I loved this movie so it makes me really happy to see someone with a nuanced perspective, I like how you analyzed the song within the context of the scene as a diegetic piece and how you looked into the way it portrays Magnifico and the kingdom. I think my favourite part was the point about the three wishes, how you'd assume the third was granted as the other two were, I didn't even think about that and it's such a good point. Great video! 😁💛

2:30 THANK YOU, I’m genuinely so tired of people bringing up Welcome to Rosas, claiming it’s an example of how amazing everything is, and why king Magnifico is a great ruler. Why does no one consider that it’s literally meant to fool you into thinking everyone is happy which isn’t the reality? I also want to add how annoying I find it when people claim Asha wants to grant all the wishes and not just return them. Magnifico snapping at her for the idea and taunting her at the ceremony should make it obvious how evil his intentions are, but so many people just assume he’s correct. It’s really annoying. I don’t love wish, but it’s a harmless enjoyable film, and the criticism thrown at it just feels undeserved sometimes. Seriously, if anyone thinks this is the worst disney film of all time, they’ve never seen another Disney movie.
