IN FLAMES, written and directed by Zarrar Kahn, had its World Premiere in Quinzaine des Cinéastes, an independent selection of the Cannes Film Festival in 2023.
IN FLAMES marked the first horror film from the South Asian subcontinent to premiere at the Croisette. The film was also Pakistan's return to Festival de Cannes Directors’ Fortnight, after a gap of more than 40 years. It was the first film from our #TalentToWatch program to make it to Cannes! IN FLAMES went on to be selected as the Pakistani entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards.
We caught up with Kahn before his film premiered to learn more about IN FLAMES, and how he felt about his film being part of the program!
