Been getting asked for some "longer form videos". I got a few in the works BUT one that is possibly the most interesting and time consuming is a full read of Arthur Morgan's 100% journal. Complete with John's epilogue written down as well! Just wanted to make that public somewhere lol. There's also a breakdown of the journal coming but that will be another video and who know how much longer after the read.

Micah is in my top 5 favorite characters of red dead so in tribute to him I’m gonna write his full plan for his life. Micah Bell’s Plan Join the Van Der Linde gang just to earn profits as his gang was disbanded Manipulate Dutch into robbing the ferry boat in Blackwater so that Micah could get rich and leave the gang and possibly start his own gang Work with the Odriscolls and The Pinkertons to capture a gang member so that most of the gang comes to the rescue and then they would be surprised with not just the Odriscolls but the Pinkertons as well so that the Van Der Linde gang is killed in one fell swoop. He does this as Dutch’s gang is losing profits and he sees Dutch’s bounty which is very big and The Pinkertons are going to pay him very well for his efforts of capturing and killing most of the gang. He hears That the Van Der Linde gang is going to rob a bank he is content with this idea since his cut is going to be possibly massive so that then he could leave the gang with the profits he has accumulated. And possibly start his own gang after he left the Van Der Linde gang Get constantly into Dutch’s ear to go back for the Blackwater money he tries to manipulate Dutch saying is for the survival of the gang and freedom in another country. But actually, he just wants the money for himself possibly stealing it all betraying the gang, and staying in hiding for a while after he steals the gang’s heist. And again possibly starting his own gang. After Guarma Micah is scared for his life as the Pinkertons and the authorities are closing into the Van Der Linde gang harder than ever. He now works directly with the Pinkertons instead of just as an informant of the Odriscolls who then gives the information to the Pinkertons but now he works directly giving them information on their plans and the state of the gang. Try to kill the Van Der Linde gang after giving the location of the Van Der Linde’s gang hideout in Lakay. He obviously is going to get substantial money for being an informant. Now that he has fully manipulated Dutch into believing him to be a very loyal enforcer and a great friend he sees this as an opportunity to win more cash as he convinces Dutch to do impulsive and destructive acts and tells Dutch false narratives continuously saying that Arthur and John are traitors and that all of Dutch’s impulsive plans is the right thing to do. After the long-awaited and planned train robbery succeeds he plans to take his cut of the money with Dutch and leave the United States with him. He possibly will leave after he has successfully left the United States and possibly Force the boat captain to take him back while the gang stays in TAHITI. Because of Arthur’s interference, his plan doesn’t work out as he would have wanted so he instead goes out to kill Arthur as Dutch fully believes that Arthur is a traitor and tries to gain a bigger trust within Dutch when he kills him. But instead of trusting him more, he sees Micah for who he really is and leaves much to Micah’s anger. But it worked out better for him actually as he stole every last penny of the train robbery and regained the money from Blackwater has complete law immunity as he works with the Pinkertons and started his own gang, Just like he always wanted a lot of money complete law immunity and his own gang. But because he killed Arthur his past came back to haunt him which led to his death.

Micah treats Arthur like a Proxy of his own brother Amos. Amos tells Micah to stay away from him and his family or he will eliminate him and since Amos changed and became a better man, Micah see's the same thing happening to Arthur. This is the reason why Micah is always needling Arthur and teasing him like an annoying brother would. The difference is that Micah doesn't care about Arthur or anyone else in the gang besides Dutch but that's just a manipulation to get paid. However he Obviously cares about his brother Amos (in some strange way or he's scared of Amos) or else he would have killed Amos and his family, or at least tried to kill them just out of some misplaced sense of disloyalty. Considering how Amos abandoned Micah and his Father. I think Arthur's disdain for Micah reminds him how much Amos dislikes him and since Micah can't really feel remorse for anything, he takes out his anger on other's by tormenting them. Micah may be a good gunfighter but he's a terrible example of a person.

I never really hated Micah but he did make angry which was a first for a video game character. At first I just thought he was a hard ass who acted the way he did maybe because of some kind of trauma or something but later it became obvious he’s just a snake scheming all the time. I think nobody actually gives him enough credit for how skilled of a gunman he is. He’s on par with John and Arthur and then there’s the stylistic choice of how he reverse draws his guns. A thing that Peter Blomquist apparently spent hours practicing daily for the mocap. Then there Peter’s performance as Micah, he did incredible making Micah seem like an actual person despite how flat he is. Plus there’s the last detail that I like, he’s a simple villain in an age of complex villains. It’s good to have a simple villain who’s views are believable because he’s got a warped sense of reality and thinks he needs to kill to survive.

Micah was playing the game from all angles just like how it was his idea to play the Rhodes families from all angles, it’s in his nature as a survivor to adapt to all the things going on around him, so him using the pinkertons to his advantage by only feeding them bits at a time while playing Dutch and using him to make more money is exactly what Micah was doing, idk why people are so quick to defend him and act like he couldn’t be the rat even tho it’s literally said to us and Milton wasn’t gonna let Arthur go in that moment either so there’s no reason for him to lie there, he said what he said to rub it in Arthur’s face before taking him in or killing him there

Here is something to think about. For some reason Micah feels relatable , i feel like i know him already or know people with exactly the same mindset as him. Pretentious people who are slightly above average and can carry their own weight fine but they play mind games and talk behind backs to "survive" usually playing nice with the leader of a friend group , boss at a job whatever . Anyone who dares oppose something that in the end finds them as the benefactor is seen as a selfish act and they will proudly say out loud that you are the problem when its actually them , passive aggresive comments only when they know they have the protection of others and usually enjoy the pain of others. You see what i mean when i say its like i know the guy , his writting is excellent and as a story i love how they gave away early not only his carnage tendecies but also his selfisness and disconnection from the gang but also i dont think people hate Micah just because of what he did but because Micah is the personifacation of a genuine bad human being to the core. Every time the bastard speaks i know his is yapping lies and i cant stand it not because its Micah but because any person doing and speaking like that would make me want to throw them off a cliff.

He could have easily shot them both in the back or captured them or tell the pinkertons that he and Arthur are gonna be robbing this wagon at this time. He meets with just Dutch multiple times and could have done him so bad and killed or captured him when he has no defenses. I shamelessly played more than 4400 hours of RDR2. Rockstar really nailed every character in the game. I can't find any faults in RDR2 except what I feel could have been added and removed such one scene after "A Short Walk In A Pretty Town" where Arthur is so angry after Sean's death and Micah says "You can fight but you can't think." and Arthur answers "You can't do either." Micah then says "I'm just so scared of you cowpoke." Arthur SHOULD HAVE pulled him off his horse and smacked him a good two or three times. The fact that this does NOT happen in the game, the fact that Micah can push Arthur around if Arthur antagonizes him, the fact that Micah pushes Arthur against a wall in Annesburg saying "Was you followed" and still Arthur does nothing conveys the idea that Arthur is scared of Micah and this element is present throughout the whole game. Finally, the epilogue is simply a bad call on Rockstar's part. The game should have ended with Arthur killing Micah in the fight where he dies. The absence of these two possible events not only leaves the player feeling that Arthur failed but he was also scared of Micah.

Never found Micah annoying or irritating, his writing reminds me alot on the writing of George RR Martin with his Game of Thrones most characters there are written (even if we view them as bad) as heros of their own storys as is Micah to his own story. In my first time playing it i remember wanted to have more Micah time to see him develop explore his roots more but that would have been a bad thing perhaps since you accurate point out he actually is very constant and not changing much. Pretty sure parts of him loved Dutch but Micah is a survivor he keeps his options open (like the bounty stuff he had in his camp on Dutch) Type that can respect you as he certainly did with Arthur especially in the beginning and even love as he did with Dutch but as easely leave you behind or betray you to survive. And with him it actually doesnt feel personal.

He did suck up to Dutch but dude it was so obvious even the blind beggars could see it from across the map. Micah is an opportunist, and Dutch is so gullible and so egotistical that of course he becomes an easy mark. It was Dutch that gave Micah the in into the gang in the first place. I get why people hate Micah, he really is a character you love to hate, but he's a tree that was planted and watered by Dutch. If we're talking annoying characters, look no further than that abomination Sadie. Just because she's on Arthur's side while Micah opposes him, that shouldn't blind you to who has way more annoying personality traits. Villainous does not equate to annoying. He's antagonistic. Big difference. Sadie is annoying. She's embarrassing in everything she does. People just overlook it because she's an ally to the player character.

The dialogue around 6:47 always read to me like Micah is Dutch's own arguments to deflect criticism and Dutch is too far gone to see how insultingly he's being played. And Arthur can't say anything about it hecause Dutch is too volitile and he trusts Micah too much at this point. I think Micah is the person Dutch wants to be -- a young, violent gunslinger with the thinnesr veneer of loyalty to justify his actions. Dutch can't see Micah for the cancer he is because everytime he looks at Micah, he sees something to aspire to.

Despite being the big, tough gunslinger we see him as on the outside, Micah is just a coward at his core. He was never loyal to anyone and was always willing to throw anybody under the bus if it meant saving his own hide, and that shows in how little we see of him in missions. Sure he talks a big game but how often do we really see him in action save for the small handful of situations that are comfortable enough for him to satiate his greed? It's not a coincidence that the only chapter in which he contributes most to is the same one he happens to have a secure position as Dutch's new second in command all the while being a pinkerton informant as well. Which even shows with how much he loves to antagonize Arthur after learning that he's dying. He usually only kicks people while they're down or when he already has the upper hand over them. Micah is not a tough guy.

the best evidence i can give you that mica works for old driscol and pinkertons , its his green scarf from the start of the game if you replay the game anought to see all diff dialogue every situation mica is in old driscol or pinkertons pops out right at the perf time to counter Dutch move , always puching dutch to make mistakes , and all the mission you do with him he try to kill us indirecly to make sure he take arthur out of the pictur cuz arthur is the most reason why micah plan always fail its because he was not able to do that and as we all know arthur was the only one really able to see micah for who he was , the only reasson why mica make a big rampage in strawberry when you break him out of jail and have to go get his gun back his to make sure that no one in this town tell on him and to put a good bounty on arthur head so he cant really come and ask question until l8er in the game there so much evidence in the game to prove that mica and molly are working for the old driscol only to try to gather as much info on the gang as possible as you go on in the game until the old driscol his hang in st denis then mica when on his own and work with the pinkertons , they say mica starting to tell on them after the bank robbery in st denis but after st deni , but truly it was after old dricol execution in st deni

Hey Cynic, I totally agree, Micah is a very interesting character and the fact that so many players hate him with a passion is a testament to how well the character was developed.

I love to hate Micah he’s honestly the closest thing to an outlaw in the game only truly looking out for himself. Another thing thats interesting about Micah is his admiration for Arthur because he’s the total opposite of Micah unless Arthur is low honor then he just sees Arthur as a hypocrite thinking he’s better than Micah when he’s just as psychotic

Micah may be the most hated rdr2 character especially since he throws the gang under the bus constantly, but to be fair to micah, he's an outlaw, not a robinhood figure.

The writers were smart to make him someone you're supposed to hate. If they tried to make him "sympathetic", that would've made me despise his character even more (and not in a good way).

@@teamtx1578I agree, writers rely on that way too much; even when it doesn't make sense for a character to show any kind behaviour that they consider 'weakness', and Rockstars could've done this too, with Micah; considering Micah's backstory.

I know Arthur stole the show as best character. But Micah is so evil it's impossible to like him, which just shows how well he is written. I've never seen a Fictional Character be so hated

There are some fictional characters I hate more because the writers try to paint them as "virtuous" or "sympathetic" when they're just flat out insufferable. The writers of RDR2 never try to make you like Micah which, in a weird way, makes me love him as a character just as much as I hate him.

Look, we (by a large margin of the fanbase), despise Micah however let's be fair here. All of the gangs misfortunes all lies with Dutch. Micah only became a rat only at the later half of the game. According to Agent Milton, Micah became an informant once all of them got back from Gurama. Now, why take Milton's word on this? Because, why would he lie about something like that? What Milton hope to gain about revealing something like that, especially when he had Arthur in a vulnerable position til Abigail swiftly dispatched Milton. Micah jumped ship after the Saint Denis robbery, Micah knew the gang was done, all because Dutch was getting them into unnecessary situations (Gray & Braithwaite Family Feud in hopes of getting some perceived Confederate Gold that was lost during the War Between the States & trying to swindle a Mobster Angelo Bronte in his own city). Micah was intolerable fiend, Dutch was vehemently incessant . Dutch, I blame more than Micah. Ever since, Dutch unfortunately targeted Cornwall, which in turn set the Pinkerton's on them. Dutch been fumbling ever since.
