yes,Christianity in kerala is as old as Christmas himself. it was Nestorians who settled here in Kodungallur and Trivandrum n intermixed with the then natives that established Christianity here.
I have very good memories of living & working in Kochi in the 90s, very friendly people. Nice video too. Take care.

There is one correction dear. Christianity in Kerala is not exactly colonial influence. It's been in this small space for 2000 years .Happy to know that you are enjoying the place. A fellow keralite :)

Hi! So nice to hear from you, it's so sweet! I'm really happy you like my videos :) All the best to you!
Love you man!!!
I know, plans don't work if you travel in India. I arrived (by bus from COK Airport) in Fort Kochi after a 39 hours journey including the busride . I enjoyed my first coconut at the beach and after one hour I found myself in a cheap and comfortable room without any effort from my side. So it went on all the time in Southern India. Good things come to those who can wait. Traveling in India is a lesson in patience...
Happy to see you again! Hope you are coming back soon! I would like to see Poland too, if you have such plans - that will be great :)

Christianity in southern part of india is not by the colonization. it's because of St.Thomas apostle (one of the disciple of Jesus). There are people who became Christians by missionaries.But a small amount.Christianity is there in kerala for last 2000 years. And we live happily with our Hindu and muslim brothers. 😊

Please don't think that we are fanatics.we are concerned about our heritage because there are less evidences(records) for the arrival of st. Thomas. The strong evidence is our culture. We have traditional music, dance and rituals which praise the arrival of St.Thomas and his martyrdom.And there are Christian churches founded by St.Thomas. And we used east Syriac(language) in our liturgy. I love Poland.You are totally different from rest of Europe.I remember slogan of Poles, "God, honour, homeland".🌹😊

I don't know what happens in other states.But in kerala, we live with harmony.Three of my roommates are Hindus (in Karnadaka). Seven of my best friends are hindus with whom I have food and enjoy weekends.Yesterday also we had dinner together😊 .We didn't feel any cultural difference till now. We are Christians by faith,Hindu by culture and Indians by nationality.😊 If you are a Hindu I can call you racist who oppressed lower casts for hundreds of years for their color and occupation. I can you a fantastic for killing hundreds of Christians and Muslims( eg.Gujarat riot ). I can call you traitor for dividing or nation for religion and showing fake nationalism.I can call you sadist for sacrificing animal to your gods.I can call you chauvinist for discriminating women. But I won't... You considered low cast people as untouchable... You didn't allow them for education. You raped their women. You insulted and killed them.Where was your darma ?? Don't forget our past.
@jerinmathew995
6 жыл бұрын
Yes... Pagan culture was wiped out by the Christians from Europe. But I don't think that Christians killed people for Christianity.Because Christ told us to love our enemies.Genocides ware due to racism.I don't support such things.Today situations in India are pathetic than any other country. Peoples are killed for eating beef. Girls are raped inside temple for not being Hindu(in Kashmir) !!! Peoples are reconverted to Hinduism. Who were the original inhabiters of India?? Why Dravidians are considered as lower cast in their homeland ?? How did they become untouchable for upper cast Hindus( the real invaders) ??!! 😨
Yes wow what a vide of the back streets and neighborhoods your amazing to do this all on your own I would die of loneliness in such a distant land

I know I'm a bit annoying, but how did you get from Cochin airport to Kochi? I don't want to pay 10.000Rs to a "criminal" taxidriver. Local bus, shuttle service or what? I don 't want to offend Indian people, they have to feed their children, but I'm sure you know the mentality of taxidrivers at airports or railwaystations. In Delhi I always take a prepayed taxi from the Delhi Police. 250 Rs last time to Bikaner house, a busstand near India gate. Expensive but ok! Anything similar in Cochin? Information makes everything less expensive and I'm a budget - traveller...

I'm not a good advisor on most of the practical things as I was always very lucky. I had a free lift from Kochi airport to Kochi, one kind man who was going the same directions offered me a lift. But I heard that taxi ride would cost about 800 rupees ;) There are also buses from there and that was my initial plan. Also I would suggest Uber
@redarmyF

Free lift? You look a little better as I do... I think I have to take the bus. No problem... Thank you.
