the expenses can be predictable! Bucket wear is something our own workshop take care of! The cost is high even so, steel parts and welding equipment has high cost of its own.😅 But, even though the costs are high, we manage to make it profitable due to high production!😋

Have been an about “life & death” struggle with a massive and hard pile for over a week..🥵😅 It is gone now though, so my mind has recovered a bit, even though my body feels like abused..😂 I see that you have done a marathon through my videos lately, I really appreciate the joy you express when watching and writing!😍🙏 Fun to experience that you use the videos for relaxation at night time, you appear to me as just as enthusiastic as I am!😋 You are not the only one watching excavators in play in bed, I do exactly the same thing myself..😄🤭 So I wonder,, where does your interest come from?🙂 Do you work in construction yourself, or has your enthusiasm for heavy machinery come from somewhere else? @@norwegianearthmovers Your delayed responses are understandable.😊 I have been binge watching your videos because I'm so behind, trying to catch up. From my younger days as a little girl, I've always loved big machinery. I enjoy the digging and loading rock videos especially after a long day at work, they relax my mind and I easily fall asleep as sometimes this can be an issue. Even my husband queries what's my fascination with excavators? Lol I cant explain it myself I just love to watch them work. No, I am not in construction, but I would love the experience of being on site at a quarry, mine or wherever the machines are just to observe or maybe even do a test drive🤣🙈. I'm sorry to hear you're so exhausted, I can only imagine how the long days are and how much it can take a toll on the body but most importantly please ensure you get adequate rest to rejuvenate. As for my hydraulic hero, even though there was no literal rescuing, I'm grateful it was a KZread notification from Norwegian Earthmovers that saved the day. No disappointments at all. 😊❤🇯🇲

@@skytriff hehe, I see that we share the same fascination with the same passion!😄😍 I grew up in my fathers tool box, in his old back hoe.😅 I was with him a lot, could operate excavators, tractors and forest forwarder before I started at school as a 6 year old! I have always been so mesmerized by heavy equipment, so there wasn’t many options to choose between for my livelihood.😆 My ex wife hated my fascination, but the woman I’m with now sees it as a strength 😍 It is just healthy to a persons mind to have a passion, no matter what that passion is!😋 Hehe, there have been many nights where I have had to put on a long video to watch as well, just to catch my thoughts from running wild.. Benjamin has without knowing it helped me fall asleep at least a 100 times!😅 It is just so soothing, by starting to watch, and when my eyes closes, I experience the operation through the sounds by imagining my self there!😍 Hehe, I do recover quickly, but I tend to fall into a “war mode” when fighting hard piles..😆 My days do have their length, 12 hours fights do take a toll indeed..🥵😂 My mind just shuts out everything not related to that challenge ahead, I guess that it’s my way of trying to take care of myself when I feel that my body starts to hurt..😄 When it’s done, it’s over! It’s rewarding to overcome a challenge, even though it feels exhausting!🤩 I am really thankful for your appreciation, the enthusiasm you explain for my videos mean a lot to me!🙏 I’m glad that the video could substitute the hero!😅

@@toddgreenwell9568 I do prefer the 5 tooth, since it is so much better when it comes to picking up single rocks and scraping together materials!😋 It is a bit harder to fill, but the production is about the same even so, since everything else is much faster to perform! However, I want to change the tooth system, to the ones I had on the 4 tooth bucket!😋 That, and a bit more pointy front, would result in a perfect bucket!🤩

When I worked in the oil sands in northern Alberta, we always left our machine on the lot and had fuel and service trucks come to us, but I am new on this channel, maybe different habits in Norway... awesome video 👍👍

Just as a matter of interest.I worked in a sand and Gravel quarry. Slightly smaller scale than you see here. Well! One day, the excavator hit a load of Clay. They knew that there was an enormous tonnage of sand and gravel there,So! Management decided they would get an explosive firm in to blast the clay. Well they arrived,oh no problem we’ll sort this. Well,they spent two days preparing for the blast. And then the time arrived.We thought it was going to be fairly spectacular. They detonated it, and to be fair there was quite a loud “Crumph” But! Unfortunately nothing moved! The clay refused to be blown up. We, the fitters were absolutely in stitches. We couldn’t stop laughing. They went off with their tails between their legs,and in the end it was the Machinery that had to dig it out.🤣🤣 Quite expensive seam of sand and Gravel.

Indeed!😍 I realize how much I have been missing the 5’th tooth, must say that I prefer this setup!😋 But, I would also prefer the 3 teeth in the middle a bit longer ahead of the corner teeth, as this bucket knife is a little bit too straight with its 10 centimeters center advance! I would like the delta front to advance the center teeth 20 centimeters, as well as I would like to get rid of these large J800 “dinosaur teeth”..😅 The Advansys teeth I have been using on the 4 teeth buckets, are way sharper!🤩 Thank you very much for watching, and for sharing your thoughts 🙏🤗

@@dablacky2702 haha, they do indeed, but they turn out as short “boxing gloves” compared to the Advansys teeth..🤪😅 Just need to wear out these 5 adapter first, then we’ll see!😂 There’s no doubt that the J800’s reduces both ton per hour and ton per liter of fuel, so it’s not going to be the J system in the future!😝😄

Enjoyed the vid, love the larger equipment. My preference would have been for a dozer to make a full bench of the well shot rock and let the 390 work it's way back and forth without having to take the time to make his own bench.

New bucket seems a bit harder to fill when you encounter larger rocks. But also seems to get a fuller bucket. Need to add some wear protectors btw the teeth on the 4-tooth...

Thanks for taking your time to share your thoughts!🙏😊 Yes, it’s a bit harder to fill!😅 Miss the sharp teeth on the 4 tooth bucket, I think that those teeth would make this bucket penetrate the pile a whole lot better!🤩 Jepp, there will be added what’s needed of wear steel on the 4 tooth now! The bucket that this five tooth bucket replaced, is on our workshop now for massive reinforcement as well! 4 months of loading these high abrasive materials resulted in holes in the sides of it..😄 It surely takes on the equipment to work in this environment!😅

This is my fav channel, so satisfying listening to that blasted rock going in the bucket and dumped in to the truck. Also the sound of that 390 swing is beautiful I could fall asleep to that lol. Where do the trucks take all the rock to?

When my Partner sees me watching these vids,she says it’s just a machine digging rock. I say, I was a fitter working on these machines,you have no idea of the attachment that I have to “These machines just digging rock” 😁😁 Women!they don’t get it.

I’m surprised that 390 is struggling as much as it is in that rock!..those 390’s are brutes and real rock machines!...it must be pretty tight rock...perhaps the rock had a lot of seams in it when they blasted it because it doesn’t seem to have moved like it should have when they shot it!!..great video!

The other bucket I mentioned, was a equally sized cat bucket, only a bit remodeled!😅 It had 4 teeth instead of 5, a bit more “pointy” front, and about 500 kilos less of weight!😍 The penetration with that bucket was on another level, compared to this 5 tooth bucket!😄👇💪Technical stuff🤪👉the show goes on!🤩 Cat 390 F, attacking my last pile at this site, part - 2! kzread.info/dash/bejne/Zp6Hj9GoXbzeZpM.html

@@norwegianearthmovers I ran quite a bit of Komatsu PC750 back in the day...the company had half a dozen of them...I ran them with straight edge buckets and I ran them with the spade nose buckets and the spades dug way better...the just penetrated the rock so much better...and I found the wider the better!..that way the rocks would load into the bucket instead of bridging across the mouth of the bucket...the only thing is they were a pain when digging in clay or taking shallow cuts...but if we were in those situations we usually had a dozer pushing up to us and cleaning the cut so we just bailed as hard as we could go!!!..cheers my friend!!

I really like these buckets, but I stopped liking the 5 tooth design, when the limestone I sent you link about, was finished off..😅 As you see, this 5 tooth bucket appears to “flat” in the front, the teeth too tight, as well as the teeth are too thick themselves.🙃 As you can see in the beginning of this video, I put my foot beside a tooth on both buckets, and these ones are just so much more massive than the teeth on the 4 tooth bucket! The rule of thumb when it comes to building buckets for mass work is “the more teeth the smaller the tooth” when you have many teeth you aren’t impacting a single tooth as much and speeding out the force...big teeth are like side cutters ...all they do is burn fuel and frustrate the operator...when I get a bucket with side cutters or the side rock guards I haul them off and get the welder to weld a thin sacrificial piece of 400/500 steel on the sides so it protects the meat of the bucket but also helps the bucket slice through the material!!...I keep some hard surfacing on the cutting edge and the shanks especially if the teeth and shanks are smaller...people think the bigger the teeth the better on big gear because the machines have so much power they will break the smaller adaptors but this isn’t the case...yes they will break them in time because they wear and they will get fatigued but if they retain their girth by keeping the hard surfacing up to date they will last a long time!...I’ve run big stuff and small stuff with every kind of tooth and shank you can think of and they all break eventually especially when you run big stuff!..you just can’t get around it but you can make it last longer with good operating procedures/techniques and good maintenance!..at the end of the day the goal is to move as much material as possible with the lowest cost possible and it’s always a fine line to run in order to achieve that...the Cat production books lay it out for you in black and white what you can produce with that machine in every kind of material with every kind of bucket and you may never reach 100% production in any given scenario but you will likely come close and that’s all you can ask for!!..keep hoeing my friend!!!

Hi!🙋‍♂️ Thank you, and welcome to my channel!🙏😊 Well, it seems like we work with the same material, as this is blasted granite! This granite isn’t so hard as granite mostly are here in southern/ southeastern parts of Norway, so the results of the blasting has been very fine rock!😍 I live 110 kilometers east of this site, I worked in a granite quarry there for some months, breaking boulders for the crusher. We had so much boulders there, about half of the blast pile (or worse) had to be broken to fit in the crusher..🙃 There’s not many kilometers to a large block cut quarry, that cut out “Larvikitt”! It is very hard rock, most likely in the granite family. I’m very happy that we don’t have that hard rock at this site!😄 So how does the blasts in your quarry turn out?🙂 Where is this quarry, and what equipment do you possess there to extract the rock?🙃

I was wondering why in some your videos, there's not a lot of trucks lined up, I see there's only one truck. Where are they taking the rocks and dumping them. Keep up the good work

Hi!🙋‍♂️ Well, that’s as simple as I in those moments don’t have enough trucks..😄 When they have a long way to haul, it takes time for them to come back.😅 They were going to the D8 dozer still, on the opposite side of the valley.😋

The extreme duty buckets are great and all but they are super heavy and they don’t really help the machine out one bit…they in fact hamper it’s ability to load trucks efficiently and they burn fuel and wear the machine out that much faster because they are swinging weight that is non productive!…the only advantage to having armoured up buckets is the fact you don’t have to rebuild them as often or if you were in a situation where you were digging very tight material and having to pry on it some…and if that’s the case you should have a ripper on pre ripping the cut before loading out…I have a super armoured bucket for my 328D and I hardly use it because it’s so heavy!

I'm now in the ZERO TOOTH CLUB. Toor the mole board off my 349 bucket today. Guess the mechanics will listen next time, probably not. Digging in blasted ledge the wear plates dont last. A set of tiger teeth every 4 week

without shoes... like me :)

Hehe, it is a beast, massive and enforced!😅 All this rock were transported to our two dozers, who built embankments!😊 The whole area was measured and calculated before we started the project, so that our cut in the hills would fill all the valleys!💪 We had a mobile crusher at the site for some time though, so I sent some loads of oversized rock to be crushed at a point in time.🙃 You can see a video of that crusher in my videos, just to scroll through my library of videos!🙏

Awesome footage, this one snuck up on me 😆 I'm now seeing this. Very good work, looks like the same area but different location. I'm guessing the prototypes wasn't needed this time right? The blasting crew did a good job. Cause you went with ease into the pile, so it wasn't hard getting 50 tons per load. I wish you could make another crusher video when available. I like to see the whole process crushing the rock, producing road base material, and stock pile the gravel. Keep up the good work

Hehe, that might be true, it came from an odd angle..😅 It could also be a ricochet from the front wall of the truck, but I have never seen a rock coming up behind the bucket before..😄 Oh yeah, this bucket is heavier!🤪 It has the same size as the 4 tooth bucket, but it weighs about 500 kg more due to more wear steel. The entire machine is affected by both weight, thicker teeth, almost flat front and the additional tooth!😝 I thought that this was a great design at my former project, but I really found out now why they rebuilt these buckets!😅 I made a comparison videos from the same pile some days ago, check it out to see the difference!🙏 25-30 seconds faster loading time with the 4 tooth compared to this!😄 Didn’t believe the difference before I experienced it myself.🤪

Hi!🙋‍♂️ Well, my experience says that a loader would have problems in this pile.. the bottom of the pile was so hard, that a loader wouldn’t be able to reach the bottom, would be a lot of ripping to help out if we had used a loader here!😄 You are right, I could have had one more truck here!😅 I shifted loading location in this video, the trucks suddenly had longer way to haul, as well as we missed a driver. COVID has made everything difficult, as people needs to be home for the slightest symptoms..🙃

Ya if it's blasted nice and not to hard a large loader pretty decent but you can't beat the breakout force of an excavator

Viewed 6-30-21 2:09 PM USA Regarding the 5 tooth vs 4 tooth. Yes 5 is easier to clear the space, but it ( in my opinion) does not load up like the 4. The 5 tooth tends to prevent rocks from flowing into the bucket. The 5 tooth would be better digging ditches - basements moving soil etc. whom am I to say.....I am not the operator you are !!! :-)

Hi!🙋‍♂️ You are right about the loss of penetration ability! However, there is so much more to the operation than just filling the bucket!😄 I aim to get some kind of middle way between this one and the 4 tooth setup!😋 These teeth are just too thick and massive, so 5 teeth with the type from the other bucket on a sharper front will be great!😊 Spending massive time on cleanup reduce daily capacity as well, so I would like a bucket with all capacities in one, instead of one for this and one for that!😅 Thank you so much for taking your time to share your thoughts!🙏🤗

Hehe, there’s always another hill or mountain to ski down here, when we level out one or two hills..😂 We are building a large scale industrial park! The one we have been working on for 6 months is the first of 4 lots at this site! The first one is at 200 acres, and the entire area that we’re building is at 600 acres!😊 There will be built various warehouses, stores and stuff, as well as a gas station and a fast food restaurant on this area!🙂 When finished, we can probably ski down the slopes between the lots as well..🤪😄 Thank you for watching and for taking your time to wonder and ask!🙏😋

I believe the bottom of the shot is still solid rock, so all he has to do is just clean up the loose rock and reveal the solid surface

Does the bucket weigh 8 tons or 5 tons; (8,5) which is it?

Hi! 8,5 means 8500 kilos or eight point five tons!🙂

Just wondering what are the requirements to operate those big CATs? Are you allowed to reveal where this quarry is and if maybe the company working it hires?

Hi!🙋‍♂️ Hehe, bigger is always better!😄 But with a larger machine, I would need larger trucks. And we would also need larger dozer to handle the larger piles.🙃 With a larger fleet, we would also need larger projects! So, we have a customized fleet of machines for the jobs we take!😋 Some of my tasks are indeed hard, but we manage to complete the projects none the less!🙃 Hehe, I would like to know how the 395 is, but I’m only familiar with my 390!😅

Hi!🙋‍♂️ Well, the net weight of my full buckets depends on the weight of the material I load.😋 This blasted granite, is actually quite lightweight, compared to other types of rock. I have between 10 and 13 tons every bucket at this site, but I could experience over 16 tons in every bucket on my previous project with this machine!🙂 We are moving between 10 and 15 000 ton per day here, my record was very close to 20 000 tons loaded in one day at work!👌😄 Thanks for watching and for your enthusiasm!🙏🙋‍♂️

You are welcome!😊 Thanks for taking interest in my activities with large equipment then!🙏😄 You did actually have about right figures though! As the bucket weighs 8,5 tons itself, I am lifting up to 23-24 tons at most with the bucket weight and material weight combined!😅 I do run smaller equipment also though, everything from 2,5 tons and upwards!😋 Have you seen any of my vids in the Volvo ECR 25, 145 or 180C? I also posted two videos when operating a Cat 305.5 some days ago🙂 Check them out , maybe we have more in common in stuff we do, than you thought at first!🙏

Nei, på dette prosjektet ble hvert eneste oss kjørt til to dosere, som bygde opp området lag for lag!😋 Er stort sett det vi i Hæhre driver med, vi skyter ned fjelltopper, og fyller opp dalene mellom toppene!💪 Høyeste fylling på dette prosjektet var 23 meter mener jeg, går noen lass uti fyllinga da.😅 Vi hadde en mobil knuser på prosjektet en stund, men den gikk stort sett rett i egen røys. Men, da kjørte vi jo stein som var for stor for fyllinga for å pigges ved knuseren!🤪😂

I drive diggers in the UK, however, I'm only on about 300 hours on my ticket so still a novice, driving 14ton and below but have a license to drive any size, i hope to over the years get to the kind of size you drive so watching you like building pads is so great as a tool for a beginner like me to Learn, also, my partner is Norwegian, So for the video ill say Tusen Takk :) I am yet to master moving the machines direction via lifting it with the arm, any tips to get better with that?

First you lift the machine up like 30 cm then you turn the machine the way you want with the padals and you push your left joystick the opposit direction at the same time if you understand what i mean

Hi there!🙋‍♂️😊 Wow, there is nothing cooler for me, than to be told that there’s stuff to learn from what I do!🙏🙂 You really honor me by claiming to learn from my procedures!🤗 Well, I remember struggling with the same “choreography” back in the 90’s! To be honest, these various moves, are a bit hard to explain at first..😅 Every movement is kind of a part of me, and tends to be like trying to explain how I move a pencil right, to write a correct letter in a word!😄 It will get to you eventually, but after thinking a bit, it Jones back to me!😋 You have had it explained earlier here, but I can try to fill in as well!😄 You just start moving the tracks, then you start to turn the undercarriage in the direction you want to go! Then, you just slightly lift the machine up, and turn the acing the opposite way that you want to turn, while moving the undercarriage the way you want to go!🙂 When you have 300 hours in the seat, you have it all in front of you! A lot to look forward to in gaining experience, learning new techniques and methods!🤩 Tusen takk, for you too, for watching, for taking interest in what I do and for asking!🙏🙋‍♂️ All the best, greetings for you in UK from Norway!😊

Like the videos. Nice perspective. However, yes it’s a nice tidy finish(OCD), just glad I’m not paying the fuel bill for that lovely machine to scratch around like a Road Island Red, especially when trucks are waiting even though they only come around once every fortnight. Don’t understand why you are digging down into blast rock at full reach? You are pulling 40ton to get 10 in the bucket. Keep you dig short and move the machine more often. Get under the rock from an edge and scoop the rock in. That poor machine is pulling its guts out when not necessary. Get them trucks in and out soonest don’t wrestle with big lumps at the bottom of the dig. Go around to the material you can get. The big lumps will surface eventually. This job your on is an operators dream with the occasional truck under bucket but I would hate to see the material shifted versus diesel consumed. Just saying. Enjoy.

Hi!🙋‍♂️ Do you mean what one can earn as owner of the machine, or as an employee and operator?🙂 I don’t have the exact numbers when it comes to production profit, but an operator earns about the same as between 200 and 300 euros per hour.😋 Experience and skills determine who gets the responsibility to operate a machine of this size!🙂

Hi!🙋‍♂️I’m not sure how much this bucket costs, but steel is expensive these days, and this bucket is a heavy piece of equipment.😅 But I would guess that it costs somewhere between 400.000 and 500.000 NOK’s(40.000-50.000$ with today’s currency)🙃 I might be wrong, but there’s a lot of work putting this one together.😅 So this is my guess😄

Hei!🙋‍♂️ Tusen takk for en hyggelig tilbakemelding!🙏😊 Det morsomme her, er at både skuffen med 4 og 5 tenner er egentlig helt like!😋 Inntil for 3 år siden, har Hæhre brukt disse lange smale Klepp skuffene på selv de store lastemaskinene. Da jeg overtok 390’en min i 2018, fikk jeg for første gang prøve en lik Cat skuff som denne, bare litt mindre, en på 6 kubikk og 4 tenner!😋 Jeg likte de så mye bedre enn hva vi brukte fra før, og gav positive tilbakemeldinger på den! Plutselig kjøpte vi en brukt en på 6,5 kubikk, noe som gav helt råe resultater mens jeg var på Langøya!🤩 Videoer av både den første testen og av skuff sim denne ligger også tilgjengelig i videoene mine!🙂 Ja, denne skuffa er alt for rett i fronten, med bare 10 cm fremskutte midt tenner! Er pga dette at Hæhre bygde om kniven og prøvde ut å laste med 4 tenner istedenfor 5! 😊 Bredden på dem er som sagt lik, total bredde på skuffen er 265 cm!🤙
