    Hi all!! Please open me! Today we are going IN-DEPTH LIKE NEVER BEFORE - to geek out about my current setup! Here is my Amazon storefront with everything, and then individual links are in the description box, since it’s so long: www.amazon.com/shop/gibiasmr Many thanks if you do end up seeing something you like in this video and end up buying it through my storefront or description links, because I do receive a commission - I really appreciate that!!! The Gibi sweatshirt I’m wearing in this video can be found here: gibimerch.com/ I say it in the intro too, but the biggest thing to remember is that you DO NOT NEED these things to create content that you love - this has been accumulated over 7 years and thanks to the many views allowing me to invest back into my channel and buy things to film more videos with…! I started with a secondhand camera and a Blue Yeti, and I watch MANY amazing channels who prefer low-maintenance setups and create the most incredible content. For ME, this is what I am interested in and how I like to create content - but that doesn’t mean it’s how YOU should have to do it! I hope that this video is 1) entertaining, but 2) helpful in one way or another! Feel free to pick and choose anything from what I talk about to apply it to your own creative process. 🙂 High res and high production does not directly equate to quality of ASMR - it’s just another form of it! Also wanted to link two videos I mention in the video from DSLR Video Shooter that really helped me formulate what I wanted to do with my setup! This one, which you’ll see more when I eventually do an ASMR Desk Tour: kzread.info/dash/bejne/a5yL2LBpYcWrgLw.html And this one: kzread.info/dash/bejne/no1_y5eEnLzbgaw.html Any other questions, I will absolutely try to answer in the comment section! :D

    Watching this video makes me want a “first person pov” asmr video where we are you. Idk if this even makes sense but like it’s a normal Gibi asmr video but from your perspective where we see everything you are doing. Idk how one would make that work but it sounds cool.

    as a professional A/V tech, my job includes every aspect of this cart, I don't think a lot of people appreciate what it takes to put something like this together, but there are days i would kill for a setup this easy and compact. as a side note, on the topic of IEMs, if you have $800 burning a hole in your pocket, you can get custom molded in ear monitors that will guaranteed be the most comfortable headphones you've ever worn, with decent sound quality, just make sure you get ones that have a neutral frequency response, so any EQ you add will be reflective of what's actually being output

    I am probably just a huge nerd, but i absolutely love this style of ASMR/documentary crossover. Recently I have been digging "unintentional ASMR", mostly videos from documentaries about skilled artisans. Something about a professional demonstrating the ins and outs of their trade while softly explaining all the hidden details just checks off all the boxes for balancing desire to focus and ability to relax while watching. This video adds additional polish since it is "intentional ASMR" from one of the best creators out there. While I am not sure I am representative of a majority of ASMR viewers, I would absolutely put content like this on repeat. Who knows though, maybe a lot of your other viewers would enjoy a follow up video on how you did the sound testing to identify that your LED bulbs were creating feedback. Maybe KZread is dying for an ASMR-Tech reviewer crossover series?

  • @mattbaron14

    @mattbaron14

    Hi, fellow asmr-loving nerd, I agree. I'd look forward to that crossover series. There's something about provoking both curiosity and relaxation that works very well. Bob Ross, Carl Sagan, and John Butler all come to mind as people who can evoke that.

    Hi Gibi, I have some experience making carts and I can say from experience that in 90% of situations, 2 fixed wheels is much easier to move around than full 4x swivel. If there is any inclines or if you have to go any distance at all its much more stable and with 4 swivels you're easy to go off course and hit something. Ofc there are situations where 4x swivel is nicer and possibly yours is one, just something to think about. Also I can recommend if you are going for swivel wheels, to get ones with double brakes (meaning both teh wheel and the swivel itself have a break), they feel make the cart way more stable when on brake, much less accidental movement if something hits it.

    There are so many things in this video that just made me think that the clear solution to your problems would be having a studio assistant hahaha. Ion make ASMR but I do make music and like so many of the problems I saw actually felt kinda relatable to recording by myself in my basement DIY studio. Like getting the gain volume knobs just right is so painfully annoying and slow when you don't have someone else to spin the knobs for you.

    Excellent choice in the computer mouse that you held up, the Logitech MX Master 3S. I have a black and gray one and I think its hands down the best computer mouse going, I use it for gaming and for office work and they absolutely rock, Sorry but I geek out alot when watching your videos, you know your stuff!!!!

    If you do go through with the upgrade to the wheels, you might wanna look into just jacking up the entire cart to access them. That'll depend on your confidence in the mounting fixtures, and the actual position of the hardware attaching the wheels, of course.

    I love these kind of behind the scenes/ in-depth videos. It's interesting to learn how each part works on the cart and how it works all together. My only question would be if you have ever had to change or upgrade specific parts or items on the cart? Overall, it's a pretty cool cart and I'm glad that it is working well for you.

    Hey! just a small bit about the normal SD card vs the CFExpress Type A card :) The "headline making" cameras from the Sony Alpha line have many recording options: - Video quality (1080p, 4K...) - Frame Rate (25fps, 50fps, 60fps, 120fps...) - Color Depth (8bit, 10bit, external 12 bit, external RAW recording...) - Color Sampling (420, 422, 444...) The more you push your limits, the more data per second the camera needs to put out, thus the faster reading/writing speed your card needs to have. There are many different versions of compressions and different types of recording, but for the average user, shooting something other than 4K isn't really necessary since the footage isn't going to be graded later. With that being said, if you're trying to use a green screen, having the ability the record in higher color depth and sampling is a valuable resource, since keying out and separating different tones is easier for the computer when it has more data. Usually, normal V60 and V90 SD cards can withstand sturdier recording situations, in the price of reduced frames rate or quality. To my humble opinion, it is worth using the CFExpress type A card when recording greenscreen, while setting the color depth and sampling to the highest. Depending on the situation, I'd suggest recording "normally" (8 bit, 420) when the footage doesn't need any post processing in order to have an easier time decrypting the footage. I do think that if you have the good hardware, there is no reason why not to record in high quality, thus the CFExpress Type A card is a great combo for cameras like the Sony A7IV, A7SIII or the FX3 haha. The golden diffusion is a brilliant filter! Love to see it being used. I'm still in the middle of the video, but I found myself having way more fun than I originally thought I would! Thank again Gibi!
