The Details...
1. Have a well developed your product.
2. Know your target audience.
3. Pick a straight forward name.
- include a key word that describes you work.
4. Pick a key word to include in your the top of your bio.
5. Include a link to your website or shop in your bio.
6. Take quality photos.
- You can google more information about how to take quality photos for beginners.
7. Have quality lighting.
- I prefer natural lighting but you can also purchase studio lights and professional lighting at camera stores or online.
8. Have a quality background to photograph on.
- I bought a digital file on Etsy of a wood print for about $4 that I printed out myself at a local print shop to use as my background.
- Be creative! Use wall paper samples or fabric to create a unique background.
9. Don't over edit your photos.
- Just balance out your images to make it clear and defined.
- Afterlight is the app I mentioned that you can use for additional editing.
10. Post often.
- Post once or twice a day.
10. Direct potential customers to your online shop or website
- Let followers know where the link is to your shop in each post.
11. Hashtag everything!
- This is the most important point because this is how people who are interested in your work will find you.
12. Hashtag basic descriptors.
- Use obvious words to describe everything in the image. Ex: Jewellery, Painting, Wire wrapped pendant, Ceramics, etc.)
- Use words that your demographic might be searching. Ex: Style, Fashion, Boho, Yoga, Nature, etc.)
13. Use LOTS of hashtags.
- Each hashtag you use is a new opportunity to have someone find you work.
14. Do a giveaway.
- You can google more information about how to do this in detail.
- What I normally do is a create a photo letting people know I will be will giving away. Add the rules in the description. This is up to you but I have made my rules in the past: Must be following me, must repost the photo, must hashtag (with the contest hashtag you made up) and must tag me so I know they've posted something. You can also get them to tag a friend. Once all these steps are completed they are entered into the contest.
- I used an app called Instant to add text to my image.
15. Do a loop giveaway.
- More difficult but is beneficial because you will gain exposure through other artists who will have different followers than you.

16. Interact through liking and commenting.
17. Share through other social media platforms.
- My favourite to share to is tumblr where is more likely to be shared around by new people.
