I wanna say good concept, but the movie is just a bunch of random nothingness jumbled up together to make a very bizarre and incohesive plot. From the prison island, Kye losing a leg, him being sent to steal info so he can save his father too, Hatch for some reason deciding to leave him to die, a sudden alien planet, oh yeah they're symbiotic aliens, (what do the aliens want? Who cares.) Random roars on the planet, the black guy whose name I've forgotten, dumb AI who might as well have written the plot, and yeah the planet is in the speed force now so yeah time travel... I could go on but you get the point
I laughed, I cried, I ate some more popcorn; 10 stars Movie Recaps.
The movie is also called "Arrowhead" if you want to look it up. Likely "Alien: Arrival" is an alternate name in different regions.
So the robot knows Tarren isn't dead, it also knows there's a time dilation going on, and it won't tell the main character anything ? I mean even if it made sense for an AI to follow orders so bluntly, it really feels like like the writers were just improvising their way to the end of the script and didn't know how else to justify not giving us any bit of information. Literally none of this would have happened if that robot said something.

Besides, there are better ways to go about using this trope than merely « Yeah this chick told me to shut it this one time when I wouldn’t stop talking so I decided to withhold every crucial bit of information for the last three years ».

Believer not AI are stupid. They have to be taught to understand the situation to tell this information. They’ll never tell you unless they you asked them to because they weren’t programmed too so this is probably very accurate.

ive had a similar expirience in a realy old scifi novel and as the crew asked him why he didnt say anything he just answered "you never asked"

Ok. Alien planet, symbiosis, space ships, deja vu time lapses, very lovely. This again is a quality sci-fi classic. I wished they had added edible alien plants for food.
