I like this man and his speech very much. But the ACCC needs much stronger powers. The truth is that the capitalist system we live in needs extreme and strong regulation. Woolworths and Coles and other large companies are acting immorally. There is no doubt about it. And why is the government not addressing rent prices properly. It's not just grocery, petrol, electricity insurance and other product and services companies that are pushing people into poverty...... while their share market prices continue to increase. They get richer and we get poorer. And on top of all this, people can't even afford rent.... let alone purchase property. The real estate industry, building industry and small and large property investors are also getting richer as we get poorer. They can afford to accumulate more and they reduce property availability. It's been going on since the beginning of time. International students and wealthy migrants, and wealthy foreign investors have pushed so many of us into the poverty line. They can afford to pay more and that pushes prices up. The government is not being honest about the causes of inflation, rent increases and interest rate increases. There are national organisations and large foreign organisations and a significant amount of the population that can afford to buy too many goods and too much property. And the government has let this get TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

all big and medium sized businesses are doing VERY WELL in 2024 Australia. It's the small business and working men and women are not doing very well at all - unless of course you are one of those 'property investors/speculators' that both political parties seem to want to encourage and allow to prosper while the rest of Australia I mention are not doing well at all - to the contrary. What is Labor's answer to the housing crisis now in Australia? hugely increase immigration to record high levels - we're talking over 500,000 new migrants into Australia this year. This is insanity and will see Labor lose the next federal election.

I watched this on the telly. 59:26 - "Do Canberrans need an independent body? Ah ha ha ha" 🤔 1:00:15 - "I'll buy my next house online" 🤨 Is she living in the same world as the rest of us? Unimpressive. That exchange made me so cross, I lunged for the computer to find a video of the address to which I could add a comment.

I certainly hope that Allan realises the importance of choice and control for NDIS participants in his new role on the NDIS taskforce. Insisting on registration for NDIS providers will not improve quality of services, but will decrease choice for NDIS participants. People with disabilities will no longer have the choice to decide who works with them, as independent workers disappear and huge providers grow stronger, monopolising the disability space!
