If you can find the answer in the question or passage, then it is consider as a lower level thinking skill. In Malaysia, we applied the Bloom's Taxonomy where there are 6 level of thinking skills. So the questions need to have different level of taxonomy to test the students' thinking skills. Nowadays higher-order thinking skills are prioritized such as analysing and creating. The Malaysian Education system aims to encourage and produce students who can think critically instead of just finding answers on paper.

@@syuhadanabilah3902 I'm also in my 3rd year in education degree programme and I agree.. kids need to be teach at their early age about critical thinking and problem solving skills that we also known it as KBAT nowadays. So, i think that early education are truly necessary to trigger this type of thinking outside the box. Not just "segala dlm buku". It's just my humble opinion.

I feel like many of the foreigners mistook that SPM is an exam to enter university. Actually SPM is a basic exam for majority of us to go even further but not enough to enter University in Malaysia. After SPM, there’s a few choices of Pre-U courses for us to choose based on our results such as STPM/ Diploma/ Matriculation courses in order to enter university. SPM is equal to O-level while STPM is equal to A-level qualification. If they really wanna find the same level as their SAT (which is the higher education exam that koreans take to enter university), they should compare STPM with SAT. I studied STPM so I know how tough it is, STPM questions are wayyyyy more harder than SPM.

SPM actually encourages people to be independent in thinking and not just depend on books only. There are certain question that ask about our opinion and it actually have many different answer. And, the teacher actually already have many answer for that.

That's about the silliest thing I've heard today. Maybe the syllabus is different now, but back in 2017, it was just regurgitating facts and repeat. The only exception were the Stem and accounting subjects. Overall, I learned nothing in high school

@@pooja350 The format for those who are from 04s and up are completely different than you batch now. With the SPM exam taking up 50% of mostly KBAT questions, memorizing and knowing facts without understanding them won't get you an A anymore. In any case, form 5s now learn Taxes and Insurance too in maths.

This's unfair for discussing during exams.. I hope blimey should notice that before they answer it 😂😂😂

Indeed they are good students, because they answer all questions calmly. Me, when I saw the paper I felt like fainting. Haha. All countries have their own way of educating their children. In Malaysia, the mark rate of a subject depends on how many people obtain high marks in that subject. If many people get high marks in the subject, then the score rate will be high. But basically if the score exceeds 40 and above you will pass.

STPM antara yg paling susah dibandingkan dengan exam lain yg SETARAF. compare an apple to an apple la, jangan compare dengan durian. buat apa bandingkan STPM dgn phD? sama ke level dua2 tu? klo sama baik ambil STPM je, boleh dapat "doktor," tak payah buat phD tapi proses pembelajaran di uni jadi lebih senang bagi saya. cikgu2 STPM saya ajar kami buat extensive research & presentation, kami tak biasa disuap. bila masuk uni, semua tu kacang je. lain orang lain pandangan, lain tahap kecerdasan & kemampuan.

The translation from classical languages into Malay standard is too hard for him and a little bit moderate for me. But I’m really jealous about their History. They learn nationalism from all over the world so I have fun reading about the Boston Tea Incident, American Revolutionary War, Glorious Revolution, WWI and WWII in detail and much more. Heck I’m so jealous that they able to learn more about European History TvT

If Korean entrance exams are equivalent to A levels examination, then they shouldn't be trying out SPM questions since it's just O levels. by right they should be trying out STPM exams which is equal to A levels and considered actual college entrance exams; equivalent to Korean national entrance exam....But still great content as always 😁

@@imranalff1278 kind of incorrect because Malaysians after highschool usually goes to pre-university first which is DIPLOMA (maybe), ASASI, MATRIKS & STPM before finally going into DEGREE which is the actual university.. plus, even in SPM we do have different examination papers depending on our classes (pure science, social science, accounting etc.) but true, it is the same papers for all highschools (different for each pre-universities though)

i don't know about now but back when i was taking SPM, they LOVED and i mean LOVED the KBAT questions, also known as HOTS ( Higher Order Thinking Skills ) because you literally have to ponder what they were trying to trick you with before you can answer the question. So many KBAT questions in a single test.

@@ainnn68 . Dalam kandungan tu dah dikira 1 tahun sebab tu +1 daripada umur asal dorang. Kalau dorang lahir tahun 1998, dorang akan jadi 23 di malaysia, tapi 24 di korea. Contoh bts suga lahir 9/3/93 dah 29 tahun dekat korea skrg. Padahal kalau kat malaysia dia 28 tahun sebab kiraan org korea dalam kandungan tu dah dikira satu tahun

My mom’s an English teacher for over 40 years already. She took part in making questions for SPM English paper, she marked the matriculation students’ final paper, she taught diploma, degree, masters and even PhD students. I can say that English paper was easier back then but as time goes by, it’s becoming trickier because they want us to critically and creatively think so that we can shape ourselves for the outside world later. I’m speaking from experience. I love the literature kind of questions because with that I am now more empathetic and sympathetic towards my surroundings.

For language test, Malaysian test focus more on getting the students to express themselves in the language. Just my opinion tho.

Took spm on 2017 and just realized how time fliessssss i miss my high school year and to all spm candidates all the best~

I got the worst SPM result ever that made my teachers look at me as i'm someone who not going far and even asking me that if i have a boyfriend, just get married and have a life now........ I said i still want to get into university, and they just look like "well, of course.....yeah~~whatever"....... I was so hurt and even think about stop dreaming and just earn a living to help my family.......but there is one teacher smile at me and said "go ahead.....show what you got......you still have a lot to show to them, isn't it?" Just that one sentences make me felt likes "yeah, who are they to judge my value??" Then i got into STPM (got to be the best student though), got into University (with flying color) and pursue my Master in research now....... Sometime i sit back and think....what i could be right now, if i stop trying and i didn't met that one particular teacher that said that? Sometime, its better to just let the world judge you from their own world and ignore it....because it is not your world...,.

@@Weathersohot i pray for your success in SPM, whatever the result later, its not your real value, don't let other judge you simply because they think they know you better.......you know yourself better and show them the real you and don't let their word get to you......their story is already done, write your own story...... Don't give anyone a chance to write your life story, but be humble and still listen because they still have experience and you have youth......go for it and be the only "YOU" that no one can imitate.....☺️

In Malaysia, we didn't use grade term. Like grade 1 2, or 3 . We use tahun 1 or darjah 1 for 7 years old students . Darjah 2 , for 8 years old. Tahun 3 , for 9 years old. Darjah 4, for 10 years old. Tahun 5, for 11 years old. Darjah 6, for 12 years old. They're having UPSR examination. Also known as entrance exam. Here, darjah 1 until tahun 6 are study in 1 school. Tingkatan 1 or form 1, for 13 years old. Form 2, for 14 years old. Form 3, 15 years old. They're having PT3 examination . Also known as entrance exam. Form 4, 16 years old. Form 5, 17 years old. They're having SPM examination. Also known as entrance exam. Form 6 below, 18 years old. School start june until December. Form 6 upper, 19 years old. They're having STPM examination. Also known as entrance exam.

You don't underestimate the koreans darling, 😌 you should probably say that to a japanese person and they just jump straight in the answers after calculating that fast, you won't be able to see human being but alien people

1st week - 150 students 2nd week - 146 students (4 students withdrew) 3rd week - 142 students (4 students quit) And so on (4 students drop every week) *Last week - 22 students left Remaining week = 142 students - 22 students = 120 students / 4 = 30 weeks Total of weeks = 2nd week + 3rd week + last week + remaining week = 1+1+1+30 = 33 weeks

No but this video reminds me of the old days in 2019 working so hard for addmath with the same pattern of questions, just to entered the hall and realised the questions were totally different from what we have studied 💀

I'm candidates 2017, exam always different with what we expexted it would be. My teacher ask us to calm down and just answer the question that we know first. At the time the format is little bit different as the questions that always be first question has change to almost the last question.

Spm addmath 2019 is the worst of all. I cried while answering it lol. Altho i think they lowered the grade percentile so much because i was able to get good result despite crying in the exam hall🤣

@@haziq_ikhmal Yes it’s a little bit difficult and since our teacher already give various types of formats and questions from 80s and 90s, we are used with the pressure we had during the exam. At least mine is ok. And bcs of my teacher, the percentage for students who passed the Addmaths increased up to 18%. With about 85% of the students in my batch passed Addmaths

You should have them to try MUET, the Malaysian University English Test which is not equivalent to Spm English. SPM English is quite easy and MUET is used to determine whether someone is qualified or not to enter university.

@@thedarkbeauty1995 I mean you will need it if you want to pursue your degree in IPTA or IPTS so go for it! You can do it! You can take it now because the muet certificate validity is 5 years so it still valid when you enter uni later on. Muet is not hard like seriously as long as you follow the format then you're good to go. I messed up my writing though because I spent 30 minutes zoning out because I can't understand the question. Don't be like me ok HAHHAHA goodluck!

- 1st week started with 150 students for this science project - 2nd week, 4 students withdrew, 146 students left - 3rd week, another 4 students quit, 142 students left and if this continues… - Only 22 students left (on the last week) - 150 - 22 = total of 128 students left - how many weeks (when they leave)? 128 students/ 4 students (each week) = 32 weeks They left on 2nd week so plus the 1st week = total of 33 weeks # That’s example of malaysian paper. For certain questions. They’re always like that. It’s not about calculation only but how you understand the question and they will put a tricky question. When we so focus to solve the calculation we forgot the exact question. Because mostly at school we only learn how to solve the calculation only but during an exam they do this 😅 Mostly people fail to notice that and failed. While someone that always questioning something and has problem solving mind set will directly spot that part. Like that will questioning “why so easy?” Our math not all about calculation only 😅

The point of learning a language is to be able to understand, comprehend, interpret and respond effectively. The point of these questions, albeit weird at times, is meant to test one's proficiency in understanding modern English texts. Controversy or not, the idea was to test if one fully understands the texts without misinterpreting them based on real-life skills. Multiple-choice questions don't typically exist in the operations of our day-to-day lives. No doubt Malaysia's test standards are notoriously ambiguous, but I think the basis of it makes sense.

do STPM question next! personally I loved those critical thinking question because if it is essay, you're free to answer and get marks as long as it's logic and if it's maths/addmaths you need to understand what topic it is tested on and you're good to go! I see lesser traditional straight forward questions these days which are great for people who questions "why do I need to know this formula?" because the critical question are usually real life problems hehe

How can they got right answer for addmath.. I mean after look at the question i almost cry ii maybe cause i weak with numbers 😂😂

honestly back in my days.no kidding,pmr & spm are kacang.merely latih tubi semata mata.if u did lots of practice,u can excel em.u can't compare em with igsce & o level even.(based on experience) . that's why ,most kids who didn't do well all those academic years & suddenly scored only for spm ,mostly didn't do tht well in universities.i nvr sit for stpm so i didn't knw how tough it is.took alevel instead .but i've heard tht critical courses in malaysian local unis are way tougher than ours abroad.👍🏻
