Great informative video. I pick my 2022 V90 up tomorrow and think its a huge step back removing driving modes. What is Volvos excuse for this!? Also I hear the new Google system is poor. Huge lack of customisation on the driver screen..

Hi Bobby, Volvo Malaysia offering XC90 B5 now, can you share the pros and cons of B5 and T8 since the price difference by less than 10k. Which model can expect less maintenance cost. My annual mileage averagely 10k only. TQ

In other countries, B5 is entry and T8 is top spec priced the same as Cayenne.

B5 and T8 in Malaysia has same specs and features. Only difference is Mild Hybrid and PHEV. The specs has been upgraded from T5.

@Bobby Is there a need to upgrade this XC60 model with Polestar Engineered Optimization package? Or it is good enough with 249 hp from the B5? Please share your thoughts.

Good enough even if you want to upgrade with polestar, do it one year later so that you get to feel the changes. Because its so minor, you might not feel it if you tune it so soon

@Bobby In your view, what would be the main consideration if one were to choose between T8 hybrid and B5? If one is not disciplined enough to recharge the hybrid everyday, the horse power and petrol savings will not be significant right? When do you think one need to replace the hybrid battery? I read some say 10 years and it costs MYR40,000.

I bought brand new B5 with polestar package and I can say its worth for the upgrade. You will get 3x drive mode in your drive options. Engine response and gear change feel more livelier during polestar mode.

Top speed capped at 180km/j right?

Exactly! The paddle shifter!! Also if you realised the drive mode selector is gone as well. At least for me, Volvo seems to be only car maker who reduces car specs over time. Bummer.

Volvo traditionally have pretty poor fuel economy. My old XC40 T5 averaged around 11L with my leadfoot driving style, so realistically this B5 should be able to match that if not better. Maybe Bobby took the car on a Genting run...

It's a media unit with a turbocharged engine. Nobody drives like a seasoned housewife that is doing the same routine for the 3rd year during a test drive session

@@Gabrieltamdesign I believe the reason Volvo has had bad FC is because it's way heavier than the Germans, rock solid body. Maybe. Or is it inferior engineering of powertrain???

Getting rid of the left or right swipe quick menus is a BIG mistake!!!

Is this one of the cars that the recently unveiled Mazda CX-60 will be competing against?

No. Audi Q5 has the button but not volvo.

Disappointing infotainment system. Some necessary functions like switching between adaptive cruise control and steering assist are buried in the main menu for no reason. In 1 month of ownership, I had to hard restart the infotainment system 3 F... times; 1st, the google assistance was not working, 2nd time the GPS was out of work for no reason, 3rd-time air-conditioning stopped working in the middle of a hot summer day!!! If I didn't know about a shortcut to hard restart the system, I had to go to the dealer 3 times in ONE month! NOT recommended at all!

@@BobbyAngmalaysia not anymore! You can only activate/deactivate the system. If you want to activate/deactivate steering assist you should go to the main menu. They moved it there after an update.

You didn't sound very enthusiastic about this car!
