It's a high energy number, he wants to stay hydrated, and either didn't have time to put it down before they started again or decided to have it on him in case he needed to get a drink. There's always one super energetic person who would probably pass out if they didn't drink at least a gallon of water at every rehearsal, in my experience. They're also usually the best dancers because they're putting 1000% effort into every move, so I can't really poke any fun at them.

harpejify Hey, thanks! I double checked at the Internet Broadway Database. The Dance Captain was Ryan Steele. BTW: I ama choreographer and life long musical theatre fan. I've never seen dancing as amazing as I saw in "Newsies!"
