In Dysfunctional family acceptance is Conditional

In a dysfunctional family, acceptance hinges on adhering to their rules and roles, often rigidly defined and enforced. Each member is expected to play a specific part, whether it's the caretaker, the scapegoat, the hero, or the lost child, among others. Asserting your own needs, opinions, or desires threatens the fragile equilibrium and typically leads to rejection or punishment. Straying from your assigned role or speaking honestly about the family's issues disrupts the unspoken contract and can result in a loss of "love" and support. This dynamic creates a toxic environment where genuine communication and personal growth are stifled, as members are forced to suppress their true selves to maintain a semblance of familial harmony.

Do very true, withheld. Its very sad, but we find our own and that’s way better in the long run snd something they know nothing about, not even a glimpse. So sad for them.
